I don't get it. I play for an hour and a half just to lose on the last boss and then have to start all over. And this is fun? At least let me go back just to the last boss. At least reward me for making it this far. Make me pay the entrance fee again, fine. But make me start over and slog my way through another hour? There is no joy in this.

I'm not much of an online player (only 3-1 in ranked season games), but I am enjoying the current event. I have a question:
It seems rude to use the quick menu to adjust my lineup and manage my bullpen since the opponent can do nothing but wait. At least with the pause menu, it looks like they can work on their lineup, too. Am I right in assuming pause menu is preferred?
What do you mean it seems rude to use quick menu? LOL Yeah, maybe you should message your opponent first, and ask him if it's ok to pause....you know, get his permission first. LMAO.
Dude, grow some balls and be assertive, timeouts are timed, and both sides get an equal amount, so use it however you want without being timid.
Not trying to come down on you, just trying to help you snap out of it.
Wow. All I am saying is that at least if you Pause the other guy can work on his lineup, too. When you Quick Menu the other guy has to sit there and wait. Not sure why someone always has to be an asshole answering an honest question about game protocol.
I wasn't trying to be an a-hole at all. Wow, you really do have soft skin.
I'm not hurt, or triggered, or thin-skinned. But when someone asks an honest question about how to play the game, and you tell them to grow some balls? You might be an asshole.
94 Chipper. All 99's around him, but I can't seem to let him go.
I know a lot of us get on here to complain (including me) about the bad fielding interface, questionable hitting, and more. But here I am -- during the shelter-in-place, with baseball canceled for the foreseeable future -- in Wrigley Field, with the sun setting, the crowd cheering, facing Clayton Kershaw on a cold night, and I couldn't be happier. Thanks.

Your reward for making it to the boss is the stubs and xp gained. Thats why its called showdown. Its do or die. You died.
The reward I want is the 70 DD points.

I am not that good at showdowns. I never even won the 8th inning one against Kershaw. But, putting a closer to pitch the 9th inning one? Piece of cake. After 45 pitches or so he was throwing me grapefruits that landed in the outfield seats more often than the catcher's mitt. Just work the pitch count.

This isn't a real person
I'm real. Just a little drunk and sentimental is all. I miss baseball.
@ChuckCLC said in Tips on getting 3 XBH with Mark Reynolds?:
Took me forever. Of course they had to put it on rookie to make it harder. Unrealistic pitch speeds and a limited range on the PCI made me have to take like 40 min to do this one. All the others one try.
I agree. I cannot time pitches well on Rookie.

How about in XBH moments when slow [censored] runners clog the bases in front of you?
Good times! You mean how the pitcher is 3 for 4? Lol
Always a bad sign when the guy on first is wearing a coat.

@knoxwurst31_psn said in I think I'm going back to franchise mode:
Up until a few years ago I basically only did franchise mode, with my hometown team Brewers. I tried DD in '19 and I got hooked on it. It was great. Idk why but for whatever reason I just can't get into it this year like the past few years. Idk if it's the way they did the programs or what but I just don't have the urge to grind for stuff this year.
The other night I got off work and the wife and kids were gone and I was planning on finally playing into the night, but I played a few games and I was like meh and turned it off. I mean, I literally just spent 75K of my hard earned stubs (especially this year!) on a 50 Pack just for the heck of it and I never spend stubs on packs! In case you were wondering I pulled 0 diamonds and only 2 golds in the whole bundle. Only diamond I got was a Salvy from the extra pack you get with the 50 bundle.
Anyways this is my rant, I'm excited to get my Brewers chise going! Go Crew!
Agreed. I can't put my finger on it, but something feels off to me, too. Maybe it's the new programs? They seem kind of slow, too. I don't have the desire to grind through all the missions. As much as I like getting new cards, I think I might head over to Franchise or Road to the Show for a while.
Or maybe, it's just after three years of DD I realize these early months are kind of pointless. Why am I working so hard to get a 91 diamond card, when in a few months they'll be giving those away?

6 strikeouts...attempt 36...YES, 36. ON VETERAN!!! STILL CANT GET IT!!!
WHY DOES A PLAYER LIKE CHRIS PADDOCK WHO HAS 0 CONTACT. 0 POWER. 0 VISION....HITTING SHOTS TO OUTFIELD. BLAST TO THE OUTFIELD.
WHY HS KERSHAW GIVING UP SHOTS TO A PITCHER WITH THOSE KIND OF ATTRITUBES?!?!?!ITS THE ONLY ONE I NEED.
MOMENTS IN THIS GAME ARE [censored] RIDICULOUS.
I hate pitching moments in general, but this one has to be the worst. I'm with you on this one. I only tried 5 or 6 times, but I'll probably come crawling back...
Silly me, I turned off the game when they took a 16-0 lead.

Thwy should get rid of the 3 batter rules for 3 inning games. I have zero issues with stamina depleting fast in 3 inning games but that rule is pretty dumb for a shortened game.
Agreed. In a theee-inning game, each batter is essentially an inning of stamina. The three-pitcher rule is intended for nine-inning games, not this.
@bucklacy_mlbts said in Extreme Bullpen Coach Simulator 2022:
Warming up pitchers is kinda corny they should just be ready to go. Flipping back and forth between menus like I'm playing an rpg not a sports game.
This would be a perfect fix.
I have few complaints about this year's The Show, except...
I play mostly three-inning games. Starters are occasionally at red energy in the first inning, and relievers are tired after two batters. Either get rid of the three-batter rule, or give my pitchers more energy.
This is the first time in many years I play MLB The Show in early April without the dreadful fear of getting disconnected at any moment playing simple Conquest games. Thanks for fixing that, SDS.
I got up to 250+ standard packs, 50+ team affinity packs, and a bunch of others. Poured myself a few pints of beer, turned on the tunes, and finally got through them.
It's odd, because I hate having even one unopened email in my inbox. But 117 packs? Sure, why not?
