The easiest fix is just Have R2 a one time use per pitch simple easy done
That doesn’t work because some idiots enjoy throwing over to first multiple times and by the time the pitch is thrown I don’t even remember which pitches most starters have let alone which ones they’ve been hot with.
By the time I remember all 4-5 pitches I’ve usually beat the pitcher up enough they’re bolded textchanging guys anyway. So r2 is mainly for information. But if you are quick pitching me I will spam it until you finally slow down to a somewhat normal pace. If you’re too stupid to get the hint that’s on you.
Ahhh the truth comes out you said it but you did read per pitch right so it wouldn’t matter if he throws to 1st the pitcher still resets right? So it’s a non issue
From your last post...
(But if you are quick pitching me I will spam it until you finally slow down to a somewhat normal pace. If you’re too stupid to get the hint that’s on you.)
I see where you are at
A throw over isn’t a pitch so we’d still be in the same pitch. If the throw over counted as a pitch and reset my r2 then sure it’s a non issue but a throw over isn’t a pitch so in game they couldn’t code it that way.
Am I correct when I say when you throw over to first you Have to select your pitch again in game?
If so then it resets and is a non issue
I don’t think you understand how coding works in a game though. The menu might reset but the in game counter still shows the same number of pitches thrown. It would be a coding nightmare and I’m sure is the exact reason they didn’t do things this way.
I believe they had it in previous games R2 just one use one time I don’t know why they changed it. Maybe it’s like PlayStation ruining party chat invites smh if it ain’t broke don’t fix it

Why not make a 5-7 second pause between pitches and just let the pitcher pitch through the info screen. That’s in all reality the easiest solution.
Everyone wins every way around. You can spam r2 all you want for all the info you want and the pitcher can throw as fast as he wants within reason of an actual game standard.
Why would anyone need 5-7 seconds between pitches? I believe 3 seconds is excessive. What are people doing during that time? Charting pitches and analyzing breakpoints?
I mean do you watch baseball the average pitch time between real pitches is over 20 seconds but I’m an idiot.

They did have it and it was broken the exact way I said. If you threw over to first I couldn’t check pitches anymore until after you delivered a pitch to the plate. You could throw over to first 10 times and then deliver a pitch before I could check the info at all again.
The problem occurs when the in game coding doesn’t register an actual pitch, the r2 mechanic doesn’t reset, when the r2 mechanic is tied to once per pitch it only resets when the in game coded pitch counter rolls over to the next pitch. They’d have to find a way to code the r2 mechanic to every time the pitcher throws the ball or something, but I highly doubt they have a counter for that in game.

That could work but again I think they’ve got it tied to the actual in game pitch counter when they do that. That’s why it’s how it is now, not tied to anything and can be used as much as possible.
It’s why I said the pitcher after a certain time frame should be able to pitch through the r2 menu. Both sides get what they want, you can quick pitch to a degree, I can take as long in the box as I want but if I miss a pitch it’s my own fault.

I’ve been advocating for it the whole time but you’re too busy arguing that stepping out of the box doesn’t happen in a real game to realize i think r2 spamming and quick pitching are both stupid but when used against me I’ll use them right back. It’s funny how I’m the one who loves to argue but you’ve all been making my whole point for me over and over again and don’t even understand or realize it. You’re so busy trying to be right or win an argument that you started in the first place. Since the jump I’ve been of the opinion quick pitching and r2 spamming are dumb. But since I don’t believe the r2 mechanic should be merged the pitching should be fixed, you continue to argue with me and prove why I’m wrong when we’re both arguing the same thing in a different way.
Talk about being a total tool.

Why would anyone need 5-7 seconds between pitches? I believe 3 seconds is excessive. What are people doing during that time? Charting pitches and analyzing breakpoints?
I mean do you watch baseball the average pitch time between real pitches is over 20 seconds but I’m an idiot.
Sure, when batters need to look down for 3rd base coach signals, readjust batting gloves, dig out better footing, and practice swing. Remind me again which of those things people are doing on this video game?
Remind me why the batters are actually doing any of this in the first place though..... I’ll wait.
You mean checking signs? Like if a hit and run is on, or a take sign, or a bunt? The user controls all of those on a video game.
Digging out better footing to have a better base for swinging? Readjusting batting gloves so they have a better handle or grip on the bat? None of those are transferrable to this video game. That is unless people are toweling off their controller, and readjusting their sitting position in between every pitch.
Practice swinging is assuring the hitter they are not dropping their shoulder, affirming their swing plane, and maybe moving hand position in/out. Are players doing any of that between pitches on the game?
I dont get what you are trying to imply. Can you explain why someone would "need" 5+ seconds in between pitches on a video game? I personally cant see what someone would be doing in that amount of time.

