So This could be a complete coincidence and all in my head... but I play the game at my apartment and my girls. At my girls I suck! That’s where I play most of the time too. But the couple times I’ve played at my place lately I’m 9-0!! Come back to her place and can’t win a game again. The internet speed at her place is significantly better and I’ve noticed my pitch meter is significantly faster there. Could this be affecting my hitting too? I noticed I wa[censored]ting the fastball well at my place then couldn’t catch up all of a sudden at hers. 9-0 is just too large of a sample size, gotta be a reason I’m so much better at my place than hers. Any feedback on connections of internet speed to success?

Could be worse, in Australia our all-Fibre network that was partially rolled out by our previous government was abandoned partway through its rollout by the new government and replaced with a supposedly superior part fibre, part copper, part coax mishmash of different technologies across the country.

Still better than the US where a bunch of Oompa Loompas mine coal and grind a massive wheel to keep their internet going.

Ping is likely the culprit...go to Speedtest.com and see which one is lower.

I’ve played in so many different connections across the country over the past few years and from my experience, internet speed has been less relevant than ping.

I doubt you will ever convince me that better internet is not a detriment in this game. You could ping the same site from her place and yours from a computer and see what your ping times are. I would bet hers is quite a bit lower. Could be wrong but would be interesting.

Are you playing on a different screen? Her tv may have bad refresh rate or it isn’t on game mode. That or you play on monitor at home and tv at her place?

Ping is more important then speed. You can have gig speed and trash ping and be worse off then the guy with 20mbps and 40 ping.

Depends on if you have a mac or pc. With mac, you would do a traceroute. With pc, you go to Run, cmd, ping espn.com or another site.

This is true. Internet speed doesn't affect online gaming, ping does.

As I’ve gotten older, my ping isn’t as consistent as it used to be. My ping used to flow like a river. Now it’s as if its blocked or something and it just kind of drips. I should call my ICP to see if there’s anything that can be done. Wait, Is it service or cervice?

Yes, call ICP http://www.insaneclownposse.com/ about your dripping ping. I would love to see how this plays out.

A lot of people refuse to accept this ^^^ ping and bufferbloat are more important than download / upload numbers. You don't need much to run a PS4.

Yep. Mine runs mostly fine on DSL. ( I live in the sticks) My ping isn’t the best at 50-75, but it is doable unless the guy is on the west coast and he is home.

I have a ping between 10ms and 17ms. Is that decent? Never knew what this was, but always questioned whether the lag was on my end or the opponents end.

That ping is good, now you need to test your bufferbloat.
