I've had 5 conact swing home runs in the past 2 weeks. They've all been at the spring training ballparks versus the CPU-controlled live series teams, in Diamond Dynasty in 9 inning games, on legend difficulty. I use normal swing for hall-of-fame difficulty. Power swing has generally been too difficlt for me.

Has anyone else noticed more contact swing home runs in this year's game?

The players I used were live series Jake Cronenworth, 91 Jasson Dominguez, 91 Dexter Fowler, 84 Lewin Diaz, live series Vlad Guerrero Jr. (today), and 84 Keibert Ruiz.

Yes it is….it was far worse before and they supposedly patched it.

I personally think that higher durability could likely make a player more successful and consistent throughout a longer season. I also think that plate discipline could likely help "stick skills".

I would think that a lot of video game characters, specifically "build your own" characters, can be extremely sensitive. I also think there could be things about attributes that we don't necessarily know yet.

Does anyone have thoughts about this? Take care!

You earn the archetypes by completing the archetype programs...bronze programs award silver archetypes at 100...silver archetype program awards the gold archetypes...gold archetype programs award the diamond archetypes. There are paths for each gold/diamond archetype. None of these are salable nor earned in any other manner.

You can get various avatars after finishing certain games and then equip them.

When you enter to Road to the Show click on Settings the select File Management then select Delete there you can delete all.
To start a new Road to the show on the main page of MLB the Show 21 select Road to the show do not click X right underneath of it shows the square icon so click the square button then New.

I had Mondesi on my OOTP squad - he raked that year and was league leader for steals. Sadly I was the A's and after his contract was up I couldn't afford to keep him...

He is a kind of an under the radar guy right now but he could break out soon.

This is first year of a new keeper league with 5 keepers for next season.

Alec Bohm could be a good one! I've heard to not put his baseball card in the bicycle spokes. How do keepers work in a keeper's league?

Each team gets to pick 5 players from their team before next seasons draft begins and they get to keep them on their team instead of being reentered into the draft pool.

Within the past hour, I've only figured out how to load a select group of legends and apparently all live series players to a team of my choice in roster control. I remembered a video that content creator, Movie Gaming TV made about 3 months ago on his YouTube channel, and I found it. The title of the video is: "Doing THIS One Drill Will Make You A Beast at Hitting MLB The Show." When I tried it, it only let me select from a relatively small list of legends under "Free Agents" in team scrolling, and I think any live series player is available, but my Diamond Dynasty team was not listed in the available teams to add players from.

Regardless, I still had fun taking batting practice against a hard-throwing, CPU-controlled, current LHP with a couple of players who are on my Diamond Dynasty team that I was able to select to the Giants as a saved practice roster, like Griffey Jr. and Reggie Jackson.

That video I mentioned by Movie Gaming TV explained a lot.

Yes. He threw the split 3 times to 3 different bathers and got 3 K's with it. Although one bounced and Sanchez did not block it and the hitter was able to get to first before the throw. He only pitched 11.2 innings this year because he had covid. So expect those numbers to go up next season. It's a pretty nasty pitch. It's got serious movement with obviously plus velocity.

What i hope it effects is the ability of SDS to shift closer to a physics model. The processing power increase should allow them to create an even more realistic baseball reaction off the bat, with more precise outcomes. Meaning, we wont be locked into "canned" plays like the line out right at the outfielder, outfielders running into the wall, the foul ball HR, or any of the animations that seem to occur far too regularly.

Even the weird CPU "dive" RNG -- in which they sometimes catch the ball, but just as often dont....can hopefully be exchanged for a more realistic CPU AI that reacts more like a real fielder. Only a few guys in the league would actually dive for a line drive in the outfield...and when they do, its usually a catch. I cant remember the last time i saw a guy dive for a ball in the outfield just to have it bounce around on his glove and drop....in real life. If they dont trap it, they catch it -- mostly because its a very rare play, that usually only the best fielders try.

So, yeah, i hope stuff like that is fixed. I would think PCI placement and pitch speeds are already faster than human reactions, if you have a decent set up, so im not sure that can get much better. Maybe the new controllers will feel better, but even that may be more about personal taste than anything.

As for Xbox vs, PS5. Those XBox elite controllers are real nice. I dont think you get better than that. Just talking about the standard packed in controller, though -- I just prefer the Playstation form factor and the new PS5 controller looks like a nice upgrade -- but thats pretty much going to differ person to person. Some people just like XBox controllers better. They are both pretty good these days. Im not sure one is better than the other. I use them both and ive never noticed much of a difference beyond their form factor.......but again, its very subjective.

Its all very exciting though. I cant wait to find out!

If you use analog Gray is a nightmare with his windup.

id say get a few cheap ones to practice with (Louisville slugger makes some cheaper ones)....then move up. And if you crack one barely, tape it up with medical tape and use it for tee/cage work. I used tar and batting gloves, occasionally wrapped it in medical tape as the earlier guy said. Its cheap and it works well. The lizard skins are before my time, but id guess it would suck removing it.....bc the tape was hard enough if you weaved it lol
