You have better readers than me. I had to pull it up on Topps.

Not sure what Jack Leiter did to deserve a card but okey dokey
Most rookies don't actually deserve their cards based on performance. But apparently Topps and SDS sees their debuts as possibly the only shot these guys will have of getting a boosted card.
All about the money, though. Fanatics sells the Topps Now cards on demand in real time, so if they think enough people will buy the card the next day, whatever the reason, the guy gets a Topps Now.
Of course, SDS still has to choose to include it in the game...

Made his major league debut. Sometimes Fanatics pushes it a bit with the Topps Now collection.

I had a few hours to play yesterday after returning from my fiancee's and found myself wandering over to Fallout 4. DD burnout is real, but so is DD ennui. There's a palpable lack of focus and urgency and vision to DD this year.
I canceled ps-plus and factory-reset my ps5 last night and will be giving it to a nephew or chucking it -- probably the latter. MLBtS has jumped the shark for me, SDS has disgusted me with its non-response to this year's launch/problems, and my life is at risk with NCAA literally right around the corner, lol. (I'm the guy who used to buy Athlon annuals to do rosters myself back in the day...)
I'll miss my Nationals and Pirates franchises, but will probably drop 10 pounds in the next 2 weeks.
Peace, all
If anyone wants to buy a used DualSense for ps5, message me!
There is an update for Fallout 4 coming for PS5 this week. I wouldn't chuck it out.
Lol, nah, that's even MORE reason to chuck it. But thanks.
Life changes incoming, turning 50 in a month, annulments nearing their conclusions, and the treadmill beckons once again...
Plus, the passing of Dicky Betts (of the Allman Brothers Band) last Friday really affected me. It reminded me that I used to spend HOURS every day decoding his and Duane's stuff on guitar, then Warren Haynes's stuff, then Jack Pearson...doing things that had palpable positive effects on my life away from the monitor.
Today it's make a playlist for cardio, one that will include the original version of "Blue Sky." You all should give that a listen...=)
Great tune. Even better considering Duane had to convince him to sing it. Wouldn't sound the same with Gregg.
Fillmore version of "Elizabeth Reed" for me, though. Best jazz jam ever by a non-traditional jazz combo. Solos are a masterclass in improv, complete with all the signalling.
Enjoy the treadmill. Hopefully you're not on one for a stress test in 12 years or so. That sucks.
But they let me go home and I hit 260K over the weekend, so there's that. Likely won't make it to the bosses, but oh well.
Filmore is the best. There are lots of versions of those sets out there. The album version is spliced together from all those takes.
I wouldn't call Liz Reed anything close to jazz just because it's not a straightforward pentatonic rocker. It's a bit modal, that's all. Neither Duane nor Dicky knew much jazz, really. Now Jack Pearson, on the other hand...
Maybe not. But its straightforward Play the Head-Solo-Musical Cue when you're done-Next Solo-Back to the Head when everyone's done structure makes it a joy to listen to. At least he's back with Duane, Berry, Butch and Gregg now.

@IrishFist412 said in Arenado or Buxton boost?:
@energystar157 Not judging you at all - Play however you want…That being said if you’re playing on rookie & veteran then it really doesn’t matter who you use. You could roll out there with a team made up of all common cards & still put up 40 runs.
Well, I can't, but point taken.
-
I'm an offline-only player. Play on Rookie or Vet. CPU controls base running because I'm not coordinated enough to push buttons and hit triggers at the same time. So, judge me as you will.
For whatever my opinion is worth, I've tried both and I love Arenado. Sanchez, Crawford, Turner, and Grandal are a blast with him.

Silver bat, what the hell
-
Kind of like practice for Season 2
-
I know this is late, but have you played past versions of The Show? The markets for 21, 22, and 23 are still active and I still get buy/sell notifications from those versions, as well.
-
I got mine with Raffy Palmeiro when the Lemurs RF fell at Coors and let the ball skip past him. I'd try the suggestions of the other folks first, though. That one is going to be tougher to duplicate.
-
I think I want the monsters back. But maybe not the Snapshots.

It continues to amaze me that while SDS is clearly trying to emulate EA and the money they make, they just pick and choose things to copy without thinking about it.
For example, EAFC (nee FIFA) has daily and weekly XP caps. Certain things you do give you XP for the season program, and once you've done them, they're gone and you can't get anymore until they reset. The XP drip feed. But, there are many other avenues to earn rewards when you play, even though you're not earning XP. Those rewards could potentially be better than the ones you earn through the season path, depending on your luck. And I think that EA has figured out that their players love lottery tickets.
It's that last part that SDS missed (or ignored), I think, and why the player base tolerates XP caps on one platform and not another.

Sorry, but if it's like last year's egg hunt, I don't really consider it a program. Anyone who doesn't play on-line can't possibly complete it. Really goes against the "play how you want" talking point.
That said, if this all didn't make them more money last year (just like this same strategy makes EA more money), they wouldn't be repeating it this year. So, for better or worse, this is clearly the game the user base wants, voting with their wallets.
Egg hunt was easy last year. And i don't play online either. It was like hit a HR in Ranked, BR, Events. Get a couple wins in BR/Events. There's nothing to spend stubs on. It's really not that hard to go online and hit a fluke HR or to even win a game. May take a few games to actually do it, but not hard. Hardest part of Egg Hunt last year was knowing what actually counted. And there were like a million videos all over the internet after day 1.
You and I define "don't play on-line" differently. I don't give Sony money for PS+, therefore I don't play on-line. And I'm not alone in that.
This means you only play franchise and RTTS with the base roster at launch and don’t do any programs. Which makes one wonder why you care about a post about lack of programs?
Nope. You can play DD without PS+. Just not BR, RS, Coop or Events.

Thanks for all the input, folks. I not only feel a bit better about the game, but from all the "One Week" references, I feel a lot better with the reminder that I'm not the only old person here.

Have you tried quitting your job?
Always an option for next season, I guess. I'd hate to jump to that conclusion on a relatively small sample size.

Five days since you laughed at me
I've got to admit, that's a lot faster than I thought someone would get the reference. Thank you, sir.
