No way in hell should everyone start at spring training. That’s ridiculous the fact spring training is even on Veteran difficulty is ridiculous. The only change I would make to ranked seasons is that HOF difficulty should start at 600. Now that is a good idea.
So you don't want a fair game? New lineups and new players? Got season under belt used to game afraid somebody mightv'e learned how to play and prevent you from leveling up quicker? And your ok with skewed leaderboards because everyone didn't start same place?
No, higher skilled players have earned there way to start in a higher division. Trust me players that are in division series and above are just going to mollywhop everyone until they get back up to division series. You don’t want that. It’s not fun for us that are good at the game HOF is the best difficulty to play on and we’ve earned our way to play in the higher divisions. Once you get there you will understand that even starting a new season on all star difficulty is a drag.
Agree i am not a HOF player. 600 at best I hit CS in 2017 and I did not really play RS in 2018. Played some in 2019 and 2020. Played more event games. This year only needing the 40 wins to get one of the WS rewards is worth playing for. If I played a HOF CS or WS player most those games I would quit because there is no point to continue playing if someone is getting crushed. It is not fun. Let those DS,CS and WS players start at higher levels.
There is nothing saying your qualifiers could or couldn't be against people that finished same rank as you. They could make it to where AS vs AS or WSvsWS in qualifiers.
If you are going to play against the same rank then your suggestion is mute. It is the same as starting where they do now.

Then if thats how your going to do it, then really why do it at all.
Simple, to see if that person is truly a WS player, or did they slide in there because they played before anyone else got there team assembled, or did servers being down giving them undeserved wins. Alot of scenarios could warrant the qualifier.
If that person got in by aka luck, then they will not last as a WS, CS, or DS player so yeah your point in mute.

I am not trolling just responding and making suggestions is all. Look at your headline you must be trolling with that headline of 2022 Early development MUST HAVES. As if SDS must listen to you and change the game to fit your likes.
Suggestions? By saying point is mute? Btw nice editing to get rid of proof. I'm not an idiot i know a derailer when i see one.
But that's fine. I've read enough to know the direction RS will go if they allow people to advance closer to WS rewards in next season just based off how far they made it the previous season.
I get it now you folks don't really want the compitition just want the luxury boost to get closer to next seasons rewards got it! Real classy sportsmanship in this forum.

and its not competing when you're making the WS guys play causal Joe in spring training all year, the ranked format is the best thing for this game, otherwise it would make online unplayable for the causal player.

"Hey SDS you should cater to my wants and needs above the 50 thousand plus other users."
They can't ban people for 24 hours for quitting a video game. Who cares if they quit you won the game and saved yourself some time. Starting at 0 rating would ruin ranked seasons competitiveness. Newer players getting matched with good and elite players. They would lose a large player base. Plus nobody that plays on HOF and Legend wants to reset to veteran difficulty every month.
This; what if the job calls or something urgent comes up and I have to quit; now I’m banned for 24 hours? Nope. Also like this guy said, every new season the top players would just demolish/feed on the lower levels. Not fun for the masses; turn off for anyone wanting to dip his/her toes in RS for the first time or occasionally
Ban was a suggestion in regards to how other games deal with issue. I didn't say that was final and only solution just pointing out that something should be in place.
And not being a [censored] but am i to believe that when HR got hit and they quit it's due to b/c they got called into work? I realize real life situations happen but by you guys not acknowleging that this happens does not better the game.
They can only dashboard, not quit; yes dashboarding sucks but nothing can be done about it on SDS’ side for multiple reasons. It’s been answered multiple times throughout the years.

Ok i was reading where people would pause then send friendly quit and while people think they are acknowleging the disconnect they are actually accepting friendly quit. And i agree reading what prompt says does allevite that. But muscle memory is real also and someone shouldn't have to think twice about accepting was was an obvious prompt from a disconnect screen.
That is part of reason they need to make it where they can't pause til ball lands. These are the types of things i'm bringinging up so they don't coincide with each other to create said issue.
I'm not writing this for my personal benefit i'm literally discussing flaws i see and flaws others have posted that could make the game better in the end.

You would need a lot of things to happen. It takes a decent amount of games to go from 800-900. Even if ypu get to 800 you still have to string together a decent streak to make WS. Nobody is making it out of luck or disconnects

My suggestion in no way is suggesting for anything to change once you are at that level within the season that would be solely gameplay by player.
I am saying people should have to earn getting back to that level every season. With the various rewards that can be earned and choice packs and what have you. Lineups change for people and they gain experience through gameplay.
Having qualifiers like i'm referring to, will still allow you to start at same level as you do now "If" you do good in qualifiers. And some will be on edge of a Div. and depending on thier qualifiers they could start higher or lower based off of qualifiers.
I have an issue with everybody not starting at same level as everybody else each time yes. Sorry if that ticks people off. But i have hard time thinking if someone gets to a level where there is a reward that the next season that automatically qualifies them to start closer to the WS rewards based off how they did in the prior season?
This is competition and you should have to compete each time to get there. Peoples arguements are because they don't want to play an AS difficulty? If that was the case why are these same people not pushing for BR or Events to be on HOF or Legend? Like i said before it's not about competition it's about easy path to rewards. This does not effect good players as much as it does the people on the edge of a Div.

Then if thats how your going to do it, then really why do it at all.
Simple, to see if that person is truly a WS player, or did they slide in there because they played before anyone else got there team assembled, or did servers being down giving them undeserved wins. Alot of scenarios could warrant the qualifier.
Have you ever made it to WS? There really is no reason to start so far back if you put in the time and effort to make it. All it does is frustrates people in lower divisions when they're trying to tie some wins together. They're going to blow through the lower divisions anyways. Ranked Seasons is for 2 kinds of players.. 1- the casual or above average player who wants to see how well they can do and see if they can make it in DS or CS. 2- WS caliber players. There is nothing in between.

