I often wondered if cover athletes translated into sales anymore?
Does the words New Cover Athlete have some meaning? Seems like some are already reading hidden meanings into that. Will it be a repeat? Judge? Ohtani? The two biggest players on teams with the biggest fan bases.

It's either Ohtani or Judge (could be a legend like Pedroia or Donaldson but I doubt it).
Edit: wait, if they're talking about all MLB games they made (including the ones they made under 989 Sports before they rebranded to SDS), then that means Barry Bonds was on the cover of MLB 2003. Don't get excited, but it's possible...

Yeah but they would've said it outright and wouldn't have used the word "new." Also, they're most likely expanding to PC this year, so they'll want to draw a whole new community with a bang. I think they may have gotten Bonds. -

I dont care if they just had a bat and ball on the cover, im still buying like i do every year. I never understood the people who get so hyped over a cover athlete and feel slighted when the multi millionaire they picked doesnt get it.

I'm emphasizing the word "new". So, I think you're right in that it would be a repeat.
Could they go as far back as the "989" days? Andruw Jones was the 2001 cover. Vlad Sr. was on 2006. Vlad Sr. and Jr. on the cover? Interesting.
Or... this is a complete misdirection, kind of like what they did with the 3 players in 2025.
I hate this time in the cycle when this is all we have to talk about.

I'm thinking the new version for Mobile Phones are as close to PC as the Show is getting. Which is to say not very close. I'd love a PC version but I just don't see it happening.

SDS wanted a senior graphics designer for PC for an AAA game back in I think that was October or November. Either way, the only AAA title they produce is MLBTS. Maybe not this year but probably by 27 or 28 max. -
