T Mobile won’t let me play online!!!!
  • crash447_XBLC crash447_XBL

A year or so ago I tried the T-Mobile home internet thing. I knew that theoretically it shouldn't be great service, but I live in an area with very few options and it actually performed decent. Until one day I could not get anything to work. A restart would get some things working, then it would stop. They replaced the gateway, but same thing. I finally set up my old provider and then found an article online that actually helped fixed everything for T-Mobile.

I have always believed in separate modems/routers, but they advertise that "gateway" as an all-in-one and say not to connect it to a router. But when I connected it to a router and just used the gateway as a modem, everything started working fine. The same thing worked for my coworker. If you have an old router sitting around, I would try plugging that gateway into the WAN port of the router.

  • Can old people make World Series?
  • crash447_XBLC crash447_XBL

I think it is definitely harder, but not impossible. Reaction time/vision is a real thing with age. I am 45 and each year I have climbed to right around 800, but I typically stop at that point. The game just is not as enjoyable to me past 700. I think I could push on past 800 ( at least previous years), but choose not to. I know there are plenty of other people better than me, so I definitely think they could make WS at an older age.

@x814xmafia There are two flash sales currently going. One is a jumbo pack for 10k and the other is a bundle for 75k. The funniest thing to me is one of the packs in the bundle is a millionaire pack.

I'm sorry, but is a new conquest map really "new content". I will admit that my opinion of "new content" is different than others, but simulating hexagons is the same to me no matter the shape of the map.

  • RS Matching Up With Bronze Teams That Don't Try?!?!
  • crash447_XBLC crash447_XBL

Has anyone been matching up with teams full of bronze players in Ranked who do not try? This happened once a week or so ago, happened to me yesterday and has now happened twice today. So it is now my last three ranked games.

They have all been XBOX players (can't turn off crossplay because I'm on XBOX) with different usernames but they seem to pick the Coliseum if they are the home team. They let balls drop, throw the ball around the infield and for the most part just try to bunt. Essentially I have to just start making outs to get four innings done and have the mercy rule called. It was fun the first time or two, but more than anything I don't want to get called for "boosting". These games are always a close match in rating. I am over 600 now, but they are all very close matches in ranking.

@MetalDoc17 said in XP Cap and Offline Players:

@crash447 What is your record in BR, if you don’t mind me asking? You say you are “bad”, so just curious. I know I will be far from having a winning record. I avoided online for many years because of bad server connections and internet in my area, and I just struggle with the idea of trying it again. I have great internet now, but I’m just very negative about it. I became a much more casual offline player in sports games many years ago. I have very few connection issues ever with PVP shooters, but sports games have always been very laggy and not enjoyable.

I don't know overall, but going about 3-2, 4-2 is pretty common for me. I will have some 1-2's and almost every season I will have a 0-2. A few years back I would get the 8 win mission almost every season, but I did not get it once last year and this year it is down to 7 wins, but my best run was 5-2. In my opinion, BR games are considerably different once you have a loss.

  • crash447_XBLC crash447_XBL

@Easy_Duhz_It_ I can definitely see that. It used to bother me and still bothers me if I lose a game I feel like I could win. But once I realized that winning AND losing is part of baseball, I started having way more fun online. I also just realize a lot of people are better than me and that is okay.

  • crash447_XBLC crash447_XBL

@Teak2112 I am 45 years old and I play Co-Op with my 19-year-old son who plays college baseball. I am definitely not a good player and it is evident to me more and more everyday. A few years back I would have called myself average, but I truly don't think that is the case anymore. More of my point is that BR is not expensive. Even if it took me twice as long, that is 10 entries and 15,000 stubs which is easily made up by rewards and packs.

  • XP Cap and Offline Players
  • crash447_XBLC crash447_XBL

@Doctor-Fauci910 Bad player here...I am on entry five and at 99 points. Just need two more pxp (so one at bat) and the program is done. It has cost me a total of 7500 stubs which can easily be offset by one or two of the golds you earn. For 7500 stubs I will earn...

    4 Silver
    4 Gold
    4 Diamond
    1 Flawless (No Sell)
    Lots of packs
    Stubs
    XP

The biggest misconception in this game is that BR takes a lot of stubs.

  • 2024 is the worst iteration since I started playing in 2016
  • crash447_XBLC crash447_XBL

@KingJonEric I completely agree this game plays better now than it will later in the year, due to the lack of high overall cards. But I don't think I am the only person who thinks gameplay is better...actually I know I am not. It is far from copy/paste...fielder urgency is different, balls blocked by the catcher are different and more realistic, pitching is more challenging, hitting seems to provide more realistic outcomes based on PCI location and timing (I am not talking about hits/outs...but EV, launch, etc.) I guess some might not find it better, but definitely not a copy/paste.

