How can you not be sentimental about baseball?

Yesterday was the most exciting day in baseball I have ever witnessed in my life. Forget calling them games. They were five possible movie scripts made out of four games. It was a beautiful thing to watch. From "Field of Dreams" to "The Natural," I always get emotional when I see a good baseball story. I wrote some treatments for fun. They're a little melodramatic, but it was fun to write. But really, how can you not be sentimental about baseball? I hope you enjoy.

A scrappy team comes out of nowhere in a "rebuilding year" to just miss the playoffs. The next year on the back of a rookie, that shouldn't be ready yet, they make the playoffs for the first time in twenty years. Then they come from a seven run deficit to clinch a spot in the second round. Surprising the team that was predicted to win it all at the beginning of the season.

One of the greatest pitchers of the age falls from their former glory, horribly falling from the heights of his earlier talent. Under the leadership of an injured hero, a team comes back from a disastrous first game to tie up the series.

Two future hall of famers play their last game after a season of success no one thought they would be able to achieve. Just short of their quest for one last championship, they take in their former glory and thank the people that supported them though the years.

This was supposed to be his year. The reigning MVP was ready to lead his team to the promised land. Struggling to win games the manager was fired, then a bad swing at a bad pitch puts his season in jeopardy. Behind their pitchers, the team comes back to secure the last spot in the playoffs. Our MVP, maybe too soon, comes back in time to defeat a seasoned contending team in the first round.

One game to win. The opponent is a team known to be able to face adversity and win. For the fourth year in a row they weren't supposed to make the playoffs. For the fourth year in a row, they came out of nowhere to play where they never should have been. The home team was up one game to none, but this opponent hasn't missed the second round in the last three seasons. Made from the pitchers duel of legend, fifteen innings of a scoreless game finally broken up by a young rookie from a small town in the Dominican Republic. One swing changes fate.

I’m currently flipping vida blue — he’s going for 21k and selling for 31k.

That’s a great flip if he’s moving. Sometimes the quicker flips are where it’s at. I’ve bought cards to flip and they end up dipping and price and I barely break even. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

I was flipping yankee golds the other day and made 100k in no time. finished my rollins collection finally.

Did you take a look at that program.
It is gonna take you a month to unlock that card.

And have to play with players/cards I have zero interest in.

So i now move on to J Rollins.

I'm already almost done. It's only 150 pxp per and mostly pitchers and 500 pxp per team. Did a lot while doing the conquest and I'm finishing my June monthly awards at the same time.

I am thrown out 90% of the time against the CPU, using guys with 90+ speed and steal against pitchers with slow windups and catchers with 60 arms. Surely I'm not doing this right....

You need to have 6 fingers on your right hand.

My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father, prepare to die.

In RTTS in 21, if you made a pitcher and fielder player, you could not DH in the same game you were pitching. Did they change that in 22?

No. The Ohtani rule didn't get passed until too late.

@Ericulous1_PSN said in Top 5 cards in the game today.:

We just got a boat load of new cards and some of them are insanely good. So who are your top 3, 5, 10 or however many cards you feel like listing.

    In no order-

    1. Mookie Betts- Lightning POTM 99- Wow, I really wanted an Arenado but this turned out pretty great too.

    2. Randy Johnson- Still the ultimate starter

    3. Billy Wagner Takashi 99/Aroldis Chapman Retro Finest 99- this is cheating but these two are destroyers of batting averages.

    4. Jimmy Rollins- Retro Finest 99- switch hitter, amazing speed, amazing defense, hits everything.

    5. George Brett retro Finest 99- Still my favorite 3B.
      😶

I haven't tried any of the new Legends of the franchise so this list could totally change. Curious who you all think.

I am at a loss for words with how much I like the new Ozzie Smith. Since they gave him power, he hits it all over the park. Nice easy swing. I have never liked any of his cards before this one. I'm looking forward to spending more time with my Joe Morgan card, but so far he seems great.

I have to agree with Wagner/Chapman, but I always do well with them.

POTM Nootbar is surprising too. I only played him to get Mookie, but I like him more than Mookie.

DD noobs always get a chubby for Trout.

You did see that I started that whole thing with "Angels fan," right? I know you're the community troll, but please tell us why you insist on belittling anyone that's not you. I might disagree with someone but any time it sounds like I'm talking down to someone it's unintentional. I don't consider four years a noob, or did you miss that too.

At this point in the game cycle, will they still change the DD rosters? I am wondering because I have a bunch of duplicate free agents. Should I just quick sell all of them?
    Thanks.

Another potential use: if the next program has an exchange that allows FA.

Have they had those before? I don't remember any for programs.

They said the greatest card ever in MLB the show history. It’s Mantle

I would love it if they made Shohei a 2 card final. RF Takashi and SP MVP for overall collection. Greatest card ever, to me, means card that can do the most. 125s across the board for pitching and hitting stats sounds like the best card ever.

The problem with that is he is not the best hitter, nor is he the best pitcher ever. He has talent, but he isn’t great. He still has years left to see what his career becomes.

I agree about him not being the best pitcher or hitter ever. But, he's a top 10 hitter and top 10 pitcher right now. We're also talking about best card ever, not best player ever. A hundred years later and it would still be considered Babe Ruth. Maybe a two way Babe Ruth card?

Mantle is a generational talent that only comes by every twenty years or so. That puts him up there with Honus, Babe, Griffey, Mays, Aaron, and most likely Trout. I agree it could be Mantle, but his face isn't on the cover. I'd even like a Mantle. His 98 is awful. It would be nice to get a decent RF Ohtani. I think we all know a Takashi Ohtani is coming, it's probably going to be a pitcher though.

The Ohtani card is the Takashi collection. I would rather have a RF than a pitcher card of him. I don’t like pitching with his cards. Do you have enough cards to get him tomorrow?

No, I'm only at 20. I was thinking of getting some this past weekend, but thought better of it. I'll wait until some others come out. I've been saving up my cards so when the collection drops I should have enough cards to make a nice profit on. Then I should be able to afford him. I'm still upset I'll never get Trout. I think I won 2 BR games once.

    Can we get this addressed?

The arrow stays lit up. I used to hate hitting the heart, although I did. Sports is a a bit macho, but to like something you press a heart? Not a big deal, but I get it.

    RE: New QS values

I like it. Last year when I kept getting the 95ovr HRD card, they were only worth 5K. At least these high diamonds are worth more. The negative aspect was memorization and the bi-weekly attribute changes.

Madden had the different QS value and it didn't take too long to get used to. It's easy once you do. It also makes flipping golds easier. Too many people only flip the higher value cards. The lower gold can make double or triple their QS value where 84s might only net a couple hundred and the turn over rate is usually faster.

Last year I'd check to see who went diamond. I'd quick sell those because their value rarely went over 5K and would sometimes drop back down below 85ovr. Now 84 to 85 isn't that much of a jump and I'll wait to see what the market does. I wish I held on to all those Haders I got at the beginning at 85 that went to 90 and quadrupled in value and sold it then.

BIGPAPIx34x I have pulled more LS Freemans than any other diamond this year. I thought it was just my luck. Right now I can't stop pulling Carlos Corea. At least I respect Freeman.

    PA: 3
    IP: 9
    W: 1
    SO: 17
    QS: 1
    CG: 1

For a grand total of a whopping 1000 in PXP and a bump up to a new parallel level.
