'Play Next Appearance' skips the All-Star Game?

After reloading my save a couple of times, I managed to win the Home Run Derby.
After saving my game, I selected 'Play Next Appearance', and it skipped to the next training session after the ASG.
I checked the 'Stats and Awards' section under 'Ballplayer', and it says I made the All-Star team as a starter. I looked at 'All Star Voting' under the League Awards section and my SP/SS is listed as the second SP, and the first SS.
An All-Star appearance is listed in the Awards section of my player profile.
I could understand not playing in the Futures game if I made the All-Star team, but shouldn't I have been able to play in the ASG?
I tried reloading my save from just after the Home Run Derby and advancing a single day at a time, but I still wasn't given the chance to play in either the ASG or Futures game.
No messages from my agent or manager, either.
Has anyone else encountered this?

I haven’t had that this year yet bc I’m still a scrub, but in past games I’ve had that exact thing with both the ASG and Home Run Derby. I’ve literally had it say I won the home run derby in July without it even giving me the option to participate
