First Astros game back in 1973 for me, but with the unfortunate recent events ('17) involving my team I really do not think a lot of people want to see any Astros anytime soon on the cover.

I'm locked in on seeing which teams truly haven't been represented & which player has been on the most. So I looked at every console game with an MLBPA/ MLB license (RBI Baseball, The Bigs, Backyard Baseball, etc. Alternate covers still not included)

Instead of 1 or 2 current Major Leaguers they should keep it one current and one past star like last year.

MLB22 only had Ohtani. MLB20 only had Baez. It’s possible MLB24 only has one player on both covers.

While you’re tabulating all these cover athletes add in the 6 Toronto Blue Jays for Canadian versions of the game from 2012-2017, Jose Bautista got it twice. The Padres, Rangers x2, Pirates and Orioles from the Korean versions from 2006, 2014-2017. Shin-Soo Choo got it twice for Texas. And the Orioles 3 times and Marlins 2 times all for Wei-Yin Chen for the Taiwan covers. Since your tagging in random games and all.
I think you forgot World Series Baseball. Another random game but one with the MLB license.

They’ve always had an MVP edition and I don’t recall these special 42 cards. Explain them more to me. I was working and didn’t play DD until 2022.

23 had Chisholm & JeterThey've begun a trend with two different covers. I don't see why they'd change now.

Not a big deal. Just cards released to commemorate Jackie. I think they were primarily minority players. Both legend and flashbacks. I used the Keston Hiura card for over a month. The collection was a Jackie card. I think that was the year they also did his awesome AS card.

Although Judge was the first one I purchased, I didn't really start playing until the end of Harper and didn't preorder until Tatis. I do remember Baez being very different than the rest because of Covid.

What if the cover athlete being on both is determined by how big the athlete is? Tatis was also just in the league less than a full season, games played wise. Jazz was Jazz. If 2024 is a mega star they might warrant both the normal cover and special edition cover.

My main hope is that they have a better cover photo and color scheme this time around.
Speaking of which, given the black and yellow color schemes of the teasers, has anyone guessed a Roberto Clemente cover?
