When a rs game is loading they show both teams records. They show where the game is being played. They show the lineups and starting pitchers. Why not show each teams ratings or show what level the game is played on? Why does this need to be a secret until the end of the game? I know you can sometimes tell by pci size but depending on pitchers batters etc it’s not always obvious. Why not either show each teams ratings or below the stadium name just put hall of fame or legend or all star?
Best one I saw was earlier in the year when there was mission for getting saves with Treinen. Let me get a save with treinen and I’ll quit.
Billy Williams program coming tomorrow. Always liked his swing. Could be a great bench bat at least.
If you hear the horn you know you are playing a complete d bag.
I know many will be disappointed with kemp and Brett but I like these choices. I love kemp’s swing but usually by the time he comes out there are just too many choices in the outfield. I’m assuming this will be the best version of a Kemp card the game has had. Same with Brett. I love his swing and again assume this will be the best we have seen since his monster card in 17. I’ll give Kemp a shot and Brett will definitely play first and third in some rotation with chipper and Ortiz.
A lot of people would have probably been more excited to see Griffey Ruth trout or any of the other monster cards but if you have played the game for a few years you have probably already had hundreds of at bats with these cards. I’m excited to get more usable versions of different cards that normally might get ignored. The only cards that I would prefer more would be the new cards like Aaron or Puckett.
Wow there was somebody who whined all of last year because joe carter didn’t get a signature. Don’t remember whoever it was will be happy.
This could be one of the best TA cards of the bunch. His cards are usually really good and at 99 he should have it all. Will be an elite fielder with a cannon arm, near elite speed, great contact and more than enough power. He was arguably one of the best cards in 17 and to get him free now is pretty nice. If you like his swing he could legitimately be an end game outfielder for any team.
It actually makes sense from a realism standpoint. If a pitcher is set to throw tonight, he is on a schedule where he is throwing on certain days, doing bullpens etc. Plus he throws a good amount pregame tonight. If they get downpours in the second inning and the game is called he is still pretty taxed. Not as much as if he threw 100 pitches but there is almost no way a team is going to run him back out there before his next scheduled start unless it is a stretch run and they have a shot at postseason. That’s basically what is happening here now. We can set our rotation which is better than last years randomness but we can’t throw kluber for 2-3 innings every game now.
Can they give mookies coming ps card a special quirk so that no matter how well you hit a ball to right field it can’t leave the park? However well you hit it he will still find a way rob the homerun. They can just call it the mookie quirk.
This happens constantly to me but I have to wonder if it is just a lag issue. Like what I’m seeing on my screen is different than what is happening or what the other guy is seeing. I also get the animation where the bat barely leaves your shoulder and it’s called a swinging strike.
I love Mays going back to 19. His swing just works for me. I stunk with Aaron though but to be fair I didn't give him enough of a chance. What's weird is I did well with his 42 card.
I know some people believe the game is out to get them or that Ramone hates them so they lose, but it does seem like the type of game is somewhat predetermined. It seems like certain games the ball is going to fly all over the place and other games nothing. I just had a game against a really solid player and it seemed like he put his pci on everything and hit tons of missiles but right at everyone. Even against the shift he would always find the one guy on that side of the field. I was on everything as well and had tons of bad luck. At one point with bases loaded I got a high fastball with Trout and had 14 contact with just early timing and got a pop out to the catcher. Definitely not saying the game chooses sides and I did get the win but it definitely seems like no matter how it's played some games will end up being low scoring and others will be a shoot-out.
Was hoping for Renfroe. Nothing against JD but no chance his defense makes him even remotely playable. Based on the season Bogarts or Devers could have been the choice but Bogarts AS card is more than good enough and Devers has what seems like multiple endgame cards already. Renfroes defense would have been strong and being a Finest they would have juiced his stats. His swing normally makes him a great BR card so a juiced version would have been fun. Its weird that a team that was a few games from the World Series will have a Finest card that is almost unplayable.
I think its always tough on them trying to figure out when to get which cards out because you cant please everyone. I feel like they kind if blew it with puckett and even aaron. Aaron was the big name this year but came out relatively late. I feel like puckett was a good player for them to get but at this point no matter what they do to his attributes, he wont be able to compete with the options available. Seems like he could have come out around the same time as Sizemore or Justice. People would have used him for a while before the really big names came out. I know lots of people complain that Griffeys not out yet but for me I dont really care because Ive used him a ton since 18. Same with Ruth. I think puckett is probably the biggest loss though because I assume he cost them something to get the rights and at this point most people wont even know that he was in the game.
Over the past few years there have been possibly 100 posts complaining about non pci HRs and perfect perfect fly balls but havent seen anything about the effect of pitcher confidence on this. I saw a video where college lefty was showing screen shots of pci placement with slow motion contact etc and he mentioned pitcher confidence but didnt elaborate at all. He seems like a pretty normal guy and a solid player who doesnt generally complain. Im wondering if pitcher confidence is the reason why we see the non pci hr or the perfect perfect flyouts. Not saying this should be the case or was necessarily what SDS wanted but it could be screwing things up.
If pitcher confidence is high it could be causing something in the programming where those perfect perfects are toned down or if confidence is low that non pci hit or hr happens more often. A few years ago there was something going where pitchers who had a high HR/9 would just never give up HR. They turned that off completely and it fixed the problem.
I think with them trying to make confidence matter its possibly screwing up the hitting feedback. I know years ago in a stream they spoke about the effects that pitcher confidence has on hitting and I always though that was pretty dumb. I think pitcher confidence should just make it easier or hard to locate a pitch or give more break or velocity.
I tried the precision rings over the Summer and didnt like them because I felt like it restricted the pci and slowed things down. For some reason it just hit me today that after the patch the opposite is true so I tried them again and they seem to help a lot. Definitely seem to be controlling the zone more. Im sure others have thought of this but I hadnt seen anything so I figured Id throw it out there. I dont imagine they will have any more gameplay updates so this pci is here to stay. If you are having trouble this is worth a shot.
Another freeze off…
My opponent picked polo grounds. Time of day so the glare off the batters eye made pitches almost invisible and had an all speed team. He literally bunted every at bat at the first or second baseman. Bunt dancing and extra lead for good measure. He had about a 500 record too so Im assuming most people quit after a few innings with this clown. No way he is winning games legitimately like this.
I’ve seen some pretty silly things but don’t recall seeing a 4 homerun. That’s really bad.
If you are losing a game do your best to hit a routine ground ball to second base. There is a good chance this will cause a freezeoff. Then just wait it out. On the flip side if you are winning you really have to avoid giving up a grounder to second. Adds a new element to the game I guess…
