Is there a way to slide and take out the 2nd baseman?

I notice when the cpu slides for me it will do it at times but I never can when I control slide. Is there a way?

no takeout slides anymore, since the Chase Utley slide.

I could be wrong, but I believe that pushing and holding the right thumb stick down during the play, it will make the lead runner try to break up a double play. When using that, both players will slide and the middle infielder trying to make the double play usually makes more errors when throwing to first.

I’m not sure if you were still needing info on the takeout sliding but I found the game manual which it does say that holding down the right stick when sliding into 2nd breaks up double plays

Still pisses me off to this day.
unfortunately, players have always complained about nasty hits. MLB doesn't change it until one of the top players get taken out...like Buster Posey for one. If Pete Rose was the one who got destroyed in the all-star game, rules probably would have changed within a week.
