Yeah cause a game 6 months from release needs to feel fresh again or else it will fail. Can't wait to play against children who spend day in and day out hitting xp caps with full P5 Mookie, Ohtani, Trout, Ruth, and Judge. Yeah, cause playing a baseball game against computers who cant even throw you a ball 4 as it's programed to avoid walks every day with the same repetitive nature is suuuuupppper exciting. Just like 2001 all over again before high speed internet. Riveting.
I play the game cause at its roots and core design it's amazing and baseball is amazing.
I am frustrated because the gameplay is [censored], removing earned content from your playerbase without a grace period or proper content to replace it is a moronic thing to do.I don't even hit xp caps but my God this dev team is tone deaf and blind to gamers. Make a better game with more appropriate content instead of telling people to stop playing their game. Good Lord.....
Every creative direction taken is a direction into the trash can. The amount of defenses offered to this game is absolutely ridiculous. Never have I seen a more blind and gaslighting like treatment on behalf of a developer.
No serious gamers play this game. Only devoted baseball or sports fans so of course you'll never see improvements and focus on this games engine or mechanics. 25 probably won't even be next gen ready. SDS probably has like 1-2 game developers and the rest are just there to fill a payroll slot.
It's 2024 and were are using a sets and seasons method for a $70 deck building game that rotates out your cards for the exact same ones with a different number on it. Stupidity.
I'm not sure what's funnier...the amount of crying in this post or how much of it is just plain incorrect. Let's call it a tie I guess.

I would call it a tie but the amount of stuff he's lying about is hilarious because obviously he didn't read the blog post but also don't know why he's complaining because he's said before multiple times that he only plays ranked CO-OP and last I checked you can use all cards there

That was definitely one of the complaints. Many if not most of the highly desired players (Trout, Harper, Lindor, Betts, Devers, etc) would not get a 99 until the end of the regular season when Finest cards were released.
Shoot many gamers would still have a fairly hard time building a squad of 99's in mid August as 99s only started getting introduced at the All Star break with only a couple of those players getting a 99.

Can’t forget that many of the late cycle Ranked and BR rewards would have hundreds of Million Stub buy orders so many offline only players would never get 99 Trout, etc. Unless they played those modes.

I remember that. I just can't figure out why. In FIFA, we don't start getting 99s until we're 8-9 months into the game cycle and that's probably the most profitable game in the world. So why did SDS feel the need to change (presumably to boost the bottom line) here? I didn't play the game before 20, so maybe history has something to do with it, but I just can't figure it out.
SDS probably wishes that they could.

I think that was also before they implemented the BR Program and the Rewind packs in Events.

If they don't try new things people slam them for cut and paste content every year.
When they try something different people slam them for not sticking to the old formula.
But you can be sure that two of the driving factors in their decisions are player retention and profits

'Not getting 99's until late summer' did not bother me a couple of reasons:First, unlike many of those who complained about this, I played all year long and did not bolt to Madden or COD in late summer/fall. Therefore, it was a nice reward for me to have the opportunity to earn those 99's in late summer and use them until the new game was released.
Secondly, the value of a card rating is only relative to whatever else is available. Therefore, not having 99's was no big deal to me, because no one else did either (save for a few 99's from LS collection rewards).
Regardless, the reason why we were sold "Seasons" in '23, was to accommodate "99's Day 1"... Now that the power creep is back, there is no logical reason to have the Seasons/Sets format. Innings, however, naturally supported a power creep (which I support).

I just think y'all that still play this game for multiple hours a day need to either branch out, get a real job with longer hours, and start actually taking care of important matters first.
I would assume, just based on the inactivity of these boards, that it's pretty much the same dozen people posting and wasting time.
I just check and post when I see that a bunch of rocks with eyes are finding multiple ways to argue about the stupidest [censored].

I actually liked that format. Using lower rated cards and paralleling them up.
