Aww, shoot... we're getting told on. Before this thread is closed and I'm suspended along with dap, I need to know......Did @dap1234567890_PSN send you a PM? Ya'll should meet IRL, catch a game together and slam beers. I think dap needs that more than anyone. He's replying to the void right now, on a Friday in July. I feel for bro. (or sis?)

That said, there are fair criticisms to level. I have seen over five years bug reports issued first with MLB 21 that have gone to this day unfixed. Folks, there's no excuse for that! And I'm talking about basic functions not working properly, like stadium seats in custom stadiums going from their assigned colors to pure white or most recently grey for no good reason, spoiling the look of stadiums already blanched of life by deliberate efforts to ensure they are trapped in relative degradation.
I want to highlight this again, because this is related to what the thread was started for. It reminded me of something that happened in WWE in recent years. I'm not as big a fan as I used to be. I was all about the Stone Cold Steve Austin days. Slowly wrestling started to turn into something I didn't recognize, a'la what I'm talking about with The Show. I still had love for wrestling and wanted it to be good again (much like The Show), but that didn't happen for a long, long time. I'd pay attention here and there, usually around the time of their biggest events. (and I used to watch every event.) But then, I discovered CM Punk and if anyone's familiar, it was right around the time he was the hottest wrestler in the industry. I saw WWE fumble that entire storyline which lead to him walking out of the company for 10 years and returning to the stale, childish product they had been putting out since the Chris Benoit incident.
Finally, the fans started doing something about it. CM Punk walking out, combined with elevating part timers over popular top talent made the fans revolt. They started to hijack shows, start hashtags etc. The heat got pretty extreme, and ultimately the fans started getting what they wanted again. Then AEW started and was legitimately popular for a few years. That competition forced WWE to step up their game and ultimately benefitted the product because of it. Are they at the level they were in the 90's? No. And frankly, I don't know if them selling to TKO is going to be a good thing. It seems like things are kind of regressing under their watch. But for a time, fan complaints and competition lead to WWE becoming a more interesting product after years of stale and bottom of the barrel entertainment. I would love to see the same thing happen to The Show, but sadly it seems there are too many people denying the game's problems / fighting against it improving. As long as people are steadfast in them going down this wrong direction, I fear I will never get to play a quality baseball title again.

If u want this game to go back to its former glory DD should be removed.
This game got worse and worse every year since DD was introduced.
-
@toeter83_PSN
Honestly, you might be right. Sad thing is, on paper DD should be an absolute blast. I love putting together teams, lineups, opening cards, designing jerseys and stadiums etc... but I think Ultimate Team modes might be a culprit behind the decline in the 3 major sport franchises. Not to mention, it's well past time to discontinue yearly installments. It should be like Fortnite or Warzone where it's just one game, but gets updated over the years. They could always charge for new jerseys and rosters. But yeah, won't hold my breath. -
@Squid_Adams_PSN yeah my opinon as well man.
The first year DD was introduced was cool though. 16 to but 17 and 18 where already games where things got nerved to favor payin players ( nrg)
I also never liked the 99 cards with 125 power or whatever.
They should add a mode in dd with only live series cards and no rng. I would love that. -
@toeter83_PSN
17 was probably the one I enjoyed most, as Griffey has always been one of my favorites. I think that's the last year where 99 or 100 was the highest power went (and it took a lot longer to fill your team out with diamonds) It seems like 18 was where more and more people started to dislike the series... also when they introduced 125 power. Now there's just too much emphasis on home runs, because I guess people think baseball is boring unless every hit is a bomb. Market is ripe for an arcade baseball / the return of MLB Slugfest. While I understand why they did it (to make things go quicker) not having to warm up pitchers and giving everyone a DH has sucked some strategy out of the game. I'm with you, I'd like some kind of mode that caps your team's overall / live series cards and gold, silver and bronze cards are in play. Make people decide on how to deck out their lineup strategically instead of just putting 99's at every position. The strategy is part of what makes baseball great. Seems they forget that there's more to their audience than young broccoli haircut bros who want to throw gas and hit bombs.

