I only play offline and the servers went down briefly last night and I lost credit for a conquest win.

Mainly Moments, player programs and conquest.

If I am being honest though I am kind of burning out. As a Cardinals fan, who only plays offline, not being able to earn either the 97 Pujols or 99 Musial myself hurts a little. Sure, I can dish out maybe 350K in stubs to get them both eventually but that breaks my bank and is just kind of unsatisfying.

Then going into Topps now and seeing four players that I don't really care about and seeing that Adam Wainwright did not even get a moment for his Maddux Game (9 inning complete game shutout in less than 100 pitches) kind of bothered me. There have been 8 no hitters this season but only 2 Maddux games that I can find. Seems a little rarer than the usual multi-hit game or a walkoff homer moments. I understand if they did not want to give him a card but they could have given him a moment.

They removed it most likely because stats count in that mode now. You would just have Yetis grinding all over again

I don't know why this company does this with moments. I have a very hate type relationship with moments in this game and the last one so I decided to check out just how stupid things are.

Using the TN Adam Duvall moment, I played it 18 times where you have to get 8 total bases. I did it decently quickly but that isn't really the point. So in those 18 times I have done the moment, not completed, just the moment itself I saw 29.7% strikes. This is on veteran difficulty. I was walked 12 times mostly because I was trying to take a lot of pitches to see what would happen. I struck out 4 times and had numerous hits. I was also beaned 3 times. All 3 times with 2 strikes on me.

So then I jumped into play VS CPU and played vs Atlanta and Mac Fried. In those games, I only played 3 but the whole 9 inning games and faced 73.1% strikes. I drew 1 walk and wasn't hit by a pitch.

This speaks absolute volumes for me on how absolutely stupid these moments really are.

I know, I have no life but I just thought I'd share this completely useless info.

When actual data is compiled and analysed like this it is so much more convincing and satisfying to read than the usual (justified nonetheless) complaint posts. Thank you for thinking to and going to the effort of doing this.

Moments really are the ‘busy work’ of this game. I would also add Showdown, Conquest and Events to that category. In fact, anything that detracts from playing actual baseball or team management (ie grinding) could be classed as busy work (the purpose of which is to keep the player engaged in the game without giving the opportunity to learn anything new or improve any skills). That ain’t baseball.

At least conquest is busywork that doesn't result in high blood pressure .

And you can complete missions and get PXP in Conquest. The fact that you can't in Moments makes them even more annoying. I actually liked it better back in TS18 when you had a million individual game requirements and insane stat grinds - I didn't love that, but it was a lot more satisfying than this. (Anyone remember Daniel Nava?)

How dare you bring up his name. I had nightmares over that mission. When I finally got it done, I went on a profanity driven tirade because I was so glad it was done.

I was concerned about the no cards at end of Conquest games but more i examined the issue the new system will end up netting you more stubs then the old system UNLESS you get super lucky and get a diamond and let's be honest that was super rare.

The Gold Rookies = 6 of them -- even if all you do is quick sell them for 1k is 6k - this is just the lazy heck with putting them up for sale if you did that it would net you MUCH more at this time but even down the line ( month plus from now ) prolly going to be like 1.5 to 2k per PLUS )

6k Stubs (lazy way ) will net you more then if you sold each card from a run. only real downside is you will have to use the market more to complete collections early on then using the cards from those rewards.

Yea I bet they make online and and an offline path to prestige a player so offline players aren't excluded

As far as i know, there is no way to control jump, we are at the mercy of CPU RNG. Believe me, I'd love to have control, i can steal a lot of bases in player lock, because I know when to go.

Some gaming news sites claimed it in Dec, all we've heard from SDS is xbox and Nintendo.

It's really pathetic that people have to bash, talk down and about people on a video game forum.
If everyone would just scroll past a post that they can't/won't contribute in a good way things would be a whole lot better.

There is no offline stat grind now so it makes no sense. I just want to play with my best team vs a team that is close to my overall. I dont want to play a stacked up team vs a bunch of gold, silvers and bronze players. Right now, there is no point

Contrary to normal baseball IQ, the only count you can consistently steal on vs CPU is a two ball count. The cpu will not pitch out on a two ball count, but will occasionally throw over to catch you after you’ve left.
