I’ve never pulled him once in any of the years I’ve had the game which was from the start. I got him in one of the free 90 plus diamond packs as a choice pack, but I’m not counting that.

I got him as an after game reward last year though

I feel like these games aren’t actually random with the packs, the more I see people talk about it it feels like pack luck is set to your internet connection or something. Everyone has a few cards they seem to pull repeatedly and the diamonds people get seem to be duplicates as well. I’ve pulled 3 diamonds on the year and two were Freddy freeman. The games also had a habit of giving me hunter renfroe to the point I stopped selling him and have held onto them and have over 26 now....

So you’re either pulling two or three trouts on the year or 100 of some random silver or bronze. But it really seems like the way the packs generate is rigged to drop you the same cards on a cycle and make it impossible to ever complete the live series without flipping the market or buying cards outright. Lol think about it ads has their group meeting and says hey how can we make it to where people spend money, and one guy pipes up and says, just rig the packs to throw out the same cards over and over so they can never complete the set unless they buy stubs. Not like anyone will ever know or even be able to prove it.

Last year I averaged a trout about every 5 weeks. This year I pulled him opening day and not again. The pack odds are maybe 1-50 that you pull an 85-89 but maybe 1-1000 you pull a trout

1:50 that you get a newly upgraded qs diamond.
1:500 you get anything worth pulling
1:1000 for gatekeepers
1:2000 for trout

And this is perfectly legal because you still technically have a 1:50 chance of landing a 5k qs diamond.

They should have to give pack odds based on diamond tiers. Then more people would stop buying the darn things.

This is how all these games get away with it since the law passed they have to give odds. Just be happy they aren’t as bad as ea is with madden and add in secondary currency every few weeks to get players to spend money because the secondary currency packs don’t have odds since you’re “not spending real money” but the only way to get the secondary currency is by using the primary currency or buying it anyway. At least in the show I can get a decent team without grinding all month to buy that one card who’s just going to see another upgrade next month when the secondary currency changes again and the grind starts all over. I pulled over 20k packs this year and didn’t pull a single limited card in madden, I’m probably a solid 2k packs in on mlb this year and have pulled 3 diamonds. 2 Freddy freeman, both times after he dropped below a 90, and a Bryce Harper.

These games are all about the micro transactions bottom line and the easier they can trick people into thinking they actually have a shot at any of the top tier cards the more they make.

Your 1/50 shot is probably for an 85 and the odds just decrease from there but sds doesn’t have to tell us because 1/50 for a diamond is the odds. It’s all really misleading advertisement that they’re able to get away with because of loopholes in the laws surrounding micro transactions in games.

I don't get why people can't just appreciate the craziness and uniqueness of the play. Baez had two choices:

1. Keep going to first base, get tagged out. Inning over, or
2. Tip-toe back towards the plate and see what happens.

Should it have worked? No. But it did. Enjoy.

All the first baseman had to do was tag the bag... it’s way more on the first baseman being a complete [censored] than javy doing anything smart.

It was a force out, even if the run scored first it wouldn’t have counted anyway.

Stop being a salty Sox fan. Most people would either stop running or try and juke out the first basemen. Accident or intentional it was a hell of a play you can’t take that the away. Pirates being horrible defensively helped a lot too lol. Take the easy out at 1st and hold the runner at 2nd/3rd

There were two outs... just tag the base and the run doesn’t count even if it scores. Baez doing what he did has way less to do with the play happening than the first baseman being an absolute and complete idiot. The run only counts if it scores before a non force out. What makes the play so ridiculous is that not only did the run cross the plate but it counted because they never tagged javy or first which is why they were running him down in the first place.

Long story short javy got lucky the first baseman doesn’t understand the game at a little league level and made one of the most boneheaded plays of all time. Let’s stop giving one guy credit for the other guy being a complete and total idiot....

