Internet speeds make a difference?

Ping is more important then speed. You can have gig speed and trash ping and be worse off then the guy with 20mbps and 40 ping.
This is true. Internet speed doesn't affect online gaming, ping does.

As I’ve gotten older, my ping isn’t as consistent as it used to be. My ping used to flow like a river. Now it’s as if its blocked or something and it just kind of drips. I should call my ICP to see if there’s anything that can be done. Wait, Is it service or cervice?

Are you playing on a different screen? Her tv may have bad refresh rate or it isn’t on game mode. That or you play on monitor at home and tv at her place?
Yes it is a smaller older tv

Yes, call ICP http://www.insaneclownposse.com/ about your dripping ping. I would love to see how this plays out.

Ping is likely the culprit...go to Speedtest.com and see which one is lower.
I’ve played in so many different connections across the country over the past few years and from my experience, internet speed has been less relevant than ping.
A lot of people refuse to accept this ^^^ ping and bufferbloat are more important than download / upload numbers. You don't need much to run a PS4.

Yep. Mine runs mostly fine on DSL. ( I live in the sticks) My ping isn’t the best at 50-75, but it is doable unless the guy is on the west coast and he is home.

I have a ping between 10ms and 17ms. Is that decent? Never knew what this was, but always questioned whether the lag was on my end or the opponents end.

That ping is good, now you need to test your bufferbloat.

WTH is bufferbloat?

I see a lot of info recommending that folks utilize a ping to determine their speed/latency. While it can be a good measure in the right cases, the best measure for a game is if you ping the actual game servers of the game you are playing, and not random sites. You can have minimal to no latency to 8.8.8.8, but high latency to MLBTS game servers. This can go down a rabbit hole of troubleshooting and things ISPs and their contracted carriers do to manage routes and bandwidth you can't control, and there are things folks can do to help within their home network as many have stated; but understand that a simple ping to the Internet is not the end all be all and may not tell you anything helpful.

I went down the rabbit hole. Apparently I may have bloat. Did a test and it came back rated a C.
But I did find out that apparently my ping and d/u speeds are better on wifi vs ethernet on the PS4 Pro. I've always been hard wired. I'm going to try it on WiFi tonight and see if there's any difference.