So you didn’t dig out your footing when you stepped up to the plate?
You need a sign from your third base coach for every single pitch not just when the situation changes?
You’re adjusting your batting gloves because they’re falling off your hands right?
Batters do a lot of this to dee like they’re controlling the game. I played baseball through high school and I’d always step out and just take a second to calm myself and think about what’s going on in the at bat or what pitch might come next. Maybe that’s not how you played but that’s how I did. Getting the sign and stuff was just part of the game but I made sure between each pitch I took my breath calmed myself and was ready to go. Shoot me for doing it in a video game too lolSome people just want a breath between pitches. Some people like to stop and think about what’s going on. Not everyone processes information as quick as the next. There’s batters who don’t even step out of the box at all during an at bat besides when the count dictates needing a new sign. So that should be the norm right?
I love how everything’s so black and white with everyone in this community lol

R2 should not be allowed to stop anything, if you want time, call time, that is real baseball. R2 should still be able to display info, but not stop the pitchers meter.
In principle, I agree with you, but there are people who pitch as fast as they can, and there absolutely needs to be a mechanism to neutralize that.
You are allowed to have your opinion, but I disagree. If they want to pitch as fast as possible, so what, doesn't bother me.
Well, it’s not all about you.
Nor is it all about you. So fact is you can't make every one happy.
True, you can’t. However, what you’re suggesting puts one side at a distinct disadvantage. Why should one player get to dictate the pace of the game?
Because in baseball the pitcher does dictate the pace, allowing R2 to stop the play is not the solution. Some pitchers like to work fast, see Wade Miley for example, many others don't. In real life it's best to work at different paces to keep the batter uneasy. But no matter how you slice it, in real baseball pace is dictated by pitcher. All a batter can do is call for time, that is also in the game. Balks on, help elevate some of the issues about coming set, but if the batter is in the box, it is no longer his control and to expect the pitcher to throw when he is ready is unrealistic. Baseball is a game of adjustments, when I play people online, I know I need to adjust to how I am going to be pitched. Just as I know my opponent will steal a lot, hit and run a lot, bunt a lot, way more than playing the CPU.
Except for the fact that the batter can only call time once in an at-bat. The problem with people that pitch so fast is that with most pitchers, it creates completely unrealistic movement. How is this so hard to understand?
The batter may be able to call time once but he can step his foot outside the box at any time during the at bat before the pitcher becomes set, or before they start their wind up.
Just watch a little league game. The kids step out every pitch and look over at the coach for a sign.
I’m talking about in the game, not real life.
Only because I’ve got nothing better to do -

Why not make a 5-7 second pause between pitches and just let the pitcher pitch through the info screen. That’s in all reality the easiest solution.
Everyone wins every way around. You can spam r2 all you want for all the info you want and the pitcher can throw as fast as he wants within reason of an actual game standard.
Do you just argue to just argue? But please answer my previous?
Yes. Yes he does. I find it hilarious that he’s come out for exactly what I advocated for just moments after I said it after telling me multiple times that I think R2 spam and quick pitching are totally cool. Dude is a useless tool.
Quote me saying that then, mouthbreather.
You’ve been arguing the whole time about how real game mechanics shouldn’t be applied to a video game. But let’s keep arguing because you’ve got nothing better in your life than to be right on a video game forum,
When the reality is if you just took a second to step out of the box yourself you’d realize you’ve been trying to tell someone who agrees with you they’re wrong the whole time and that person only looks like an idiot because you misunderstood them and took a conversation about how quick pitching and r2 spamming are stupid down argument road for no apparent reason.
But again I like to argue, are you going to keep it going or?
Quote me, then. If I’ve been saying that, surely it’ll be easy for you to find an instance of me saying as such.
The frustrating thing about you is that you’re unwilling to actually listen to anyone else. Plus, you keep accusing me of things I never said. And I’ve asked you a number of times to show me where I said what you’re accusing me of, but you can’t. Because you’re pulling things out of your [censored].
So did you or did you not say I’m talking about in game not real life? Cuz I mean I see it there plain as day and it was in response to me talking about a batter being able to step out of the box as often as they’d like

So like I said because my real life example didn’t fit your narrative of the game you automatically assumed I was arguing against you but really you were just arguing with me for no reason because the reality is I also think quick pitching and r2 spamming both are ignorant but if I need to will use them when used against me.So once again take your gold star and whatever w you think you won arguing with yourself over someone who agrees with the exact same you do just sees it a different way. But rather than try to understand that you’d rather try to prove your right over a moot point talking about how someone else is the idiot. Congratulations man I’m proud of you!

The context was what led to me even saying that being it’s a way for batters to slow the pitcher down.
But let’s totally ignore that in favor of making the narrative fit your point. You just have to be right so bad man I truly feel sorry for you. Even after I’ve said multiple times we both think the same thing you’re still trying to prove you’re right. Talk about dull. Have a good afternoon buddy.
