What are we expecting to be the subjects of the last two feature premieres?
-
We have the ratings reveal on the 7th. I am not overly invested in that. As a Cardinals fan I am kind of expecting all their players to go down. At first I thought that Sonny Gray might be the highest rated on the team but see that he did not even get much love last year, reaching his highest rating of 82 in the final update.
As for the future premieres I am not sure what to expect after the first two we got. The negro league one was fine but thought the Jeter Storyline one was overly long without many useful details. Is this the first year they have not let us know in advance what topics the feature premieres will cover?
Will this weeks expand on the last weeks blog post regarding Diamond Dynasty?
Will it cover potential gameplay updates?
Franchise?
RTTS?
March To October?
Something else?I would hope one would be on DD. The blog post was nice but a lot of people still have concerns on how it will work.

They said that the one on the 14th was the DD one,so the one on the 7th is probably everything else that hasn't been covered yet.

This. As a franchise lover, I am not optimistic.

@YOSHI24
Yep.. love the midnight releases. I took off on Friday just to put in a 24-hour session.

I must have missed that piece of info.

Said it somewhere else. For me it is a 6 am release … only time ever I can play when most of you have to stop to get a nap

@SaveFarris awesome post - thanks for the details. Why was the '18 stream so great?
-
@PAinPA
I'm hoping the Stadium Creator finally got its much needed "more than jewel box design" update where you can move the [censored] bullpens and foul ground This matters to me because I like my DD team to have a nice custom stadium to play in, even though I know it's just a niche thing

Based on info this morning I think we can assume what the Feature will be this week.
I won't spoil it except to say it will be RTTS focused. I would not expect any DD or Gameplay info again.

You can relive the magic here:

(fast-forward to 1:37:35)
There was also a stream somewhere in this part of history where they talked about one of the developers being out because he was taking his gerbil to the hospital(!), but I don't remember exactly which.
I realize they had to go with Feature Premieres in 2021 because of [virus redacted] and just kept doing it that way after, but taping them instead of doing it live took away little moments like this.

This is the 2nd year we didn't release the episode focus. Last year we released it after a couple weeks mostly because there were features that were unannounced and similar to this year.

We will likely for pre-release content to continue for them to be pre-recorded. While it does remove some of the fun chaos of those early streams, it also allows us to at least attempt to stay focus. Are there improvements? Absolutely and happy to listen to feedback.
As I mentioned in another post, the bigger question is what medium and series fits best as some fans may enjoy hearing more about the development process and decisions of the team, while others just want to know what Legends are coming. Bite size, short form, long form, streams, pre-recorded, or audio podcast. Some of these we do now, some we don't, but all of these are options for us to explore.
The Live Content Feature Premiere is 100% live as we countdown to early access as well and when the game is released every Live Content Show is live as well.

@collin_sds Are there even any actual improvements to RTTS, or is this years version solely focused on being the wokest game on the market?

The pre recorded stuff is fine,maybe next year add in an area where ppl can post questions( like a week or so before) and then have one where the stream is about that( even if the answers are - we can't talk about that now...)

We have ideas and we have talked about ideas that are similar. It can get tough to ask for open questions on a feature that isn't announced yet
There are a lot of options for us to explore moving forward. Perhaps we will even experiment with them during the season ahead.

I don't believe "woke" has anything to do with their decision making. I'm far from woke and I believe the addition of female characters is a positive move. As long as the chosen players are real ballplayers, CAPs, or computer generated draft picks in Franchise/MTO/RTTS it's done with integrity. I doubt that Betty White will be included, and I love Betty White. Rachel Balcovic has been involved with MLB/MiLB teams for over a decade. Toni Stone, Kelsi Whitmore, and Lizzie Arlington are just a few examples of women in professional baseball. That's not even including the All Women's league during WW2. I actually prefer to use female characters in all my gaming. Heck, I'd rather spend 8 hours looking at a female character than a man's [censored] any day, even if it's not real. I also used Lovely Ladies when I played All Star Baseball on the original NES.
If your problem is the Negro League, I've been asking for those players to be represented for years. I heard a story about a groundskeeper from Kansas City. After a career of over 50 years, he said he heard a particular sound when only 3 players hit home runs: Babe Ruth, Bo Jackson, and Josh Gibson. That says something about the strength of play. Those players, like Josh Gibson, deserve their recognition every bit as much as Babe Ruth or Mike Trout.

@collin_sds_MLBTS any news about the stadium creator set to come out at all? Upgrades to that feature?
-
@broken_toy1 I didn’t have a problem with the negro league stuff. I finished the storylines and will again in the new game. Do I think there are more pressing issues with the game? Yes. Adding women isn’t a deal breaker for me either. I just don’t understand why they continue to ignore more important issues for stuff most players probably don’t care about. I don’t see a reason other than pushing the woke agenda.