Lol Ernie banks is my personal example. Man makes one fielding/ throwing error a game for whatever reason. Lastnight he threw it to the catcher instead of first two times in four games. Had to pull him from my lineup because he wasn’t hitting anywhere near well enough to compensate for the errors. I think his fielding is a 92

Bro throwing to home instead of first is user error. I don’t understand how that would be the cards fault.

Up until I put him in, hadn’t done it a single time the last two years of play. Put him in he does it twice in less than an hour of play. And I don’t button mash. Took him out hasn’t happened a single time since. Both times he did it the game made a comment about being disoriented, so I did it myself to see and it made a comment about how the runner was safe. It was very odd to say the least

It is absolutely impossible for him to throw it home without user input.... Nothing odd about it.

When I input x to throw home the arrow points that way. When I input circle for first it points that way. So when my input is pointed to first Ive clearly pressed circle and the player still throws home, and he’s the only player who’s done it to me in two plus years of play? Yeah nothing weird about it at all. It’s totally not weird that the game even makes comments about the player being disoriented but when I purposefully throw to the wrong base it makes a comment about how I made a bad play.

There’s time to correct your input while the ball is fielded as well, so regardless of what you think when I’ve pressed circle and my input is pointing at first but the guy throws home, it’s something with the game. Especially when it hasn’t happened to me in two years happens two times in four games and hasn’t happened again since I benched him after the second time it happened.

So yeah you’re right man I totally picked up a bad habit randomly for two plays and just magically dropped it the next day. Sounds logical.

Both times it happened the catcher was halfway down the first base line too like he was going to cover first on a routine grounder. Which makes absolutely no sense. So It was definitely something to do with the game.

You’re wrong. I hadn’t played baseball since high school and joined an adult league at age 27. I had to relearn just about everything. Watch the video, it doesn't look too fast, if I get 20 ABs I can just sit fastball and take a swing in the zone, that's probably 100 pitches so statistically I should connect with one and find a hole I feel like.

I mean how many no hitters have already been thrown this year? That’s 27 batters minimum. All major league starters. And I highly doubt you make anywhere near 100 pitches anyway. Youd ground out and pop out very often keeping the pitch count very low.

And by the slight off chance a ball does drop into play somewhere I’m going with pure luck not the skill and athleticism you’re attempting to give yourself.

Lol first time you swing and foul the fastball off after watching all the junk go by you won’t see another fastball again until you show you can hit the junk.

And good luck deciding between a cutter, sinker, and slider, which most big leaguers throw at least one of with a very good change up. You’re going to be sitting on 92* and see nothing but low to mid 80s junk that moves all over the plate. And you’re either going to swing and miss. Or strike out looking. I think where you’re over estimating yourself is thinking you’re just going to get a bunch of fastballs anywhere near the middle of the plate. This isn’t little league.

On the swing feedback on the bottom left. It’s pretty obvious when someone using contact swing v normal v power due to pci size. Especially at HOF, legend difficulties

No I didn't. Its been a thing for a few years now. Devs put that info out along time ago. Back to 6th grade zoom now.

Wrong again smarty pants. Last year the PC I was always dead center yet showed the opponent's timing. This year the devs said it shows the opponent's feedback location, not just the timing. The location of the PCI is supposedly accurate as far as location and timing. But hey, you know everything and are a smarta$$ to boot.

Until they admitted it was inaccurate is was broken for like 3 years. I think its far more likely to be wrong than right personally. They never got PCI feedback right in the past. What makes you think this year is any different?

It’s definitely not accurate, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve pushed up to the top of the zone or the bottom and mashed a perfect perfect, or what would have been had the pci not registered at some random part of the strike zone nowhere near where I was aiming. Happens to me at least a handful of times a game. And what makes it even more blatant is I tend to set up at the bottom or top of the zone before the pitch so when the pitch comes in low and I’m set up low but it shows I swing high I’m like what the literal [censored] just happened

They get so many hits on bs. They get hits when inside the PCI almost every time. Seager gets a hit inside the PCI maybe 30%. Kind of getting tired of working my [censored] off in this game for no rewards.

