Should SDS sell high?

Thinking SDS should sell the rights to MLB over to a better development team, preferably a sports-centric one. I don’t see how you could create an award winning game and over the course of a few years break it entirely.
They should sell while the value is there because the developers clearly have no idea what they are doing.
No, they shouldn't stop making The Show, as they've long been the industry's gold standard for creating a comprehensive player experience. They have an extremely high reputation in the gaming industry, one which many (myself included) believe to be well-earned.
One improvement they could make, possibly... is to create something akin to "Baseball School", a longish tutorial-type experience through which players can learn the basic nature of baseball, the physics of the sport (particularly the variance introduced by collision physics, etc).
Unfortunately, they'd probably have to offer high rewards for completion of Baseball School, but it sure would help clear the pollution in the forum. Only the most stubborn spewers would continue once they've actually gained some understanding of the game, I suspect.
Haha best post of the month by far..better than any of mine actually. The "baseball school" part would be such a good idea for online casual noobs...just to teach them of how baseball is as a game?. And the fact they have to go through a long tutorial which might have them go though prolly a box of hot pockets is such a good idea. This is such an eye opening post for casual noob...I hope they read this and they think seriously about it but most likely it won't but this post was a good first step.....like what I'll say for the first time...first step for noobs, long step for casuals.

Yea when coding it the first time. Listen I’m obviously not a developer and I’m sure you have a birds eye view of the issues, but briefly explain to everyone including myself why fielding works perfectly in all the other games but not this one? Can’t you just implant the old code? It’s definitely the least intricate when compared to hitting and pitching, no?
@Collin_SDS
Fielding underwent some significant changes this year.
No offence intended but don’t be surprised if you don’t get a response to this from Collin or any developer. They tend not to be coerced into defending their experience, qualifications and life’s work by folk who are looking at it only from a user’s perspective and telling them they don’t know what they’re doing. This is the most I’ve seen a dev defending the game in a long long time.

SDS has a proud history of working on sports games for nearly 20 years.
Here’s the thing Colin, most of us like the franchise. That’s why we return year after year. Most of us want the game to be as good as it possibly can be, just as I’m sure you guys do as well. When you see people venting about the state of the game, sometimes going beyond what’s really appropriate for the situation and making insulting insinuations about the development team and their lack of ability and/or desire to improve the state of the game, it’s because you’ve made a product that people feel passionate about.
I don’t send multiple emails a week, pleading for improvement, to the developers of GTA or Need For Speed. Why? Because I really don’t care about the product that much. It doesn’t bother me if the game lags or the latest DLC isn’t really that great. On the other hand, SDS are frequently the recipients of my rambling, frustrated emails about the state of the game. That’s because I actually give a [censored]. I want to play the game and I want it to play well when I do play it. If you weren’t doing something right in the first place, I’d simply turn it off and not care, just like the other titles I referenced. So, in summary, yes, we give you a hard time. Yes, we complain about various issues within the game. But that’s a good thing, because it’s a sign you’ve got us invested in your product emotionally. It’s a sign people want to play, want to see improvement and aren’t just shrugging and switching off the game and console to play something else instead. With that in perspective, hopefully you can see why there is so much vitriol at times.

@Boudrow96 the games in a bad state right now, but I understand why there may be a delay in correct patches. Previous patches feel rushed. Everyone quarantined inside the house demanding this game gets better tomorrow just bc they have nothing else to do should check themselves.
I will not write SDS off bc of 1 or 2 months this yr of bad gameplay vs the yeeeears of quality gameplay & enjoyment.

I had MLB the show 06 on PS2 and various the show games since. Since 2017 I have been practically addicted to DD. I thinks SDS does a great job, and EA or 2k games do not even compare to the “trading card” team modes. Please never sell to EA, madden is a heap of garbage compared to this. People always need something to complain about.

@pbake12 i think the title of this post was a cry for attention. Hey look at me!!!
@Boudrow96 got Collin’s attention and then he flagrant fouled. Your one comment was so unnecessary. No wonder we don’t hear anything about productivity if you just throw insults

I’m not crying for attention. I am a bit upset as someone who spends tons of actual dollars in support of SDS, like many others. I knew about this forum last season and never complained. I’m just trying to get an answer as to why a company who’s made baseball games perfectly for years can’t get the basic fundamentals right. To me it’s unacceptable.
I’m by no means insulting Collin directly. I know very little is in his control, but they can’t keep sweeping these issues under the rug. They have plenty of new components of the game that are spotty and need work and I never bring those up. That’s cool, I know new parts take time to iron out. Fielding is just too pivotal in the games outcome to be something that’s not working at this juncture. It’s unfair to paying customers.

You spent over $1.8 million on the game?

Nope, lol. You guys win. I’m clearly failing to get my point across. Just want a game that works.
Good luck all!

Thanks for having some common sense dude, so rare in this forum with all the cry babies and casual noobs.

I’m just throwing this out there guys so don’t hit me too bad. With seemingly more emphasis on defense recently, maybe guys that had 70 fielding (in the past) and made every play (which was a complaint in the past) are now actually playing like their rating (making 7 out of 10 plays)? Just a thought.

Careful with the common sense around these online people, doesn't go over well

I'm still reading everything. Just had other things that needed attention.

They really got off on the wrong foot with the communitiy with that day 6 hitting patch that basically rendered what everyone was saying about the game in lead up to launch as one big lie and they rightfully so deserve a lot of flack for that. I'm sure the decision for that patch was made before the release and the first week was just verification that it wasnt how they wanted the game to play. But as far as content goes they are still the gold standard for a F2P game.
Also a side note but they knew about the fielding issues in during the BETA is January so they is obivously something that runs deep into whatever it is that they changed when they did the fielding overhaul.
