Am I the only one that has not pre-ordered?

My guess is that I will get the game, and probably the Digital Deluxe version of the game as usual but I have not pre-ordered yet. Why? I am waiting to see the DD Stream. As a offline DD guy I need to know that no major changes were made to that experience that hinders my enjoyment.
It seems like they have handcuffed the progression of the RTTS Ballplayer by allowing it to be tied in with DD. I also believe RTTS will be more monetized this year with new packs randomizing the perks you receive. Will Perks be the new franchise sponsorships, hiding in packs, tiered for rarity, to drive RTTS players to the marketplace. Also the lack of information about carry over saves moving forward. I don't want to play the same first 2 to 3 years of RTTS year after year and I am not willing to invest time in the mode until I know the answer.
Also, the fact that Create a Stadium is pretty much not allowed in most of the modes that offline DD players use (conquest, moments, showdown, even March to October) means that feature is not a selling point for me.

Didn't put my order in until last night. Honestly, there wasn't much reason to this year.
In years past, they incentivized pre-ordering early by giving you a card to use in the existing game (Baez in 99, Harper in 98, etc). I get why they didn't do that this year (We already have a 99 Tatis and the card would be of no use to xboxers anyway), but it still served as another reason to hold off purchase.

I understand your concerns and I ordered for opposite reasons. I did like the changes to RTTS and Franchise. I don't think ballplayer feature is gonna hinder the RTTS experience. I think it's just a new streamlined way to create a player. Still questions regarding it that match some of your concerns.
I don't have a ps5 yet and probabally won't until end of year which was a reason for me to go ahead and order it. Because when i do get ps5 it will increase the replayability. Stadium Creator is availble vs CPU 9 inning game which is what i prefer when playing against CPU in DD. And having a backstory for Franchise relocation and 3 new stadiums brings a level of excitement for me.
I didn't see the progression handcuff your refferring to personally, if anything it looked easier. Yes i have concerns about the perks and architype packs but at the same time it doesn't bother me as much when i play RTTS b/c i like the struggle of working my way up. The year 2 year saves i get it, but i personally start over every year for the experience. And the videos in RTTS available for next gen is another replayable factor so that is why i pre ordered but i understand the holding off.

I preordered the minute it was announced on Twitter. I have been a baseball fan for years, but not long enough to enjoy a good baseball game on either PC or Xbox. When I heard The Show was coming for Xbox I was like take my money.
I have played the NHL series for years and their Hockey Ultimate Team and what I loved about HUT was that you could earn stuff (packs, currency) offline in tournaments and VS CPU too. I, personally, will not spend so much time in DD that I even get on a top 50 stats list. I was under the impression that in DD your awards would mostly come from online play VS others, but I know we will get rewards and packs in offline tournaments too. I don’t recall where I saw it, but from my understanding you can get good rewards and Stubs in offline mode and tournaments too.
In my opinion you get really good preorder bonuses so I say if you can shell out the $ go for it, if you don’t like their DD or the game in general I think you can get a full refund.
Either way, hope to see you enjoy the game.

Yeah you get loads of players and packs juat from playing whatever part of the game you choose. Conquest and moments gets you a little bit of everything and after every completed game gets you a card.
I pre-ordered the other day, I always do. I get my money's worth of mlb the show every year so I always do. Even with little or no real upgrades, I still buy it.

I am not going to waste my money buying ps4 version, and can't track down a ps5. So no I have not pre-ordered. It really appears I will not have it by this weekend.

Haven't preordered for the first time since 18. Won't be a purchase for the first time since 14. unless I get it used down the road. Just time to move on from the game and the sport. Did shoot 74 Saturday, finally made some putts

Nope. I never preorder sports games, I just wait till it gets cheap. Unless you play online a lot, it just almost the same.

Not buying the game until I have a next gen console. I can wait, I haven't played the show in close to three months and haven't missed it.

To the two that started they won't buy until they get a PS5: Can I ask why? Unless you're going with the Standard Edition; you get both versions (PS4 and PS5) and you can start playing on the PS4 and transfer your progress when you get a PS5.

I needed my ducks to fall into line and they just did. I now have a xbox 1 which I will purchase the digital deluxe edition and upgrade when my new series x arrives. I'm not getting a ps5 for the foreseeable future here in Australia.

There is no way they put perks for RTTS in packs. I’d be pissee bc it took a slot for something I actually use in DD. I don’t play RTTS and would be just as pissed as you lol

I am waiting to see if I can even play the game being an offline DD player who likes stat grinds. Making the Prestige online only was very frustrating and gave little purpose to playing the game. Oh, and then when I was angry at DD I would switch to RTTS and that is gone now too.

Not buying this year, ‘20 was appalling gameplay wise and I was bitterly disappointed that we had once again taken retrograde steps that were the exact opposite of what players had consistently asked for. I can’t reasonably expect SDS to get the game right based on their track record, they failed to improve the game when working exclusively with a system they were intimately familiar with, having developed the franchise on that hardware for a number of years and a multi platform, multi generation title with new features and cross play is surely far in excess of what the studio can comfortably manage, given they’ve barely managed to keep the game functional in years past. Even if the servers can manage to stay online consistently, which would be a mean feat in itself, there’s simply no way the gameplay will be well balanced, fluid and results predominantly based upon user input. It just won’t.
Then there’s the incessant patches which have been a constant menace every year, tending to tinker around with gameplay until the season is mostly over, preventing anyone from improving by practicing consistency, at which point they give up and work on hyping the next years version. I’ve run around this hamster wheel for over half a decade with SDS and this franchise and I’m taking a year off for now. I’d love to see them absolutely nail it and have a phenomenal year, but I’d also like to be a millionaire and bang a few supermodels and that probably ain’t happening either, if I’m realistic.
