Does anyone actually enjoy Ranked?

If it wasn’t for wanting to use all those cards I worked hard to get, I wouldn’t touch ranked as well. Glad to see I’m not the only one who is having a love/hate relationship with the online portion of the game this year.

I tell myself I do but then I'll play a few games of it and then want to slap someones grandma that's how frustrating it is. But then I don't play for a few hours and I get the itch again. Rinse and repeat.
What makes it lame is every game is the same. Who can keep their opponent from hitting the fewest homeruns. Because there is no other way people score besides HRs. LITERALLY. No other way. 90% of the games I play are like 1-0, 2-1, 2-0... The default sliders for the game are bad so you see a lot of things like outfielders being able to run from a mile away to get under a ball and catch it. Line drives off the bat arent realistic at all. It looks like when you hit a golf ball with a 9 iron.
But yeah my biggest gripe is the lack of diversity when it comes to plays on offense. All you see is. Strikeout. HR. Slowest hit ball ever for infield single. Pop-out to catcher that only went 7 feet in the air. Or line drive directly at an OF.
All ive seen is my opponent attempting to bunt or successfully bunting for the last three games. This is why i have reduced my RS play drastically over the years
Facts. That’s all I’m getting especially on HOF. I don’t know if it’s the fact it’s hard to hit on HOF or it’s they just want to be toxic. Either way it’s annoying
Ranked Seasons new name is bunt dance revolution

In 19 I probably played over 500 ranked games and would always make ws quickly and keep playing. Hit top 50 once and played at least through Christmas. Last year still played a lot and always pushed to ws. This year I may have 100 games and just don’t enjoy playing ranked at all any more. This season I think I’m 9-1 so I still win a decent amount but just have no desire to play or push to ws. Like everyone said it seems like every game is double digit strikeouts and a few homeruns.

It’s unplayable over 800 this year, I can’t believe it. Every pitcher has outlier…not even remotely fun to play ranked anymore. Kind of destroys the whole point of DD for me.
I actually skipped playing for a season this year. It took me back down to 400. Since then. Hadn't had more fun playing! Once I got back up to around 700 or so, hated it again

As I said previous yes I do. Love the 9 inning games.
For example just played this guy 1-0 down who had 99 JDG. A 4 run 6th got him out the game and I won 5-1.
No better feeling tbh.
3 inning games are just too arcade for me
I am right there with you. I much prefer the 9 inning games and therefore RS is pretty much all I play. I will play some event games if the rewards are good but I dont like the 3 inning, 6 inning, quick count, etc, games either. I enjoy the realistic 9 inning baseball games much more. I am also not turned off by low scoring games. I would much prefer a tight pitchers duel than a 13-10 slugfest. That being said, a lot of RS games are HR or strikeout type games and I do wish there were more balls put into play and more runs scored in other ways than the HR ball. Although, if we are talking realism that is pretty much what major league baseball has become nowadays as well. HR or strikeout.

I can't help but notice that the majority of the criticism in this post is directed specifically at the higher levels of ranked, which 80 to 90% of the player base will never reach. "Does Anyone Actually Enjoy Ranked?" is an interesting title choice for a post that's completely irrelevant to most of the people who play the game.

I would just like to be abke to play 9 innings, with my squad at the level I want. Heck, I would love a 9 inning mode with a cap on the overalls. And yeah, 40 wins is a lot. I've flirted with ws but it's a sweatfest... Not fun.

80 to 90% of players can’t reach 800? Idk about that lol, seems a bit high of a percentage to me.

I enjoy ranked seasons, but the fluctuating connection makes it frustrating with the pitch speeds high and timing windows small.
You can be on everything against DeGrom for instance thinking you are getting things figured out and next game you face DeGrom again and get blown away. I really don’t enjoy that aspect at all.
On the flip side you got guys batting .400….

I’m just tired of out-of-pci early timing homers on low curveballs

I just lost a game against a guy that was flailing all game and had four home runs with single digit pci ratings. At this point I am chalking it up to the feedback being wrong.

I guess it’s the same in World Series than it is in pennant race, where I am, (sheesh)

I’m guessing it’s even worse in WS with the small pci…most of the bombs I give up don’t make sense and the ball is outside of the pci.
-
Fuzzy had one that he gave up recently that wasn’t within a country mil of being in the pci with decent timing and it went out
-
Enjoyed rs yesterday as the game was playing good. 80% of the time it is trash including today.
-
I just played a game after maybe 1.5 - 2 months away from RS, I’m on all star and still timing windows changing pitch to pitch, very late jammed bloops against me obviously and two early pulled sliders for homeruns for my opponent (both were placed a low and away) didn’t hang any…

I have wired fiber internet. It works great for other games, streaming and web surfing. This is an MLB The Show issue which won't get resolved until they get a competent competitor. Not sure who in that company figures a 1 v 1 connection with someone over 1000 miles away is a good idea.
Not even 99 George Brett will save me from punting this game when Battlefield comes out.

Don’t throw curveballs low it’s probably top two worst pitches/locations to throw in the game
-
Yeah, I guess I just suck

Not saying that, but curveballs and changeups low are very easy for PCI jammers to just flick it down there and get early tanks.
