to monitor players... does it really make a difference?

Check out Sceptre monitors. I have a 27" curved display that is great. Makes a huge difference

@joeythebigboss
I looked it up and your TV does have probably the best input lag I've seen on a TV at like 11 ms but my TV is around 13-14 and I can definitely notice the difference on a monitor so I'm sure you would as well. its not going to be a omg this is night and day difference but it will be a whoa I used to be very late on that pitch and now I'm not...

Honestly unless it’s night and day I just don’t even know where I would put a monitor as it is I have no space in my room . My TV takes up enough space plus I like playing on a big TV 50+ Inches.

For sure , huge difference

I play on a Hisense 6 series HDR 58 inch TV. I want to get a monitor but I may wait for PS5 and get one with HDR. I like HDR for some reason. If I keep hitting bad I may try it sooner.

I got a curved 1ms response 144 motion monitor and been doing worse, losing BR after 2 to 3 games. Hooked it back up to my 2019 samsung with gaming mode now I'm back to winning 6 plus. I think having a bigger screen helps me

Many new TV’s like the LG C1 and the soon to be released LG C2(available in a 42”) will be just as good as a monitor if you want a multi-use tv. They are all coming with HDMI 2.1 which will give you 120hz. I’ve been a monitor guy for years but this new LG C2 42”might be a must buy for me. My old eyes would enjoy the slightly larger screen.

This is very true. New TVs are just as good as monitors if you choose the right one. I’m happy with my Sony 900h. Great addition to the man cave. Very low input lag. Just waiting for VRR to be added on PS5. It would also be nice for this game to have 120 fps next year.

HDR is generally bad for gaming.

Playing on a monitor is a night and day difference over TV, especially a big screen! As a previous individual mentioned, it doesn’t even have to be a good monitor.
-
Absolutely.

The difference between my monitor which I barely use and my TCL tv is a noticeable difference. I play primary on my tv because it’s just convenient. If I have a few beers I find that switching to the monitor helps with my drinking impairment. It’s like it syncs up perfectly to my slower response.

Currently a championship player on a 2012 Samsung TV (had to settle, I've broken a lot of TVs) but I was thinking about getting a monitor. Is it worth it?
A little bit, not huge, but noticeable

I was horrible on my TV .... now I'm less horrible on my monitor lol for real just the fact of seeing the ball "tunnel" from the pitcher hand making this game enjoyable I'll say but this year hitting is a shnit show !

thanks... been stuck at in the 750-850 range for a while with this tv. getting one asap.
The highest I ever got in 18 was about 890. That was the last year I played on a TV. Playing on a monitor was the main thing that pushed me over the WS threshold in 19.
I wish I could get a monitor. I have a 32” Samsung SmartTV, which has a game mode that helps make the lighting for this game better. 1080 is ok but I know there are better options.
But what can I do? I have a lot of savings, but I am about to graduate college and start a paid internship, and with the economy the way it is, I don’t know if I can make that investment.
I’m a bit of a miser, I know XD

HDR is generally bad for gaming.
It shouldnt be. As long as the panel can display it properly it will look great. But most panels advertise HDR but cannot get bright enough for it to look good. And HDR doesnt affect input lag or response so you dont have to worry about that.
