So, Joc Pederson gets a 98 NLDS card for going 3 for 3, with 2 Home Runs -- as a "Pinch Hitter", and yet, SDS does not give him the "Pinch Hitter" quirk. Kiki's card got it, even though most of his success came while starting. Weird. Maybe it's just an oversight?
Glad I watched it....You could not have scripted it better. A BIG win for the best game in the world.
While it looked like he checked it, you should not be checking with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th of game 5 of the DS. Either swing away, or take all the way. Never put it in the hands of the officials.
There is no need to revert back to slow pitch MLBTS18.

Joined the 30/30 club with a walkoff HR. Finished the season with 37 bombs and 50 bags. Hit .293 or so. Should be an amazing card! LFG Reds!
Yep... and he did all of that in only 129 games! Davis was also the fastest player ever to reach the 30-30 club (105 team games and 90 player games).
The card art this year is excellent, especially the Milestone and the new WC cards. Much better than some of those TA cards from last year. Good work SDS artists!

I think having a life is a tiresome excuse to be lousy at a video game If only that were the case. You can spend 10-15 minutes a day in custom practice on legend and not get better. I mean, sure, you can get better by small increments, but it doesn’t last, and if you have to do it every day to have a prayer at hitting on HOF, it is pretty lame. I can think of plenty of skills I’ve developed in life that don’t require me to practice every day to be decently good at. This game is not like that, by design. Being good at a video game is a poor excuse for being bad at life. Does it really help to practice on legend against the computer when the pitch speeds from that don't even match online HOF which is faster or much faster depending on the connection?

Does it really help to practice on legend against the computer when the pitch speeds from that don't even match online HOF which is faster or much faster depending on the connection?
In Legend custom practice mode, with maxed out pitch speed Sliders, I can (eventually) see the ball/pitch and turn on it no problem. It does, however, take some time to get the timing down and for my eyes to focus on the ball/pitch. My physical reflexes and vision (eventually) adjust fine. This extreme practice mode is still very challenging, but NOT because I cannont see the pitch.
However, in many online h2h games, I have a difficult time seeing/focusing on the pitches and timing up anything (even on All-Star at times). In online h2h, turning on many FB's while still being able to lay off the "disappearing" offspeed stuff seems impossible (even with an excellent ethernet connection and computer monitor).
For me, the online pitch speed problems are NOT just about my deteriorating physical reflexes (which is part of it), but also about poor network latency preventing me from focusing/tracking the ball/pitch. Playing vs folks overseas is even notably worse...and THIS is why I am convinced that the biggest problem in h2h gameplay is inferior network latency/ping/connection/etc., which is completely outside of the user's control.
While there is a skill gap and some players are just better than others, network connection issues are definately a part of it.

I played two games this morning between 9am-11am UKT tethered off my 4G iPhone and both games were perfect. The point of my story is when things get busier US side the issues start. Your connection helps but the servers need to be better. If anyone cares. An hour playing the show only uses about 80mb in data online. Nothing at all really.

I am curious to know how your opponents felt about the quality of those match connections? I imagine they were horrid, regardless of their network setup. SDS should implement a ping notification before going into an online match. Without dedicated servers, game sessions can have major lag and latency issues for at least one of the p2p participants, especially in matches over a large geographic area.
Whoever designed this moment has a sick sense of humor and gets pleasure by inflicting anguish in others.
In RS H2H...FB Marte, FB Betts, and Prospect Oneil Cruz. I usually do not hit well with anyone above 6'3, but Cruz is the exception.
MLBTS16 was (almost) great. However, the "bunt cheese" was a negative H2H issue. Cheesers would load their lineup with 90+ speedsters and bunt...get on base...steal...bunt, etc. Not fun. I think this is why SDS nerfed stealing (and bunting).
The thing about RS that disappoints me the most is how the timing windows vary from game to game. In addition to the various pitch speeds in different divisions, you have latency and poor P2P connection issues that makes RS gameplay quality unpredictable.

Most years I do not pull (high) diamonds, however, this year has been better than normal for me. I pulled LS Acuna with my free 25 pre-order packs, and recently, Degrom from a earned standard pack.

I don't know if its because i live in eastern Canada but every game has lag lately. I maybe have 1/5 games that work fine. I have 1 GB internet / hardwire with monitor ps5 60 fps. I can go on legend and be early in practice no issues, but yet in ranked season im late on allstar ? I have to swing before i even see the pitch here . Like it was fine at the start but now its way worst! With a game that requires good timing, good servers should be a must !!! My god this SDS team sucks .. you suck at your job !!!

Everything but the last part. It's not like SDS's programmers (and team) can pay for, and install, more quality p2p matchmaking servers...or for not using dedicated servers.
To not lessen the value of the cover athlete's card(s).
Hanley, Cargo, Cano, and Reyes are cards that played well for me and had excellent swings. Cobb, Williams, and Hornsby are also cards I would like to see come back.

Do you guys prefer events over Ranked because it doesn’t keep track of your record? I’ve never understood why there is such a difference in stress between ranked and events. People care about their record way too much in this game for some reason.
To me, your RS record is kind of like your KDR in a FPS game. I remember being proud of my spinning nuke emblem in COD MW2. Yes that is kind of silly, but competition can do that. I agree with you though, gaming should not be something to stress or worry about.

Not sure where you are getting your information, but both players were very close in basically every hitting category during May. Furthermore, Betts lead Goldy in not just WAR, but also in Home Runs, Runs, and K%. If defense matters, then Betts lead in that aspect too.

He has played gold glove level defense including several assists. No "love from SDS" is needed, he has earned it. His 95 card [should] have nothing to do with this. His 95 card has everything to do with it though