Dear San diego Studios,
I just wanted to list a few things that should be priority when playing in a competitive atmoshere. If you are focused on making user input and a fair and equal game mode, these things should really be considered in creating a better experience for user.
-
Start punishing people for quitting a ranked game! Some will say "how do you determine if its a quit or disconnect"? Put a rejoin timer in effect, if it's internet related then user has chance to rejoin and continue game. If they quit reduce them in division points or penalize them by not letting them play online for 24 hour period starting @ time of quit.
-
This also ties into quitting. There is an exploit where people have HR hit against them and they pause game and send friendly quit which looks like a prompt to "Accept User Disconnected." A simple solution would be adding an additional prompt of "Are you sure you want a friendly quit?" Or don't allow option to enter Menu until ball lands?
-
I know you are addressing the R2 spamming that was addressed in 2nd inning program video. But i would also like you to consider changing Quick pitch as well simply b/c the arguements are tied together. Implementing Balks? Or reducing amount of times these features can be used in an inning?
-
Please make user settings same across the board regarding Umpire accuracy, strike zone, and check swings, ejections so on so forth. I only mention this because last i heard it was based off of Home Teams settings i believe? That's fine if you want to leave it that way, but opponent should be prompted to see said settings if it remains.
-
Last but not Least Please reevaluate where players start at beginnning of each season. I feel everyone should start at square one every season. There is no reason people should be starting any place higher than Spring Training. It's where everybody starts when game launches why should it be any different each season?
I have other reasons for not playing ranked seasons or any other competitive modes for that matter, but for me these are the most glaring and I would really appreciate it if this conversations decisions be made by Company Employees and not the fan base. I welcome input from fanbase, but i really would like Top Executives to really give these issues some considerations.
Ty for your time in these matters. Any further question or clarification feel free to contact me. Via msg on here and/or Email.
I hate all of these ideas except the friendly quit confirmation one. That isn't that bad. The first one is a horrible idea. Implementing Balks is the worst thing you can do when this game already takes 45 minutes to play. I'm pretty sure all user settings are the same, you can't just turn check swings and ejections off. Starting at Spring Training is dumb. Then I have to play 5 year olds all over again. You said that you don't even play ranked so why are you trying to change it? No thanks.

Actually yes they can refer to rocket league! This thread isn't about catering to my needs it is how alot of people feel and these are simply suggestion that were well thought out and presented in a manner to make game as a whole better. But ty for your input.
That's why nobody liked your post and 11 people liked his...... And rocket league you screw over your teammates when you quit, and that's why there is a ban. You can only screw over yourself for quitting in this game, so there should be a penalty.

8 heated responses within 35 mins and you don't believe these are issues?
Every one of the responses are against your ideas LMAO
And? Does that make up majority of fan base? Some places it's only 7 am what is your point aside from attempting to troll?
Do you make up the majority? Everybody is disagreeing because you complained about your personal pet peeves of why you don't play ranked seasons. The structure is fine how it is.
If you want to discuss fine, but don't assume as to what my intentions are with this thread for a poor attempt to getting upvotes on your post it's rather pathetic.
Your opinion is wildly unpopular and your argument against the opposition was flawed. I have nothing to discuss. Your ideas would ruin ranked seasons for well over half of the player base. Higher level guys do not want to play on veteran and all star and low level guys do not want to lose 15-0 in 3 innings
Mercy rule is at 10 runs. The fact you didn't know that tells me you aint as good as you think you are. And this idea does in fact jeopardize you flaunting the CS Icon.
You can also mercy someone at 15-0. The mercy won't go into effect until both halves of the inning are complete. The fact that you didn't know that tells me you have no idea what you're talking about. (and also just your previous posts too)

I'm against quit punishments. It saves time for both players and if I meet someone, who is hitting everything and completly destroys me, I just move on, it happpens.
Also I'm against qualification or placement games, I started 5:1 in my first RS games and where I would be placed? To 500 or 700? I would lose next 5 and that would not be fun.
Next thing is to start season from 0 points for everyone, this one is also bad. Many players would have just wait until all good players will be high enough again. I'm glad they have their own league. These are just some opinions from below average player

@GrizzBear55_PSN and some others here, cheers for the suggestions, whether I agree or not isn’t why I posted but I gotta say I respect the way you right from the start handled some really disrespectful responses here. It’s kept the thread as an open discussion instead of snowballing into an ‘everyone bash the OP’ which it started off as.

I agree with the 2nd friendly quit prompt, Good suggestion.
I would offer a tweak to punishing people for quitting...These games are an hour long sometimes & people who have kids sometimes just have to go when kids do kids stuff lol. You could also get a important phone call, ect...My point is there are many reasons people quit besides rage quitting. That being said, I agree that the other person shouldn’t miss out on stats so I suggest this compromise...Years ago on Xbox I played MLB2K & in that series if your opponent quit then the cpu would take over & finish the game against you. Why not use this technology here? Your opponent quits for whatever reason, It’s fine because you get to finish the game against the cpu & get all your stats - Everyone wins.

Every single one of these "suggestions" are horrible ideas.
Chill.
This wasn't even meant to be rude or snarky... I'm voicing my opinion that if these suggestions were to be implemented they would impact the game in a negative way. Gameplay is in the best state it's been in years, just trying making sure you and the rest of the dev team know we don't all want those changes.