Funny how SDS thinks I will buy stubs to compete. I don't function that way. I buy stubs if I get rewarded sometimes and need an extra push. The only time I put in extra money, I pulled Sale for 70k. Haven't pulled anyone close to that and haven't put any more money in since. All not getting rewarded is going to do is see me tank down to 400 to work on dailies and 40 wins for RS reward. Then I'll make the WS later.

40 events wins, 40 more events wins, 40 BR points, then 100 BR points, 40 RS wins will net you 9 good diamonds you can build a team with or sell for collections. All team affinities packs and stubs. 2 inning bosses plus the diamond packs. Then all the stubs from the programs. You should be ashamed of yourself to claim this is pay to win. Yes some people get luckier than others with packs but if you curb your pack addiction you should be well on your way to chipper. You should at least have the AL or NL done if all your stubs went into live series collections. Stop blaming the cards for your losses..
8 have chipper and feel i am pretty decent at the game. On that note, i have been shelled by an all 42 series squad on gall if fame..
skill still rule the day even with the flaws.. Flaws of the game go both ways and affect both players. Shame......shame.......shame......

I dont understand the whole "pay to win" thing either. They literally give you stubs and/or packs for everything. The Team Affinity gives you 7500 stubs and 16 TA packs per division. Thats 45,000 stubs and 96 TA packs....plus the regular packs and the BIAH packs you get from them. Theres really no reason to pay anything and theres really no reason for people to be complaining about not having good enough cards to compete.

I mean I’m personally good enough at working the market I’ve gotten every big live series card that is trout or cole through flipping cards. But I’ve done most of the ta all of the conquest and all the showdowns and I’m yet to actually pull a single diamond player card from a pack that didn’t guarantee one. Every time I get a diamond it’s a bat or a stadium or a jersey. So I can see how some people who don’t have hours to flip the market and have horrible pack luck like me are having trouble completing anything.

And I’m only done with 2/3 of the nl

It's undetectable because the programs/ mods whatever you want to call them are run through the controller, not the console. At least that is what I've gathered

Exactly this. And even if they can detect it it’s not breaking there code or changing anything in their game so it doesn’t break their terms.

These things have been out for months on FPS games and they’re just stupid. I tried one and it makes the game absolutely no fun

Has anyone faced someone using it yet? It's pretty obvious when you play someone through 8 innings and their pitch release says perfect every pitch and they hit the corner every time. This hack is also used on 2k to green every shot on 2k. It has made it's way to MLB and its unfortunate that it did...

Just played someone using one in the event. Was dotting every pitch with Jose Alvarado who has terrible control and bb/9. I don't care how good you are, this is impossible. I have like a 3 era in RS and watch OhChev and McGunski who are extremely good with pinpoint. They couldn't come close to replicating what this person was doing.

Should be pretty easy for SDS to spot.

I’m fairly certain like call of duty sds can’t ban it because it doesn’t mess with the games coding or anything actually in game. So it doesn’t break their terms. It just codes the controller to react a certain way in game. So as far as sds sees on their end the game is being played perfectly normal..

So basically if sds can’t actually prove you’ve got one plugged in and is taking guesses they’d get sued so they really can’t make that ban, and even then I don’t think they Can actually make the ban anyway because like I said it’s not negating the terms and conditions agreement you checked off on the first time you played the game.

Now wait a minute here, "a batter needs to have a way to slow down a pitcher" ??? A batter has absolutely no control over when a pitcher is to pitch.

R2 should not be allowed to stop anything, if you want time, call time, that is real baseball. R2 should still be able to display info, but not stop the pitchers meter.

In principle, I agree with you, but there are people who pitch as fast as they can, and there absolutely needs to be a mechanism to neutralize that.

True, you can’t. However, what you’re suggesting puts one side at a distinct disadvantage. Why should one player get to dictate the pace of the game?

