This is something that has annoyed me in the last 2 or 3 versions of this game. Finishing the missions for the Jackie Robinson card today and I have to play the double header with my DD team vs the super charged Dodgers. I enjoy those moments becauase I get to use my team so that's good but I have my maxed out CAP hitting leadoff and in each of the 3 games you have to play I noticed this yet again.

Leadoff man has loads of speed, way fast enough to steal. I wait for the first 2 pitches without taking a lead, trying to steal or anything and the pitcher throws 2 pitches, 1 strike and 1 ball. Then I decide to run on the 3rd pitch. I tap L2 and shockingly, the pitcher throws over with no lead. Like maybe it knows I am trying to steal. Wait for another pitch, now it's 2-1 so I attempt to steal again and this time a pitchout.

Skip ahead to game 2, almost the same scenario. 1-2 count and for the first 3 pitches of the AB, nothing at all. Then when I hit the button to steal, it again throws over and then pitches out. It absolutely annoys the [censored] out of me that the game KNOWS when I am going to try and steal because if I don't the game just doesn't care about the runner. Sometimes it will try to pick off and yes throw pitch outs but if it didn't care for 3 pitches, why does it do it when I try to steal like it knows what I'm doing.

Anyways, a quickish vent and now I'm good!

Don’t hold L2 until after the pitcher has completely come set. I find that helps. But I agree — it is frustrating that the CPU is way more likely to pitch out when you’re stealing.

Stealing vs the CPU is almost impossible I swear. Everytime you go to take am extra step, within 0.0005 seconds it's thrown over to 1st.

Contrary to normal baseball IQ, the only count you can consistently steal on vs CPU is a two ball count. The cpu will not pitch out on a two ball count, but will occasionally throw over to catch you after you’ve left.
