Would love to see him back. Had a great swing and always played above attributes.

I thought in previous years that Topps now was a weekly thing. Didnt see anything on the schedule for this week. Is it not weekly any more or am I just remembering previous years differently?
-
I think it's Chipper and he will probably be my wild card that I carry through the seasons. This seems like his best card ever and at p5 would be a solid shortstop.

Ive played on Xbox since last Summer and I can confirm the game is not playing on Rookie pitch speeds. My experience is the game definitely plays smoother than it did for me on ps5 so I am able to read pitches better etc but if Im playing on legend the pitch speeds are legend. Not sure if there is a way for me to hack something to make it happen but I can assure everyone the game is not defaulting to anything like this on Xbox.
You’re not understanding what is being said lol
The issue isn’t that regular Xbox users are playing on rookie while others play on legend
The streaming/content creators community found out that there are certain Xbox users(mainly on legend/World Series to layers)
That are cheating using somehack that allows them to experience rookie pitch speeds while playing a legend game and while their opponent is obviously playing on legend
If you read my post you would see that I said I don't know if there is a specific hack that would allow it but Xbox is not defaulting to it. To follow up though I'm pretty confident this is not happening because if it was it would already be out for everyone to see and do. It took about a day for the two way player RTTS glitch to get out all over youtube. Just because some streamers are whining because they are giving up more hits than usual doesnt mean xbox users have found a way to hack the game.

@rosborn27_PSN said in 25k xp spins predetermined?:
Same thing happened to me this morning. Didn’t get the wheel last night but saw an Around the World Pack appear. Then when I logged into today the wheel immediately came up. Spun it and got the same Around the World Pack I got yesterday. Except I didn’t since I had already opened the pack. Suspect.
I agree. Must have something to do with the programming where they cant get it to be random rewards based on when we press.
-
I got through one of the 25k xp runs and the option to spin didnt pop up. I had seen a few others comment on this so i figured it is just a bug and got unlucky. A few minutes later I was in my inventory and noticed a double duo pack. I didn't remember having it but just assumed I got it for something along the way and didnt notice. I shut down the game and came back a while later and when I jumped into DD the wheel popped up to spin. I pressed to start and then pressed to stop and landed on the silver and got double duo. Went to my inventory and no double duo. So to recap I got the double duo reward about an hour before I did the wheel. Seems like it wont matter when you press to start and stop you are going to land on whatever is predetermined for you on that spin. I dont really care either way but it just seems like more fun if you could try to time it and get the diamond.

I think this is the best version Ive played. Im actually surprised. I feel like each year has gotten worse since 17 so I wasnt expecting much. The game is really good right now.
-
@TEXAS10PT_PSN said in SDS please dont make too many changes:
This game is close to 16 & 17 but both of those games had a better hitting engine. 23 is not bad but they need to open up the timing windows some. That would be the "small" change I would ask for.
Seems like a reasonable request. Im not sure I fully agree. If I had any complaint it would be that hitting is a bit easy. I feel like right now if I match up with a good player there is nothing I can do to get them out. Its a slugfest and whoever bats last wins. It could also be that there arent a ton of really good pitchers out yet. What's good about this years slugfest though is its generally good swings. I m not sure if I have seen any off pci balls hit well. Last few years people could miss the ball and still hit rockets.
-
I've played online since 16 and always thought 16 and 17 were great and then everything went downhill. Right now, I think this is as close in quality to 16 as I've seen. Hitting feels so much better than the past few years and the defensive upgrades make that part of the game more fun. I know there are always people that will find things to complain about but SDS please if you make changes, don't go crazy with them. Right now the game is challenging and fun to play.

My guess is these are ranked or br awards, but my god that Roki is insane (and yes he will have outlier).
They are great, but Trea's 87 power isnt end game. Will be amazing early on though.
To be fair, 87 power on a Trea card plays like 100+ on most other cards.
His cards do seem to produce more pop than the attributes suggest. This card is similar to his mid season card in 21 just reversed on the splits and that card was a monster. Seemed like everyone used him for a while.
-
This card is nearly equal to finest trout. Could be one of the best right handed hitting outfielders the game has ever had. Maybe Mays a few years ago and most trout cards. Other than that I can’t think of any that would beat this.
-
It's too bad. His finest card in 19 had a great pitch mix with good control.

