Who do you think SDS will go with? Maybe Witt Jr., Jose Ramirez, Ohtani, Gunnar Henderson, Soto, Betts, Lindor, Elly, or Ketel Marte? Maybe someone else?
It would be awesome if they found a way to honor all of their previous cover guys with an awesome 25th-anniversary collector's edition, which I would gladly spend $150 on.

Prob be Freddie freeman
-
@Dinger_Dan19_PSN Trout has a contract with that mobile game so he can't endorse other games. Not sure it would exclude him from being the cover boy...but I'm not sure why you'd put someone on the cover that can't endorse your game.

Would be smart though to do Skenes.

It's not the 25th anniversary.
Next year will be the 20th anniversary of the MLB The Show Franchise.
25 will simply be the year it is released.
-
It will be Soto, a where will he sign marketing campaign similar to Harper 5 years ago

Yes, you are correct. I was thinking of the original Sony baseball studio.

Mookie hasn’t gotten it yet so it would make sense because the Dodgers won. Trout also hasn’t gotten it which feels like a crime. SDS though seems to be hitting culture requirements based on the last few cover athletes so it’ll probably be Acuna. Would be smart though to do Skenes.
They’ve definitely shown that they won’t necessarily always go with someone coming off a great or good year (with good being noticeably above average and better than just solid). Just solid is what I’d say Guerrero Jr. was offensively in 2023 before getting this year’s nod. Chisholm is certainly another example. I hope to see Betts get it. He’s very popular, very marketable, and very well liked around the league. A couple guys I’d say are dark horses are Gunnar and Elly, but both most likely won’t be on. Elly seems like he’d be a good choice if chosen though. And yeah, Soto could be the guy. He checks a lot of the boxes. -

Counting the prior 989 Sports baseball games we are past 25 as there were 9 versions of that title.

@knc104pcknc_PSN
It wont be ohtani
or judge -
Gonna be either Skenes or Freeman, me thinks. Although, Elly De La Cruz would be my "surprise" pick
-
I'd love for it to be Francisco Lindor but wouldn't be mad at Juan Soto (especially if he signs with my Mets!)
-
Does it even matter anymore? How many people are still playing with Guerrero or ever did this year. If they have a cover athlete at least their card should be a little bit jacked in comparison to other 99's, Don't recall anyone saying "Wow, remember that Jazz Chisolm from '23?" either.

Not much in the grand scheme of things. I don’t even play online. The aesthetics is a big part of it though. Plus, it’s cool to see someone from your favorite team get the nod. -
Hi
It should be the MVP player of the World Series. Like this past world series it was Freddie Freeman.
