Those cards play differently, there is something else behind raw attributes I swear. But yeah the crazily over juiced now cards and future stars this year was a bit much I think. They are looking for lineup diversity which is good, but I disservice to the true legends. It’s a delicate balance

So I have been on a tear lately, I came a game shy of ws last season and was thriving with hof speeds and pci. When the season restarted I lost the first game, set back to all-star difficulty. I’ve been stuck in 6-700 range give or take a few points. Being frustrated with the fielding I decided to focus on the event for a while. I have been destroying it in the event, against lots of elite players. I got to a point where I’m having 5-10 perfect perfects a game , multiple hr’s an inning. I finally got the all-star timing down. I played a couple games in ranked again as I was seeing the ball so well won two in a row and got up to 730ish, my last game was finally on hof again, the first since last season. Now after spending so much time playing the event, and in all-star difficulty my timing is out of sorts.
I think pitch speeds should be universal, all-star, hof, a mixture of both? The only thing that should change is the pci size. When people are playing baseball a 95mph fastball isn’t 85 or 105 depending on if they are in aa,aaa, or the bigs. They learn timing and then they lock in. Maybe have veteran for the first couple ranks like spring training and regular season , and legend for ws and above but can we get the meat to just have the same timing windows? Same for events, they should be uniform to what the meat of ranked season is playing in. It’s fairly difficult to learn the timing as is but to have to go back and forth is really counterproductive to excel in the game.
You already have to adjust to what a 100mph FB timing is , a 95 sink or a 75 curve etc, etc. but when you jump a rank and 100 feels like 120 and so on it makes things really weird. It’s tough for someone like me who has been kind of stuck fluctuating around the difficulty thresholds and you get game to game variation.
Just my 2c on a way the gaming experience could be improved from my end. Anyone agree or disagree and why - thanks
(In no order )
- Pitching moments that you have to hit
- Stealing moments with a runner ahead of you so you can’t steal.
2.5. Extra base hit moments with runners on ahead of you who won’t advance, screwing you out of the xbh. - The crazy amount of times that the computer throws over to first base, I had 7 in one at bat once and 3-4 is common. (Annoying!!! I can’t steal bro)
3.5. The times the pitcher actually picks a runner off the bag with two outs and you end your run without getting your at bat (these are especially frustrating on multi hit moments and your on your last at bat and are robbed of it) - The huge increase in [censored] pitches across all difficulties this year, I get 6 balls to every strike I swear. And the strikes are dots, must be nice to be able to dot with such precision. I shouldn’t be getting walked over and over in a hitting moment or have to take a hack at a ball 2 feet out of the zone to continue my at bat.
- The insanely juiced fielding the computer has, everyone is Willie Mays robbing hr’s And making crazy diving plays that I can’t make w actually Willie Mays.
- The fact the computer cheats and knows the exact moment you touch the steal base button and throws over instantaneously and picks your off or does a pitch out (this and many are a problem any time you play the computer)
Please add to this list
Took me about 15 mins to get them all done - already have him prestiged
Finest don’t belong in this, it’s not even within the theme , we’ve had finest for the last two events and the next one also.
Old timers and veterans main requirement should be legends and anyone over 35 from any other card type and that’s it
Slider is nasty, no one else can make my team at this point. As a side note that Johnson boss for showdown is going to be super annoying, like watching water boil
So I have been playing a fair amount this year, and lately a lot of ranked. I’ve logged over 200 ranked games mainly from 6-900. I have encounters so much variation in pitch speeds even when I am home team in the same stadium. For example I played a game recently against gio’s new topps now no hitter card. He was blowing 93 past me , I couldn’t catch up unless I completely sold out without reading the pitch. I can “read” dibble and all the flamethrowers on hof and have good results. This guy wasn’t even pitching in any special way I just could not catch up, extremely late. The game just got weird too.... like there was a slight lag from my user input to the action in the game. A few milliseconds , something minimal but noticeable.
I’m hardwired, nothing changes on my end.
I just played a separate game and from the first pitch I knew there was no latency, the bat swang the instant I pressed x, 100 was easy to read, as was off speed. I was getting great results the whole game, my user input was dead on. Games that are that smooth with minimal latency are hard to come by and it’s hard to adjust on the fly when you get a “bad game” you just have to hope your opponent is dealing with it too and can’t hit either.
I wanted to see what everyone else is doing to mitigate these “bad games” and what sds can do to try and smooth things out for more consistent game play. Sometimes all star is legend speed and sometimes hof is all star, this has to be due to latency I would assume.
I hope there is a fix for this because above all else this is the main issue that makes me get frustrated with the game and question why I even bother. Those smooth games are like the carrot at the end of the stick I’m always wanting. But there are just too many bad connections mixed in at the moment. I’ll champ it out but hoping they look deep into this issue as they are coding 2021.
If all the games ran smooth it makes competing more fair, you can get better having consistent speeds and input results. Making ws would be a breeze for me if all the games ran smooth. Trying to compete against great player and dealing w user input delay on top of it is fairly impossible a task, definitely not fun or enjoyable at all. I have to beat the opponent AND the latency to win.

Why dashboard? Why couldnt you just quit?
Because I felt like it....and I don't cry about it when it happens to me.
You cried about it.. by coming on here after 20 pitches, starting a thread with that title..
Really?
That's funny, because I wrote it in its entirety with a smile on my face. I thought the experience was hilarious.
Nice try though, next.
Legit question. Was this on Allstar?
Legit question, have you used him yet?
It was on all star based on response
So this is just such a comically horrendous idea, parameters that are not much fun in a field that you can’t hit perfect perfect shots out of even if you connect and launch one w 65 power.
Two of the rewards are not dead ball era guys and the one who is if universally known as one of the worst pitchers in the show.
The only way they save face on this is if it’s a complete troll job and at the very end the add honus as like a 200 win reward. People would loose their minds and the card would be a million and ultra rare like real honus card as not many people would have time to get to the 2 or 300 wins in last week.
I would love this to happen myself, would get some buzz going. Honus was a deadball era legend and would be the only way to make his card have the least amount in circulation. Deadball 2 add 50 more win rewards. Then on the last week add 100 or 150 and make honus the final reward!
mommy..... I don’t want to play hr derby so you need to take it away from billy!!!!

My preference is 3 regular hof , or 6 quick all star if they have to do 6.
Yeah it makes no sense at all, the other event should go to 100 at least and this one is dead after 40

Imagine banging out 40 six inning event games in 7 days for a 1B bat that isn't even top 5 with just 12 weeks to go before the game is wrapped up. F in the chat.
I'm going to, but only because at this point I am trying to collect every card possible and I'm not paying a million for a bench bat on the Giants theme team lol
Lol well in that case it makes perfect sense for your goals. I haven't taken a look at prestigeable people for the event just yet either.
Its pretty much just Finest cards, Marichal, Frank, and Papi that are prestigable
Nasty Nate
Good warm up for ranked , I’ll get nen and call it aside from pre ranked warm ups
Mccoveys card is total [censored] w less than 90 contact vs lefties and we have Ortiz , babe , belli, Stan, Gehrig all power lefties with better lines
The world is out to get you
Wagner , gossage , feller and mays are all must have imo
My guess is super tall dudes only and nen playing for the giants is a bit of an inside dooping
