New scummy way to try to avoid loss

This happened to me for the 1st time yest. and someone tried it again today, so just a PSA for those who aren't aware of it...
Players are letting the clock run out but at the last second offering a friendly quit. Square would give you win for time penalty but square also accepts friendly quit. I fell for it the 1st time and lost a win. 2nd time after over 3 minutes of pause time I declined FQ and the guy played it out and lost.
This is not new. People have been trying this time wasting tactic for awhile.
Also, I may be mistaken but I believe x accepts the friendly square forces a forfeit.

its square and circle declines... That's fine, it happened to me for the first time yesterday so letting people know.

Well, maybe so.. but I have played an embarrassingly high number of hours and just came across this now... Obviously this post wasn't meant for you.'
So... If you know this already, I get it, old news, it's not meant for you and I acknowledge you're cooler than me... But if you are one of the losers like me who don't know it's old news and didn't know it's a thing you do now...

People have been doing this since the days of Mary Magdalene

MLB the Show 1 A.D. was the best "Show", in my opinion.

If you wouldve took the time to read the screen instead of hitting square right away....
-
I played some toxic loser a few weeks back, doing all the usual toxic non-sense. He lets the pause timer run out and I smash square as fast as possible because I couldn't stand this little dweeb. It took me more than a few minutes to figure out what had happened when the FQ screen popped up afterwards.

I assure you that you are cooler than me... I’m wondering what those d-bags get out of it since even if he successfully tricks the person, he still doesn’t get a W. Am I missing something?

Been happening for years

Obviously a lot of people know about this sneaky ploy. But, some people still don't know about all the scammy things that happen so I think it's fine to make a post and fill in anyone who hasn't had to deal with it yet. If you have... then move on.

I believe since it's a friendly quit that he didn't get hit with the L. He might not get a win but doesn't get a loss.

I know, it's ridiculous. People not letting my homers land just to be a [censored] off too. Makes no sense...but I guess that's the douchebag mentality.

He doesn't get the loss. That's what they get out of it.

It was in a ranked game. Don't get hit with loss and you're pitchers don't lose stamina.
