I don't want to see any Astros flashbacks for MLB 20. These disgracefull cheaters don't deserve them. If I see one, it gets beaned automatically.

Welcome!
Some unspoken rules of the game for ya.
- no bunt dancing
- no dashboarding
- try to go easy on the pause feature
- Don't throw from left/center field to first base.
- If you get down a couple runs, don't quit. You'll never improve your game.
- don't expect a friendly quit when your down several runs in the middle of the game.
I hope most of you are mature players looking to play straight up and not some cheese fest. We'll see.
Just read an article that said the team has agreed to wear masks and not go to bars/restaurants during the short 2020 season. Hopefully this helps Trout make a decision to play. I think it's great. All teams should make this pledge for a safer and better 2020 season.
If they turned on balks like the way the game is supposed to be played, you all would be really crying. That's how this game used to be played. And it made the game so realistic. when you loaded the bases and got nervous, some people would balk. I even did that. With a runner on base, you needed to come set with your pitcher.
So just stop crying over this R2 thing. Some people don't want to play rapid fire baseball. they want to relax and enjoy playing.
For coming out about the cheaters. It would of been better to come out when it was happening but at least we now know.
And Who knows how long it would of went on and the more technologically advanced it would get. That's not the baseball I want to watch and support.
You're right. The top players are sore losers. They will blame the game when they lose. I remember watching pitching rebels stream couple years ago and he was blaming the game when he was losing. It's always been like this. This is why I don't care who the top players are. Means nothing. I have more respect for the average player who plays straight up and doesn't quit when losing.
And the followers who send messages to you, they're even bigger losers.

If you guys had participated and stress-tested the servers accurately, we wouldn't be in this situation.
It's YOUR fault!
B.S. They're a gaming company. I'm sure they research this stuff. They knew doubling the amount of players was going to overload the servers.
I think the idea was for us to have a starting pitcher in the bullpen for when our starter got rocked. Gives up 5 or more runs early. We have someone so we don't burn our bullpen. or when we go into extra innings. We have a starter there to finish the game for us.
But people are already abusing this. My opponent brought in Greinke in the 4th inning when he was already leading by 2 or 3 runs. His pitcher still had plenty of stamina left. There was no reason for him to do that. This is how were going to play the game all year? That's not how baseball is played.

I usually use buttons no meter. I know it's the easier method but I'm used to it. Played my first online rated game and Will Smith pulls Freddie Freeman off the bag twice on dropped third strike throws.
If they made this defensive option more prone to errors, I'm going to have to switch.
Is the meter harder this year? Do I just need to hit any part of the green or is middle best?
The meter is harder this year than years past, the green zone moves depending on your defender and how they are moving. I’ve always used meter and it took me a solid 2-3 ranked games to really get used to it. It’s hardest in the outfield when your defender is on the run.
I’ve never used buttons for throwing so idk how it compares but there is an adjustment period this year for meter.
Thanks for the info. I will go into practice mode and try it out before going into online play.

Good to hear, I'll be playing on Tuesday after work.
Same as last year? worse? better? Graphics?
Any bunt cheesers?
Is teeing off on the Red's like teeing off on DeGrom?
@JiggidyJJ_PSN said in Can you get early access if you pre-order the standard edition?:
Disregard, I found from another post it has to be Deluxe. Dang it! I preordered the digital standard thinking I would still get early access. Trying to figure out if I can simply upgrade to Deluxe, I'm on the playstation store, but not having any luck. Anyone know of any easy way to simply upgrade the version?
Same mistake. You would think that you would get early access for pre-ordering any edition since they get your money early. But that's not the case.

No. Only the deluxe editions. Not the standard. The standard edition gets the standard release date. It wouldn't make sense to have an early release date for all editions because that would just be a release date.
I have never pre-ordered the deluxe edition and I've always had early access. It would make sense. If I'm pre-ordering, I'm paying for the game before I'm able to play it, before official launch.
No...if you pay for the game, you're paying to play it at launch. If you pay EXTRA for the game, you're paying to play it 4 days early.
But I'm paying early. Why should I pay early and not get to play early? I should of just ordered after launch when I'm ready to play. There's no point in pre-ordering the standard edition.