  • crash447_XBLC crash447_XBL

@DivineFury75 No, I didn't at all say everyone should play exactly how I play. I am saying it is more balanced than it has been in years. I just looked and there are XP bonuses in Mini Seasons and Conquest Maps. I haven't done the math to see how many XP bonuses are in offline modes versus online modes, but I don't really care. As someone who has played this game a lot, both offline and online, this is the best balance I have seen. I also have zero problem with XP being easier to obtain online than offline, because it is significantly harder to manipulate things online.

You can also play the game as you want to play the game. Progress may be slower than if you play both offline and online, but you can still make progress. It is the same thing for an online player when it comes to something like the "Spring Breakout Program". I think it can be completed all online, but it will take much longer to keep getting the repeatable mission. If I want it done quicker, I will have to play offline. This is different than previous years when you truly had to play a certain way to finish programs. The XP complaint is not about completing programs, it is about how fast they can be completed.

I am an average player at best, but play quite a bit online. It is significantly more enjoyable to be versus playing against the computer. Even if I get destroyed, it is better than just beating up on a computer. The last two years of this game were 100% catered to offline players. I spent countless hours doing meaningless offline tasks and was left with hardly any time for online play. This is the first year I feel like I have been able to just load up the game and play the game. In my opinion, it seems that you get rewarded for playing...not manipulating.

I haven't paid any attention to the XP caps as I have just been able to play the game and have fun, but I will say that I think a daily (or weekly) XP cap is needed. If not, people will just load up CPU games and play at max elevation stadiums for the simple purpose of getting more cards.

  • Can someone explain for me
  • crash447_XBLC crash447_XBL

There are just three seasons as opposed to six from last year. That makes this year's seasons significantly longer. You can't roll over your entire set of cards from this season to next, but you will have four wildcard slots. Apparently, they open through the XP path and you just start with one.

With seasons being longer this did not seem like a big deal to me, but it seems to really be bothering a lot of people.

If i have 20M Fans, i should be able to select as many places as i want to take over that would legit cut down the time by half.

    Nope, instead SDS is like,

you have to sit there and watch the boring screen for an hour and a half lol

Surprisingly, SDS actually made a huge improvement to sim times this year. It used to take at least twice as long to sim each hex. but I completely agree -- it takes way too long and there's really nothing strategic about it. Just build up an army and sim, reload, repeat. If there was more to it than just click and wait, I think that would be kinda cool

I agree….they did a great job of improving the sim times. I just still don’t understand how this mode relates to a baseball game. People always tell me “it’s like Risk” and “you get all these free packs”. That still just does t help me understand how it relates to a baseball game.

People also say there really isn’t anything new they can do with the game. How about a conquest type mode that doesn’t involve hexagons and numbers, but involves random attacks where I have to shutdown the heart of their order with my ace or I have to score a run in one inning against their ace.

  • Event parameter Ideas?
  • crash447_XBLC crash447_XBL

@OreoRockstar_PSN said in Event parameter Ideas?:

I’m all for variety and getting the meta pitchers where guys game the system and pitch them every game out if most events.

Personally I would like to see more HOF events as I really don’t play much RS any longer and 3 inning HOF is perfect to me.

I would even like to see the option to play AS or HOF for every event. I am fine with the same reward path. It is really hard to get good at online HOF if you have to battle into 700 to start playing there. I don’t play enough RS to grind to get there and then get in enough games before it resets again.

  • I really wish SDS had some competition
  • crash447_XBLC crash447_XBL

I thought ‘21 was bad, but I have been playing it a lot lately. There is a significant drop in gameplay from ‘21 to ‘22 and I know ‘21 was down from previous years. They have intentionally done this, it is not by accident.

  • Event parameter Ideas?
  • crash447_XBLC crash447_XBL

@iBonafideScrub_ said in Event parameter Ideas?:

Anything that doesn’t include Signature or Milestone pitchers.

Facing Randy and Nolan Ryan every ranked game is enough for me, I’d like to play events to just swing the bat for 3 innings without sweating.

The truth is you are probably facing them less in RS than Events at this point. At least rest is forced in RS.

  • Can we give SDS some credit…
  • crash447_XBLC crash447_XBL

I have never noticed things upvoted much around here and didn’t even realize it was a problem. I see people say some of the best stuff that the entire community agrees with and it might have five upvotes.

  • Event parameter Ideas?
  • crash447_XBLC crash447_XBL

I liked most events last year. “Switch” event was my favorite. I also like things like Sig hitters versus Awards hitters.

I do not like in any form the any player format (team 95). I would prefer where the average doesn’t matter but cards are capped at 95. These events are just getting really, really boring. I guess they have been all year, but the expectation that something different might come has really gone away.