Can we get a Sabathia and Johan Santana?, Carlos Pena isn’t moving the needle for me, just another Left handed first baseman.
EDIT: Also Prime Zobrist
I don't know why Pena doesn't do it, he's probably gonna win rookie of the year you know, he's an all-star! He just makes the rest of the team look bad!
Shouldnt they release a Hatteberg card this week so we can play him over Pena.

That would not solve the problem @FRSTDWN_XBL has, because it implies that everybody picks the challenge he/she is most suited for.
In realitiy: Those goons could still pick lower difficulties … to have fun or simply because they want to have an easy time.Do not forget, that the BR-rank-search is based exactly on the thing you guys want and do not compare it to the situation, the mode is in now. At the beginning of a cycle, you get matches in the 1500-ranks … When you win, you will face „better“ (or luckier) opponents, up to 2000+. So: The challenge gets higher as you progress, only the game difficulty stays the same.
Nothing improves, if you are allowed to choose e.g. Veteran. Everybody can pick that… same for All-Star, HoF or Legend.
The „beauty“ in BR is, that it is loosely coupled to skill and you can challenge someone (perhaps better) in a 3-Inning-game … and be the better or luckier guy. The higher the game difficulty the more skill matters… the lower the difficulty, the more luck matters. I think, All-Star is the best of both worlds, because getting those big rewards should take some skill and not only luck (which would be the case if you could pick „Rookie“ e.g.)Based on that line of thinking they could put a floor on it and make all star the lowest level selectable. The idea that the best players would pick all star to beat up on weaker players isnt necessarily relevant because that is what is happening now. Also if that was the case more than a few would do it and they would eventually run into each other as the run progressed. Ultimately the better players tend to avoid all star if possible because it’s kind of a dumpster fire.
-
I’ve posted this before but it seems to fit here. They should let you choose your level at the start of a br run. If you choose all star you only match up with those who chose all star. If you choose a higher level you only match up with those who chose your level. You can’t change levels midrun and the reward path is the same regardless. This way everyone plays on the level they want instead of being forced into all star.

Would love to see them bring Rogers Hornsby and Ty Cobb. Both had great swings and Cobb did everything well.

@Ericulous1_PSN said in I think the new seasons concept could be great:
I am stoked about this year but admittedly, don’t understand the purpose of this. I don’t think it’s negative, but what exactly is it promoting. If set 1 is available for the first two seasons and Core is always available, nothing really Gomes into play until July. I think the mentioned Core would include the All Star cards and I’m sure set 3 will be better than set 1. So really all that happens is in season 3, replace 1 with 3. Like I said- I don’t understand the point or how this affects anything: I’m not upset in the slightest about it. I just don’t get what all the fuss is about.
Yea I think in practice, its not much of a change. There are very few people still using cards they got in April in July. I think when people first heard this, they assumed the end game Griffey or Mays would drop in the first season and then go away by season 3. They will probably drop a rookie Griffey in season 1 and then a milestone or retro finest Griffey in season 2 or 3. Nobody would care that the first one went away. Im sure by the end of the cycle all of the best cards will still be there.
-
Some people are freaking out thinking that certain players will disappear as a season ends. It’s cards that are restricted. All it means is that they will most likely release a better version of a player as the seasons progress. How many people used the crappy 99 Griffey after the good one was released? On the flip side how many people would have used the crappy one if it were released on day one when the cards all weren’t stacked. Just because they say 99 are out on day one doesn’t mean they are stacked 125 across the board 99s. It’s probably the crappy Griffey 99 which would stand up great against a lot of live series lineups. Then a better one is released in later seasons. Most people retire cards naturally on their ranked seasons teams as better cards come out. I honestly think this is just a way to get more cards out early in the game cycle.
-
Personally I think if you remove 18 altogether as that was a disaster, 20 is where things really went downhill. People talk about 16 and 17 and I agree they were great but 19 was still a solid game. Other than the line outs it played relatively well. I feel like in 19 user input still mattered enough to make the game competitive. Once 20 came things just got ridiculous with pci feedback, constant foul balls, check swings, etc.
