I haven’t had that this year yet bc I’m still a scrub, but in past games I’ve had that exact thing with both the ASG and Home Run Derby. I’ve literally had it say I won the home run derby in July without it even giving me the option to participate

I definitely noticed the cost of tokens went way up. I was only two or three seasons into my RTTS on MLB 25 last week and there were several attributes in the 70s that were between 6-10 tokens to upgrade. But now in MLB 26 I have my AA player in the 50s attributes and several are costing 5-10 tokens already

I guess I kinda thought it was going to work like last year’s version with just more variety. How it’s working now, it kinda makes several of the perks not worth the coins. If I can only boost the perk about 25% or 33% of the options listed, why would I bother ya know? I’m hoping this is something that can be changed easily to allow more variety and to upgrade within the perk to the max options. It makes the game more in-depth and adds other fun to hitting fielding and baserunning

To those that have spent good coin on perks:
Is the perk system different this year than you were expecting? I think I had a different understanding of how it was going to work and so I’m confused if it’s a glitch/bug or if this is how it was designed. For example, the perk “Life Line” has three options to upgrade: the count options like 0-2, 2 strikes, batter behind, any count; bases empty, runner on 1B, runner in scoring position, any runner situation; and 0 out, 0 or 1 out, 1 or 2 outs, and any out situation. Then at the bottom of the screen there is the contact boost 30%, 40%, or 60%; plus an option of adding exit velocity boost, drag bunt boost or decreasing fielder reaction time.
I thought this meant if I decided to upgrade the out situations from 0 out all the way up to any out situation, that would count as 1 upgrade of the 4 upgrade slots on the perk. But it appears to count as all 4 upgrade slots thus rendering all of the other perk options unusable? Which to me seems like backwards progression from last years perk system.
Does anybody know if that’s how it was designed or if it’s just bugged at the moment?

Did you get it to work? I followed other’s instructions and just kept spamming it and got in several times until it turned out perfectly how I wanted it. I’m sure it’s just an error code backend somewhere with how many people use the app.

I’d like to thank everybody who commented on this topic so far. I thought I got some weird error code but you guys all summed it up for me pretty well. This is the first time ever that I’ve gotten an XP cap. Which I’ll say is good and bad for all the reasons you all described. I can’t grind like other people bc I work a very odd work schedule that fights my other responsibilities before gaming. So for me it sucks there is a cap, but I guess that means today was the first time I was able to sit down and play for a while which is the case.

I was maybe 60-70 games into my rookie MLB season, and I had “back soreness” that I got pulled from a game. The on screen blurb said I was injured and would have to sit out a few games. It loads me back to the menu, and I wasn’t injured at all. I’ve played every day since then but the game will not allow me to play consecutive games. At the end of each game, it forces me to load back into the menu and start the next game in the season. It’s been like this for a week of games and I don’t know how to fix it.
Anybody experience this and have a fix?
I have tried exiting the mode and restarting game/console, let it sit for a day and came back, nothing so far has worked. It basically is ending my desire to play it having to load into the menus every game and go through all the buttons and post game “ratings” boxes
