@hoffsdrawlar_psn said in Perfect with 125 power should be a HR no matter the ballpark...:
That looks like it was affected by pitcher confidence. The pitch was 97 mph and the exit velocity was probably less than that. Pitcher confidence should not affect exit velocity in my opinion. The pci size should be reduced instead.
Pitcher confidence should have about 1% of the current impact it does in this game. A guy shouldn’t give up one hit and suddenly pitch like he is a little leaguer who has never stepped on the mound before and a strikeout should not mean he turns into Kerry Wood in his 20k game.

If you swing at every single pitch, you should not be rewarded consistently. It’s absurd that if you get the timing down of a repetitive video game, you are excused from actually playing baseball. id love to play you mate - ill walk all day, get my runs that way, and when your guy throws the odd strike - i'll crush it to the moon and make you watch the replay

You are not the player he describes. You describe yourself having plate discipline, which is not what he is talking about.
This felt like the most random experience I have had with this game in two years. I honestly couldn’t tell what was going on most of the time. I quit playing it after five wins and decided I wouldn’t touch online again until after the weekend was over. I felt like I needed a reset and I absolutely loved Moonshot last year.
My kid felt similar. He is a better player than I am and he came in my room on Saturday night and said, “Dad, what did you think of Moonshot?” I had intentionally not said anything to him, because I wanted his genuine opinion. He goes, “I don’t get it….I can’t hit at all and I can’t get anyone out. I have never had this problem. I can’t do this…I will just buy Salmon.”
I’ll throw Bo into the mix here.

You are correct about that. I am not employed as a paralegal. So you post on a public forum saying something is confirmed, but are unwilling to provide the source? Again, thank you for being so helpful.
Last year was my first year to play and I realize cards were super easy to obtain and the market functioned like a stub making atm, but I think there were some things that were definitely better in 21…
-commentary was a million times better -daily moments reward path -team affinity was a lot of fun -player and evolution programs -there were missions but not everything was tied to pxp
Things I feel are better in 22…
-slower rollout of high nineties -mini seasons is a great idea -earlier rewind packs are making cards easier to obtain for the masses -Topps Now and MA moments are not as time consuming -dedicated BR mission rounds are great and the mission players have been top notch
Gameplay is pretty bad on both, but overall I think 21 was a touch better. Pinpoint was a bit too overpowering in 21 but it is too inconsistent in 22. My batting averages are higher in 22 but so many hits are just weird.
About ten different threads that have been talking about it for hours.
I'm all about this fix...add Vladito to my group of Papi and Schwarber who are trying to run to Tokyo. I think they are scared they are going to miss the start of the marathon!!!

It's my first season and I get lucky to score 2 runs on a ranked season game in the low 300s. Kinda makes online unattractive to just get smoked by much better players. I'd love to play events, BR or RS but don't really see the point if I'm playing playing against people who think the difficulty feels like slow pitch softball.

This is my first year to play. I started the year playing mostly offline. Would play a ranked game here and there. Finally started playing events and BR and it helped more than anything. Personally, I think they are the best way to get better at the game. One thing about them is that a loss in Events and BR really isn't a big deal. With ranked you don't want want to see that ranking drop, but with the others it just isn't a big deal...especially with events which are free entry. Also, with Events and BR you get a wide variety of competition. You get to play some worse than you, some at your level and when you put together a few wins, you will play someone significantly better.
I don’t know for sure, but I used that TN Grandal a lot last year. I always keep a second catcher on my bench. Last year it was Realmuto and right now it is Dalton Varshno TN. I try to keep a speedy catcher on the bench so I can pinch run without needing two moves. I guess I am saying that I will use low speed guys, but I try and have a clear plan in place for if they get on base when speed is needed.
I completely get the point. The point is that Santana is someone that people love in this game. For many they love his swing and that he is a switch hitter. He has way more value behind the plate and he played parts of many seasons back there. The point is throw the community a bone and release a Santana card where they can give the catcher secondary. That is fine if it can’t be a 2019 Awards….release something they can. I get they can’t make everyone happy and release the exact card that everyone wants….but I completely get where OP is coming from. Especially when they gave Schwarber a catcher secondary last year for a POTM card. He didn’t even play an inning back there and has spent way less time back there in his career than Santana has.
Hard to say without knowing how you pitch. I think there are a lot of ways to pitch effectively in this game, just like the real game. It all comes down to keeping the opponent off balance. I always take a batter or two to see if I can figure out my opponents approach at the plate. Are they a free swinger, do they have good plate discipline, are there certain pitches or locations they can’t lay off, are there certain pitches or locations they are sitting, do they struggle righty righty or lefty lefty. From there I develop an approach and I continue to adjust as needed. Also remember that timing trumps pci placement, so I would always try and make sure you are mixing pitches and not allowing them to just time up similar pitches….meaning don’t just feed sliders and changes or sinkers and four seams. If you do this, they will have much better success just because they will have an easier time getting their timing down.
I have no clue how SDS determines secondaries, but I still think the most ridiculous thing from last year is that Schwarber had a catcher secondary for a POTM card in a season he didn’t spend an inning behind the dish. Pretty certain they will do it again this year and I will just repeatedly bang my head against the wall.
I have hit decent this year, but once I hit HOF you only need a sinker to get me out. That thing feels twice as fast as an outlier fastball no matter who is throwing it. I have hit Keuchel decent at AS, but at HOF it feels like Nolan Ryan became left handed and developed the greatest sinker of all time.
-pinpoint is not near as accurate this year (random floaters over the plate) -timing seems to be way more important than PCI placement -way more diving plays this year -slower rollout of 99s…still getting mainly 95s and now some 96s -conquest sims are way faster -event lineups are saved -there are dedicated Gold, Silver and Bronze rounds in BR drafts for mission players
Nothing from this season of ranked is on the app or website. Hoping it is resolved before the new program launches.

POTM has just been a check the box thing for me. I agree with you on the program not making sense. I made that comment a few weeks back and was basically told I was crazy. I have plenty of stubs so I can rent players, but if someone doesn’t have extra stubs for that, it is just a weird design…just like the Always Intense and other programs. It just doesn’t make any sense to use the cards you are going to earn to actually earn the cards. I truly have tried to understand the design and I just can’t. Can’t believe I am saying it, but I much preferred “beat the Tigers on All Star”…and I will take stat mission any day.
My kid is 17 and absolutely loves this game but is hardly playing this game this year. He just doesn’t have stubs to do things like rent players and he wants to actually play games, not constantly earn pxp to earn the cards.
To answer your question on actually using a POTM. I still use Joc as a LH bench bat. Rizzo and Devers I have not.
