There’s no organization in the world as big as a baseball team that doesn’t have an HR department. The Astros have an HR department. MLB has an HR department. The MLBPA has an HR department as well as a safe channel to raise issues. Heck Fiers released his bombshell with a couple other anonymous players so clearly it can and could have been done anonymously. I understand what you’re saying, but there were a dozen ways that Hinch or anyone else could have anonymously spilled the beans on the situation and [censored] it down as soon as they saw it. If you’ve ever worked for a company bigger than 10 people, you know that there are always channels to report abuse. You can’t give these guys excuses. If they had excuses, they would apologize and explain themselves instead of making jokes about it while accepting rewards.

Good point and well put. He’s a bystander. But there may be any one or more of many reasons he didn’t speak up. I haven’t been following it closely, were any given?
If there’s not a good reason then bystander it is.
A couple of years ago two of our national (Australian) cricket team were caught cheating on a TV broadcast. The captain knew it was going on and said to them he didn’t want anything to do with it; he was found equally guilty by Cricket Australia (governing body) and the media and public. All three were suspended for 18 months.
Not singling out Fiers here, at least he said something to bring it to light. But anybody in those organisations that knew it was going on and said nothing contributed to the problem.

Ummm i thought that was what the Players Association was? Union Reps?
There is a PA and Union Reps, but not a true "HR type" group that you can speak to on condition of anonymity.
PA and Union would represent the players interest only, and not that of MLB. Union "fixers" exist like they do in the NFL etc, but if a player has information that needs to be reviewed by MLB, they have nowhere to go.

Hinch knew it was wrong, didn't do enough to stop it. There's a cultural issue there between Spanish players and Hinch that also was a problem in Arizona. That's not in news outlets etc, but it was a rift that led to him leaving ARI.
But everyone involved could have said something, and didn't. Everyone not involved could have done the same thing.

An HR department? lmao. That's your excuse. wow. Talk about making excuses for poor choices. How about the first time management saw what was happening they just decide to do the right thing and put a stop to it. You don't need no stupid HR department to tell on your own players. Hinch and Cora got what they deserved. Actually they got off easy. I would of Pete Rosed them.
