Lol you have an issue with a BLM bat skin but not the thousands of MAGA teams and pro Trump teams? The line has been crossed already so that argument is weak as hell. Nobody is asking you to have a discussion about a bat skin. Shut up and play.

You have a choice to not use it. You'd have the choice to not redeem the pack. Just like the Jackie Robinson Foundation Bat.
I suspect that a "players weekend" event will likely still happen and a lot of players will use the platform to make statements.
I also agree with another poster above that there are many people using political logo's and team names already. I suspect that you could handle somebody using a bat skin.
Once again, the front page of the game has been covered with quotes and statements by SDS. Adding a bat skin allows them to move on with the business of baseball, but keeping the voices of people throughout the country, active in game in a small and respectful way.

They already released a "Jackie Robisonn Foundation" bat skin that week. That was deffinitley their BLM skin.

I dont see how that would make a difference to somebody who claims that they "play the game to get away from politics." Regardless of who creates it, you see it and you can't escape it. You can feel free to stop playing if a company's stance on BLM bothers you though.

As a Black man - yeah, i admit i'm one, lol - i don't need a BLM bat skin. In fact, i cringe at companies bending over backwards to prove they support it, or others causes/movements, when they don't even mean it.
For instance, i haven't played NHL '20 in a few weeks, but i expect something to be posted there.
I'm more concerned about the lack of blacks in MLB. Not that i need that either to enjoy the sport, i'm just saying that the numbers are always on a decline. I haven't checked lately, but there hasn't been a great black player to market since Griffey Jr. -

Right. Any business that puts on this facade is really just following a hollow trend of BLM. It’ll die down again. I’ve watched their movement closely since 2015 and it’s a very faulty underlying movement through their leaders. -

When did anyone say anything about MAGA or Trump? All I said is I play games to try and relax and not deal with "politics" and crazy things we all deal with everyday. Never once did anyone say they had a problem with a BLM Bat Skin but are okay with MAGA team names. I said ALL politics. What are you even talking about? You have to be trolling...

Nobody said they couldn't "handle" it. Nobody said that they agree with political team names. Read the post again...
Anyone who wants to support a cause or make a difference I encourage to go out there and do it. I just don't think that a bat skin or team name is suddenly going to change someone's politics... Some people just want to play a game and escape for a few hours, no matter what political views you have.

The Jackie Robinson Foundation skin is fine. Its a charity. Its not a Marxist group that funnels money to corrupt politicians like Black Lives Matter.
SDS can do whatever it wishes, but its easier to back their play when they stick with broad causes.
They let their players do almost anything they want in CAP so if their individual employees want to support things openly and speak for themselves, thats fair, too.
I think theyve done a good job just being a positive voice.
Zero points for that lame Marcus Stroman quote though. That guy is a knucklehead.

Does anyone NOT see the possible negative connotations of putting BLM on a bat at this point in time? I'll say it again: BLM on a bat.
I'm sure the morons on both sides could create a scenario where SDS has to backtrack and issue a statement that begins with the words "While we always strive to do better....".
Maybe we should think before we start a virtue signaling campaign.

I really wanted to post what's on my mind reading some of this ,but I won't. I'll just say this and be done with it.
As a black man we want to escape alot of things but we can't. If any of the stuff SDS or any company is doing as far as BLM is concerned, bothers anybody then you're part of the problem, not the solution!! IJS -
I think it's okay if they added a skin or don't. But I played someone recently who changed their team's scoreboard initials to "BLM", if you care personally about making a statement, I think that's a cool place to do it... I look at the score more than my opponent's bat.
