Great post. Super informative and helpful.
You guys that are holding R2 the entire time your opponent is trying to pitch are really a special kind of bad person.
Maybe learn how to win a game without cheating? You might find it actually feels good.
Look. There’s nothing wrong with being able to hit. The problem is the check swing non-calls and the strikes on corners not being called strikes.
Expand the strike zone that the game umpires actually call strikes, and call it a strike when the batter swings half his body around.
You are the one that is delaying the game. He is only trying to counter you.
The sportsmanlike thing to do once your opponent sees you are taking an extra step lead and throws over/steps off a few times, is to stop taking an extra step and move your runner with the bat.
Nice flex.
Personally, I don’t see where skill is involved in determining whether an outcome is good squared, good good, perfect, or good ok, but if it makes you feel better about it, sure.

It's not the tv. Been using the same system for years. It's the 1.4 patch that screwed things up
You know what else? If a player needs to have a gaming monitor to hit a fastball, the game really should come with a disclaimer.
All the power to you guys who want to get sweaty staring at a monitor up close, but many of us actually want to enjoy just playing the game.
If that makes me “casual” in your eyes, so be it, but ragging on a dude because he wants to play a video game on a tv while sitting on his couch is pretty lame.
It really motivates me to grind through the lower levels, knowing that the reward at the end is even less satisfying gameplay.
It’s not just the pitching. The game creates opportunities for the trailing team.
Not all of us want to play every out of a game against the neon pink uniformed, DJ horn blaring, bunt dancing, quick pitching, up and in fastball spamming tryhards.
Enjoy your easy win if your opponent quits. What’s with the desire to penalize your opponents? They’re already taking a loss.
What amazes me is members of this community who are unable to be objective. Chuck has been a mainstay on here for years and is a great example of what is possible in this community.
Instead of calling him a whiner or a cry baby (which is the stock response to posts critical of the gameplay on here), you guys should be asking yourselves why veteran players of the game going back to 2015 are fed up.

@halfbutt_psn said in 99th percentile = 59 speed?: You’re probably right. Maybe they save the good/more accurate attributes for juiced “prospect” type diamond cards. God forbid that we should actually use LS cards to play the game with. Well last weeks didnt help you, but todays roster update got him to 98 speed!!

I’m stoked! 25 STL is a bit weird at 9 for 10 but I guess they need to keep his OVR down.
Where is Peña at?

People complained about perfect/perfect outs last year too. I am not saying that nothing has changed this year but lets not pretend that perfect/perfect swings were ever a guaranteed hit, let alone a guaranteed HR.

If you guys remember, when perfect perfects were introduced, it was to address the numerous good good or good ok swings going for outs.
Perfect swings were said to be guaranteed home runs with 85 power or over. Then it was adjusted to be 85% chance of home runs. Now it is basically the same as the good ok and good good swings.
The input doesn’t matter that much. It’s a simulation.
The game is a simulation. Your input doesn’t matter that much.
Sadly, the game is a “simulation”. I wish someone would create a baseball game that was based on input.
The pause menu does not show how your opponent pitched you last at bat in a second or two.
Anyone holding R2 longer than that is either telling you to slow down, or trying to make you miss your spot.
@halfbutt_psn said in 99th percentile = 59 speed?: Let’s hope. Even the 71 Chuck predicts would be somewhat of a let down, but I guess at least they are consistent… if not consistently accurate. I was saying that tongue and cheek, hopefully its better. Astros have Jeremy Pena but I am not expecting much on the first update for him either. Who knows.

Currently he’s in the 99th percentile for speed according to stat cast so I guess we’ll see!
Just a fan post here. Julio Rodriguez leads the league in stolen bases, has elite sprint speed, and yet has 59 speed in the show?

@halfbutt_psn said in How to tell you're gonna lose a game: As a new to ranked player, recognizing and taking pitches was hard. It’s still hard, but I’m better at it. I’m not even playing the game this year, so it’s moot. Once I started feeling like I was competing against the game AND my opponent, it stopped being fun. It is hard, but what happened to accepting that as a challenge? Not addressing you personally, but everyone wants to be good at everything right away. It doesn't work like that, not with video games and certainly not in life.

I agree with you, but life is too short to play video games that I don’t enjoy. I’m having tons of fun attending high A games instead.
