I’ve been playing a lot of Road to the Show and noticing that no matter what, the season for the team my player ends up on seems to always be one of the worst teams in the league for many years, despite my player having great or even MVP slash lines. There also seems to be a pattern of if a game is tied in the 8th or 9th inning, the other team ALWAYS seems to hit a lead off double to the exact same place in left-center field. I am getting the impression this mode isn’t random at all, and following a script on rails.

Okay, first, did you choose your team or did you let the draft decide? If you chose the draft, bets are you got drafted by a garbage team. If so, you'll be sitting in the cellar until you can leave via free agency (or request a trade). You can be Ted Williams. If your team is full of ham-and-eggers, you're going to lose.

Next, the late game rallies are there amongst all modes. If you play franchise, you will see an unusual amount of blown saves. This is almost certainly coded into the game.

In all, I wouldn't say the mode is scripted, but there are a lot of things that seem to be coded.

@StinkyMcPooter_XBL I let the draft decide, but some times, I get drafted 25th or later in the round, so in theory, those should be contending teams, right? But even then, those teams go on 5 year periods of being cellar dwellers.

I’ve been playing RTTS since MLB the Show released their first title, this (team performance) has always been a problem. However, that’s baseball. I’m cursed to being a Mariners fan so my team is especially bad, but I think the focal point of the problem if you choose to look at it, is what moves the GMs make for the team you’re on. Year after year of RTTS and within each career I have in each RTTS title, I notice trades that make no sense for my team. I.e, last year the Mariners signed Judge for a record deal, but it absolutely gutted every other star on the team in terms of available payroll. No way in real life a GM would sign 1 guy to lose the other 8 starters ya know? I will say this year has been better, but still lost a lot of guys through free agency. After one season (so end of 2026 going into 2027) the only Mariners that were resigned (or already had a contract) by management were Julio Rodriguez, Cal Raleigh, Bryan Woo, Logan Gilbert, George Kirby and Josh Naylor. The next season the GM traded several of those names away for prospects despite us being about 10 games over .500.
It’s not necessarily that it’s predetermined, I just think it’s CPU logic. It’s computing 1s and 0s assigning values to players and it makes trades and signs/releases players on that rather than considering what it does for the teams success