Because in baseball the pitcher does dictate the pace, allowing R2 to stop the play is not the solution. Some pitchers like to work fast, see Wade Miley for example, many others don't. In real life it's best to work at different paces to keep the batter uneasy. But no matter how you slice it, in real baseball pace is dictated by pitcher. All a batter can do is call for time, that is also in the game. Balks on, help elevate some of the issues about coming set, but if the batter is in the box, it is no longer his control and to expect the pitcher to throw when he is ready is unrealistic. Baseball is a game of adjustments, when I play people online, I know I need to adjust to how I am going to be pitched. Just as I know my opponent will steal a lot, hit and run a lot, bunt a lot, way more than playing the CPU.

Except for the fact that the batter can only call time once in an at-bat. The problem with people that pitch so fast is that with most pitchers, it creates completely unrealistic movement. How is this so hard to understand?

The batter may be able to call time once but he can step his foot outside the box at any time during the at bat before the pitcher becomes set, or before they start their wind up.

Just watch a little league game. The kids step out every pitch and look over at the coach for a sign.

The game is simulated based on the real life sport... the kids look over at the coach because the coach tells them what pitch to expect. People use r2 to give themselves time to think about what’s coming next. I use it and analyze the previous pitches and by the 4th or 5th pitch of an at bat I can usually smash a good good perfect perfect just by guessing which pitch your going to throw next let alone the location,

Anyone whining about r2 use is literally just upset they can’t quick pitch you and give you no time to catch on to what pitches you’re throwing most often and which locations you frequent with each pitch. Not just from at bat to at bat but literally within each at bat.

It’s part of real life baseball so it’s part of the game. If you don’t like it go play backyard baseball lol

What are you even talking about? There are plenty of people who just spam it to disrupt the pitcher. That has nothing to do with real baseball.

This is what started it all. You not understanding that batters can disrupt the pitchers timing and saying that using r2 to disrupt timing and the pitcher had nothing to do with baseball.
You then went on to try and prove how real game scenarios shouldn’t apply to the video game when all I was saying was that r2 was the equivalent of a batter taking time between pitches and wasn’t a broken mechanic.

That’s the only point I made was that r2 wasn’t broken. And it’s not. The pitching mechanic is. If the pitching glitches because of r2 then it’s the problem with pitching not r2, you take r2 out and they just find another way to spam you or make the game annoying just like madden. But instead of understanding that you went on a tangent trying to prove how I was wrong and you were right when once again the truth was we both believed the same exact thing just had different ideas for fixing it.

You need to get off your high horse and come back down to the farm django. You’re so obsessed with being right or thinking I want to be right when the truth is I don’t care I’m going to play the game and find a way to enjoy it no matter what, you guys are the ones who are having the giant issue.

Why not make a 5-7 second pause between pitches and just let the pitcher pitch through the info screen. That’s in all reality the easiest solution.

Everyone wins every way around. You can spam r2 all you want for all the info you want and the pitcher can throw as fast as he wants within reason of an actual game standard.

Yes. Yes he does. I find it hilarious that he’s come out for exactly what I advocated for just moments after I said it after telling me multiple times that I think R2 spam and quick pitching are totally cool. Dude is a useless tool.

I’ve been advocating for it the whole time but you’re too busy arguing that stepping out of the box doesn’t happen in a real game to realize i think r2 spamming and quick pitching are both stupid but when used against me I’ll use them right back. It’s funny how I’m the one who loves to argue but you’ve all been making my whole point for me over and over again and don’t even understand or realize it. You’re so busy trying to be right or win an argument that you started in the first place. Since the jump I’ve been of the opinion quick pitching and r2 spamming are dumb. But since I don’t believe the r2 mechanic should be merged the pitching should be fixed, you continue to argue with me and prove why I’m wrong when we’re both arguing the same thing in a different way.

Why not make a 5-7 second pause between pitches and just let the pitcher pitch through the info screen. That’s in all reality the easiest solution.

Everyone wins every way around. You can spam r2 all you want for all the info you want and the pitcher can throw as fast as he wants within reason of an actual game standard.
