Possibly a 99 Bob Gibson? I don't think anyone considers him endgame even at 99 overall and he currently only has a 90 overall as his highest card.
I'd also really like a Lou Brock card. His highest is a 74 overall rookie card. Again he is not an end game card in most cases so holding him back does not make a lot of sense.
You know better cards for these two are coming. So it is a matter of when and where and now that they are rolling out 99's getting these out sooner makes sense. In a few months they won't move the needle for anyone except diehard Cardinal fans.
Now that I think about it a better there are a lot of legends on the Cardinals that are most likely getting better cards.
Gibson, Musial and Pujols are probably getting 99 cards.
Edmonds could get a better card than his current 94
Lou Brock could get a mid to upper 90's
Ozzie possibly gets a card better than a 93Please. Your Cardinals theme team (or your main squad since you seem to care less about anyone else) is already loaded.
You've got 5 90+ starters in your rotation.
Red Sox? 2
You've got arguably the best closer in the game in 97 Helsley.
Red Sox? 88 Eovaldi. Lol.
But I forgot. There's a large market bias! Or not.
So because there are a lot of good Cardinals in the game he should want more Red Sox and not his own team? I can understand if he was making claims that this game is unfair to the Cardinals, but all he did was answer the post with players he'd like to see. You beat us in the WS twice in a row. Where does this Cardinals hate come from haha
Anyway, I'll bite and list a few Red Sox I'd like to see despite them being my least favorite team. Again, only because you beat us twice.
Pedro- needs a solid H/9 and a good pitch mix.
Sale- I know we already have a 97 so this is unlikely...at least right now but I loved his 99 last year..
Mookie- loved his awards card last year
BoggsCardinals I'd like to see 99s of-
Bob Gibson
Lou Brock
Jim Edmonds- not really boss worthy but I love his 94.
Stan the Man
Pujols- I know there is already a 97 and 99.
Arenado
OzzieOther cards I'd like to see as bosses-
Hershiser- Dog days of summer (Credit @SaveFarris_PSN )
Dibble
Rickey H
Gossage
Wagner
Gwynn
Mays
Banks
Chipper
Etc etcDon't forget Lee Smith. He was an inning boss last year and a fixture in my bullpen for several months.
Good call. Yeah I loved that card.

I disagree that people don’t consider a 99 Gibson “endgame.” He usually gets a pretty dominant card. That doesn’t mean he won’t get it soon.

99 Terrence Gore
92 AL Gore!
Contact/Power vs. Righties almost zero
Negative Vision and Accuracy
Good Discipline
Great Speed (oh wait, that was his son. sorry…) -
Probably mantle with 75 contact vs both sides

Joe Jackson…sans shoes.
I would love that card!
I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man... Who gave you the yoyo...
Is that the Joe Jackson we're talking about? I'm pretty sure it is.

Did I try to claim that they Cardinals were any better or worse off than any other team? No.
Did I say that others could not advocate for their favorite teams and players? No.
But if I was going to advocate for other teams it would not be the Red Sox. As of last week the Red Sox were tied for the 4th most legends and flashback cards of any team in the game. Cardinals were like 12th last week but are probably higher now with Molina and Topps Now Montgomery.
If I were advocating for other teams I would be advocating for the Royals, Rays, Brewers and White Sox. As of last week they all have fewer than 20 flashback and legend cards each. That is between 9 and 12 fewer flashbacks than the Red Sox.
And here here are the counts as of right now.....
Red Sox - 29 Flashback and Legends
- 22 Diamonds
- 4 Golds
- 2 Silvers
- 1 Bronze
Cardinals - 26 Flashback and Legends
- 21 Diamonds
- 3 Golds
- 0 Silvers
- 2 Bronze
And just to show that neither of us should be complaining
Brewers - 17 Flashback and Legends
- 13 diamonds
- 3 Golds
- 1 silver
There has not been a Brewers Legend card released since the game came out, so I sure hope there is a Brewers player involved. Second straight year there is not a shortstop version of Robin Yount all year (he came out in November last year, as CF card was the same collection reward). Prince Fielder has only had the exact same All tar verison Brewers card the 2 years he has been a legend. It sucks being a brewers fan with this game

99 Retro Roid Tatis Jr
Also, Pedro would never have outlier.

Imagine the uproar if the Bosses from this program were 99s of Mantle, Mays, and Aaron and you could only choose one.

Unfortunately, this community “uproars” about everything.

The community might freak out, but this is an easy one for me.
100% Mantle and not looking back. Besides being a Yankee fan, dudes a switch hitter and I like his swing. I think they'd all have similar attributes as well as 99s so its all preference really.
Think the biggest factor for some people is the type of card for future collections.

It’d be great, but …
A. It’s never happening (barring a reprieve direct from Manfred)
B. If you’re gonna do it, and you don’t for the FIELD OF DREAMS program…
If we’re going for maximum troll, then why not this Future Stars card to go against the Madden debut?

Also, Pedro would never have outlier.
Why not? Walter Johnson has gotten Outlier and his fastball topped out at 88-91 mph.
I want Pedro to get the dominant card he deserves. As a Top 2 pitcher of his generation, it's frustrating to not get a card worthy of his greatness.

Radar guns were not around when Walter Johnson pitched. He was the hardest thrower of his era, but any estimate of his actual velocities is at best an educated guess.
None of that is true with Pedro. He won’t and shouldn’t have outlier.

Classic. I love the Feller motorcycle test, but that’s not reliable whatsoever.
If you’re interested in that kind of thing, I suggest checking out ‘Fastball’ on Netflix. They address Walter as well.
