50 packs and not a single diamond

Call me just a little disappointed. I was given a PlayStation gift card for Father’s Day and I decided to buy 50 packs and hopefully come up with a diamond. Not one. Not even the chase pack. I’ve run into that before with the chase pack. But 50 packs and no diamonds? Thanks for a great Father’s Day SDS. I’m not one to usually complain a lot but I am very very bummed. I know there’s a risk in buying a few packs. And I know there’s a risk with the chase packs. But the odds say if you buy 50 packs you should at least come up with one. But I didn’t come up with one. Not a single one. I know I won’t get a lot of sympathy in the forum but I really don’t care.

Sorry it did not work out but essentially you gambled with your fathers day money and lost.
You could have spent those stubs on the market and netted several good diamonds.

Yeah I know I gambled. I don’t think I’ve ever bought that many packs and not come up with something. I mean for that amount of money you should at least get one. Remember several years ago that that was the case. You always got a high card if you bought a lot of packs. I guess that doesn’t happen anymore.
Oh, and did I mention I’m recovering from COVID? Yeah it’s been a lousy week.

Personally I have never spend stubs on packs so I have no comparison to prior years outside of free packs earned through play.

This is a key reason to NEVER buy packs from the shop, just go with the free ones SDS hands out, soon enough they will start handing them out like candy not that they aren't already.

Yeah, such a gamble. I've pulled 3 diamonds in 15 packs and 0 in 61.
Each pack has same odds every time, so when you get shut out, it's just bad luck.

Hey thanks for the tip on the Train Sim. I checked it out and I like stuff like this so I'm going to pick it up.

Sorry about the bad luck. That's not how the math works, though. You have a 2% chance to pull a diamond every single pack, and the odds aren't compound. So it wouldn't be unusual to go hundreds of packs without pulling one. It's never smart to buy them.

Earlier in the cycle after I had locked in the LS, I bought a bunch of 50 packs when opening stuff was still fun and prices were better. I had a string of ridiculous luck, all NMS. Now, though, it's early prep for the next big collection.
