I was having a rough up and down night in Ranked tonight. A few brutally ugly low scoring losses. Ending up getting my 30 wins(31 now) but ended the night at 843(after a high of 863). Decided to move to Events for some less stressful, more offensive games.
7 games in. I’m 6-1. I have been dashboarded on 4 HR in 50 mins. This is why I complain. What are we doing people? Try and compete. Or take a loss like a man and do the respectful thing and quit when it lands. So many soft opponents out there. I complain because this stuff happens to me every night. I don’t get dashboarded and lose 1-2 HR a week, I lose several every night and yes I care about stats.
I have played this game A LOT the past two years(my first years playing DD). I have dashboarded my opponent’s exactly ZERO times. I have had it done to me hundreds of times with no exaggeration. Hopefully one day @sds can address this and resolve it. A no doubt HR should count once the game goes into that animation.

I’m right there with ya bro. I have never committed the atrocity of dashboarding. It’s been done to me hundreds of times. I’ve quit plenty of games, some even before the first pitch, but never that dashboard.

Sorry, I don't play online very much at all, but does dashboarding mean they go to dashboard and quit before the HR hits the ground, so you lose credit for the HR? Or does it mean they go to dashboard and just stay there forcing you to wait them out or quit on your own?

You had it correct with your former statement… they quit and you do not get credit for the HR

this guy quit on me
he scored 4 runs at the top of the second...i came back in the bottom half 4-3...and then hit a 2 run homer and he dashboardedhttps://mlb21.theshow.com/games/441658379?username=Qwesty16

So in the case of the guy above me, if you are losing 4-3 and hit a 2 run HR to take the lead but the guy dashboard and quits, do you still get the win? I know you don't get the HR and 2 RBI but since he quit, you get the win right?

It’s really annoying, man. One of my last event games, the guy R2’d me all game long and paused about 17 times to try to quick pitch me when unpausing. I never went to his level, never replayed homers, then he dashboarded on a Trout homer. I’m a pretty tolerant person, but I lost my cool and sent him a message, “Play like a fool, get wrecked like a fool.”
It was a rage text (not proud). I probably exacerbated a problem because I’ll bet these guys play like this thinking that everyone else is toxic.

Just want to point out that people also complained about players being locked behind making World Series or flawless……cumulative wins is the problem.
People got what they wanted and now complain about people quitting at the first sign of adversity since they don’t give a rats as about losing because of cumulative wins.

Cuz more than likely they are getting screwed by the lousy game play. And are tired of it. Tired of seeing garbage players, not at all saying you are, your rank speaks for itself. But I get so God dam tired of all the [censored] making the perfect pitch u want in the dirt just hanging over the plate. Or squaring up balls and lining out to first.
-
I relish the dashboard W more than any other.
Picturing my opponent weeping, throwing his controller and kicking his cat is like Ambrosia for my soul!
Haven't dashboarded ever.
Never will. -

But if that was a justified reason for dashboarding than I would have done it to my opponents hundreds of times. It’s a person thing, not a gameplay thing. You’re either a decent person or a D bag.
The Shopping cart. You either take your shopping cart to the designated staging area after you’re done with it or you leave it in the middle of the parking lot like a D-bag. There’s no law against it, you will not be punished, you’re just making things inconvenient for the other members or society for your own lazy benefit.
Don’t Dashboard, put your cart away.

This is also a go-to defense for dashboarding. I’m beating these scrubs anyway, they’re not “giving” me anything. Play it out or quit respectfully.

So if other people complained and SDS changed something and now it affects players like me who didn’t complain, I shouldn’t complain? Got it.
Also, this happened a ton last year too so what’s your explanation for that since players were locked behind Flawless and making WS?

Thank for humoring me on this one. if they quit (not friendly quit) after the HR registered and the score change was made, putting you up 5-4 would you still consider that dashboarding and would that be bad?

That’s a respectful way to quit. If for any reason you don’t want to or can’t continue a game, this is what you should do.

Thanks, I don't play online often and when I do it's usually only 3 inning events. But should I get bored and want to try something new, I wanted to keep these unwritten rules in mind, so Thank you.

I have a whiteboard on my wall. Whenever someone dashboards on me, it goes on the wall of dashboards, which I call the "wall of shame". Here, I have recorded all dashboard against me (for the last few weeks) by player and the type of HR dashboarded. Here is how the wall stands just for the last month or so:
Ken Griffey Jr: one 3R HR, one solo HR (both RS)
Brian Reynolds: one solo HR (RS)
CJ Cron: GRAND SALAMI (RS)
Jorge Posada: 2R HR (event)
Mickey Mantle: 2R HR (event)
Kyle Tucker: solo HR (event)I actually quite enjoy getting dashboarded now cause it helps the list on the wall grow.

A win is a win right? Am I the only one that doesn't care if someone dashboards? I do it sometimes just to be petty and don't care what anyone thinks about it. I literally don't care about your stats and I don't expect anyone to care about mine. It's a game that has no bearing on your life.
