to monitor players... does it really make a difference?

Yeah man, big difference. My monitor is a Samsung 390 series 24” LED curved. It has a 4ms response time and 60 HZ refresh rate. And it works really well. I’m playing on HOF right right now and am usually early/very early on fastballs. Even when I play on legend offline I’m still early on the heaters. A lot of people recommend the monitors with 1 MS and a 144 HZ refresh rate but you can go with a cheaper option like the one that I have and still be very competitive.

People will tell u night and day going from a tv that came out in like 2012 to a monitor . How about a more up to date TV Can anyone tell me how big a difference it is going from a TCL 6 series to a monitor ?asking for a friend.
-
I have a tcl 43S525 and a acer vg271 and I don’t notice a big difference between them with my hitting. Either I’m on or I’m off, there’s no inbetween with me.
I bought the monitor for my pc that I game on a lot not to replace the tv. I did use a old insignia 50 inch before I got the tcl and going from the insignia to the tcl was a huge difference. A newer good tv should do the job just fine.
The problem I have with a monitor right now is the 4k ones are expensive for a good one. Ps5 is around the corner and buying a 1080p monitor now is kinda foolish unless you plan on keeping the ps4 for a few years longer.

I just bought a monitor ($300 price range gaming monitor) to see if there was a big difference from my fairly new (2019 model) samsung. I don't really notice any difference at all. PS4 is 60 hz refresh rate. Newer TV's with game mode have great latency time... so I think when people say "night and day" maybe they are referring to older TV's?

That’s what I’m saying my Tv TCL 6 series is newer TV has game mode and low input lag it’s good for gaming . So maybe a monitor isn’t has necessary for me as someone with a older TV .

Check out Sceptre monitors. I have a 27" curved display that is great. Makes a huge difference

@joeythebigboss
I looked it up and your TV does have probably the best input lag I've seen on a TV at like 11 ms but my TV is around 13-14 and I can definitely notice the difference on a monitor so I'm sure you would as well. its not going to be a omg this is night and day difference but it will be a whoa I used to be very late on that pitch and now I'm not...

Honestly unless it’s night and day I just don’t even know where I would put a monitor as it is I have no space in my room . My TV takes up enough space plus I like playing on a big TV 50+ Inches.

For sure , huge difference

I play on a Hisense 6 series HDR 58 inch TV. I want to get a monitor but I may wait for PS5 and get one with HDR. I like HDR for some reason. If I keep hitting bad I may try it sooner.

I got a curved 1ms response 144 motion monitor and been doing worse, losing BR after 2 to 3 games. Hooked it back up to my 2019 samsung with gaming mode now I'm back to winning 6 plus. I think having a bigger screen helps me

Many new TV’s like the LG C1 and the soon to be released LG C2(available in a 42”) will be just as good as a monitor if you want a multi-use tv. They are all coming with HDMI 2.1 which will give you 120hz. I’ve been a monitor guy for years but this new LG C2 42”might be a must buy for me. My old eyes would enjoy the slightly larger screen.

This is very true. New TVs are just as good as monitors if you choose the right one. I’m happy with my Sony 900h. Great addition to the man cave. Very low input lag. Just waiting for VRR to be added on PS5. It would also be nice for this game to have 120 fps next year.

HDR is generally bad for gaming.

Playing on a monitor is a night and day difference over TV, especially a big screen! As a previous individual mentioned, it doesn’t even have to be a good monitor.
-
Absolutely.
