What's the biggest disappointment for you this year
-
The thousands upon thousands of XP I'm not getting because I'm already maxed out.
-
Baseball ... if I didn't like or played baseball I'll think that's baseball ...
-
Meter pitching feels way more random this year than last.
Too many late line drives and early pop fly HR's. Too many slightly early weak ground balls to 3rd and slightly late weak pop flies. P/P is like 60/40
400 innings for ranked - dead mode
Events rewards are trash and selling for less than LS Arenado
12 free 90's + lack of stubs in circulation + lack luster collection rewards (90% quit if someone sees a 99 unit) = pack ripping a lost past time
No daily program that gave rewards instead of useless XP
Game has been on mute since 4/1. Announcers are dog shite. Go get Don Orsillo from next door SDS.All while Madden officially committed suicide this year and 2k with early hype and a big drop off.
TF is going on with deez guys?

This. No aspect of this game is enjoyable at this time.
Probably best to stop playing the game completely and play any other game. There's a lot of great games out there.

Sports games are just getting to a point where they are so money driven, the games are being driven into the ground. Most of the companies don’t even realize how obvious it is too. Combined with participation trophies for everyone, this game is starting to feel like a simulation in conquest. Just put your team together and see what the game decides.
-
LMFAO you guys don't seem to get that the mode you all love so much is in fact the mode that ruins/ruined this game, so not all sports games.
Kick out DD and bring back online franchise would solve all the problems
-
The loss of extra innings mode. Especially since we got nothing in its place. PS 4 users totally disrespected. No stadium creator although we were welcome to pay the same price as the people who got it. Ben Dover Special
-
Gameplay is largely the same, so the big letdown for me is the massive reduction in packs/stubs as rewards.
It's still early days for '22 so I hope it gets better along the way. Kind of doubt it'll improve much though as that seems a very deliberate decision they made.

I turned commentary off day one.
I miss Matt and Plesac. -
Commentary inaccurate and boring and repetitive, hitting, baserunning is slow, stupid baserunning IQ at second again, superhuman fielding and throwing by even rookie CPU outfield, dumbing down of the monthly XP programs, couple other things. I love the game but it’s time to make some more effort to make the game better beyond just copy and pasting it year to year. I gave them a pass last year because of the pandemic. That’s not an excuse this year. It’s a disappointing start; maybe it will get better. I’ve always considered MLB to be the best bang for your buck sports game, but it appears that they are taking some of that away this year. It’s not a good look for SDS.

Biggest disappointment for me is this forum. Game has not been out a month and it's doomsday special around here. I get some things are frustrating and have changed, but we have only seen one program.
The DD stream emphasized the there would be way way way more rewards. Just seems like people are jumping the gun way too quickly. Did it ever occur to you that this time last year you couldn't have a Gold on your team due to people completing TA so quick?
Don't get me wrong i did enjoy the TA being seperate, but in same breath i did not like the time limit on the programs mostly due to people have work schedules, family and other life events. It should carry over for those who can't play every day. But that started last year so it was expected this year as well.
But like i said it's still early and they have shown mass improvement the last two years with content no reason to think this year is different. Just to early to get bent out of shape.

BS pack odds, Super CPU fielding and commentary!
-
I’m still not sure if my runner on 2B should be dancing around and distracting the batter. If only SDSwould offer some guidance in the matter.
-
RTTS is a giant let down.
-
Bro I tried to intentionally hit a batter and got a perfect.... the ball went right down the middle lol

I disagree with your assessment that online play has to be the anchor, because nobody wants to play offline exclusively. I could go the rest of my life without ever playing online and be happy as long as they provide enough content offline to keep me busy. I love the idea of online play but for all the other reasons you stated that I totally agree with, it is no fun.
I'm not a very good player. I'm still new and I really don't enjoy playing online where I have to watch 3x the amount of pitches I swing at. Of course that's baseball and if you want to succeed that's what you do....to me it's a total snoozefest. And so I get antsy wanting to swing the bat and boom, I strikeout or pop up. That's my fault, but when I play a friend, we have an understanding to try to pitch like you would in reality, not always throwing the ball 5 feet high to exploit your opponent's lack of experience.
I'm trying to get better, but I'm not playing this game to scratch some major competitive itch. Give me a mic and a battle of the bands for that. This I do to swing the bat, play as legends, try to collect and complete everything and connect with my favorite sport.
For all of you competitive online players, it bums me out that the aspect you love doesn't work. For me, a mostly offline player, they gutted content by getting rid of TA and since Mini Seasons still doesn't work, there's just not much to do. 3 weeks after pre release and I'm sitting around waiting for the next program.
And the commentary is so bad. It almost feels like a revenge play against all the people who complained about Matt V and DeRosa. Today I gave up a single in the first inning and on the next batter I'm "trying to preserve a perfect game?"
Yes, we may all be jumping the gun, but isn't a game supposed to be at it's best in the beginning?
-
The complainers are the worst part.

The problem with this is that you lose out on cards and are way behind if they get the game fixed. I've played a ton and not even remote to sniffing collections so won't even try. They're not dumb, they know there are issues. They'll get some sorted out.
-
My biggest disappointment is them taking 3 weeks+ to fix an unhandled server exception error for their brand new game mode. And they are just now finally reaching out for info about it, and I'm sure nobody stuck in my position will be able to get the Longoria before the rewards change.