Its a private forum. You don't have any freedom of speech rights here
100% … I was out when I read it

Way to get us off topic again. You don't have free speech in Germany, so of course you're in favor of restricting what people can say and think. As long as I'm not making threats, yelling choice words in a movie theater or airplane, and following the code of conduct, I'm good to go!
What we're talking about is what's wrong with The Show. As you can see, others do agree with what I'm saying, just too many SDS fanboy clones trying to muddy up the waters with unrelated posts and get this thread locked.
-
Just to address your first concern about all your topics being locked. They get locked if people in the forum report them. Just letting you know. Also, enough people report you and you also get booted.

…. You really have no clue … at all … but this was a well-formed application to my block list. Welcome there

You would have retained far more goodwill if you simply blocked his account, which is of course your right to do, without the public notice that you did so. In my view, that crossed its own line into personal insult. So, that sort of weakens any moral foundation you had to your own action, wouldn't you agree?
-
That's the playbook. Involve yourself in something, hear words you don't like, block people and/or run away. It's not like there were any lies told. You can be jailed for speech in Germany. While I may not agree with what people would have to say in order to be put into a German prison, I don't support the imprisonment of people saying words. That's a slippery slope, but hey... I'm on your block list, so you won't see this anyway lol. Being of German heritage, I loved Germany when I visited in the late 2000's. Witnessing German people become so soft since then has been really sad to see.

Unfortunately, people don't seem to want to acknowledge your presence which is beyond rude. Their focus is solely on me and getting this thread locked. -
@PriorFir4383355_XBL blocking someone and telling him is no insult
… So, no, I would not. There are ppl in forums that have to know when it is enough.
-
Appreciate the heads up. Love me a nice, respectful exchange!

Well, then, to each their own. But, in my world, that's called rubbing it in someone's face, and it isn't considered good manners. But, perhaps I come from a bygone era of how people treat each other.
Cheers!

@Squid_Adams_PSN yet you still don’t understand free speech and that the US is not the only country who has it. Look to your president if you want to know what free speech suppression is.
-
Where are you from, @yankblan_PSN ? Didn't realize baseball was so popular outside of the U.S! Strange to be amongst so many who don't want freedom to speak, but I guess I also assumed the majority of people here would be from the U.S.
-
They track all the countries with free speech and the USA is ranked 9th in global ranking for support of free speech rights since 2021. So there are enough countries for the USA to be ranked 9th.
-
Assuming that's true, that should bother all U.S citizens. Likely a recent development over the last 10-20 years with political correctness taking hold of so many people. The fear to say the wrong thing, resulting in being silenced / having your life ruined is real. This is the kind of thing people need to fight against. It has a real "fall in line" feel to it.
I remember being younger and reading about South Park or Family Guy being banned in countries like Vietnam, Saudi Arabia and Jordan (not the actual list, but you can get the idea) and thinking about how crazy that level of censorship was. Fast forward to today and episodes of South Park have been removed from American streaming platforms, Comedy Central and even the South Park website. You either have to find some questionable streaming sites or have the physical DVDs. Same goes with episodes of Workaholics, among others I'm sure. The Office has been edited / had scenes removed. People should not be okay with that. It's perfectly cool if you don't want to indulge in shows like that, but that doesn't mean other people should be stripped of the option. The constitution guarantees us these rights, and unless you want to live in a repressive society and drop lower than 9th... I suggest you defend them whenever you can. That includes people saying things you may not like or agree with (a'la "The Show is a Bad Game")

Hi,
For the record, we have no problem with you all criticizing the game itself, as long as that does not devolve into personal attacks or result in the breaking of other forums rules.
I'm locking this thread because it has done those two things. Anyone who has actually read the forum rules will be able to pick out the issues here.
If similar threads are posted and they progress as this one has, they'll be locked too -- not because we're "silencing opinions", but because we expect the members of our forums to show respect for one another and follow the rules -- full stop.
If anyone has any questions or would like clarification on anything, feel free to DM me.
