I'm down to my last two Fall bosses after picking the Babe, Junior and Foxx. I will definitely take Guererro. For the last one, I'm going between Sale and Eckersley. I have different reasons for wanting each one. I'm a Red Sox fan, but I saw Eck pitch several times in Oakland and he was devastating (even if I wasn't always rooting for him). I'm really torn between the two. I've seen comments here that people have had issues with Eck 99. Would you take Eck or Sale?

Take one and buy the other.

Didn't Eckersley spend more years with Boston than Sale has? If that's a deciding factor than Eckersley is the winner.

Eck is always one of my favorite relievers (probably 3rd after Goose and Wagner). I'm a big White Sox fan and I always collect everyone who ever wore a Sox uniform (freakin' Jimmy Rollins....) but I still chose Eckersley as a freebie and I'll just buy Sale some time down the road.

You and I think a lot alike -- I also took Babe, Foxx, and Junior along with Eck. But I am going to take Gibson in my 5th pack rather than Vlad. I already have so many outfielders, and the two biggies (Mantle and Mays) are still on the way.

so do you think the Takashi mays is not the final version for mays? And if not, do you think that applies to griffey as well?

You expecting retro finest for both/all?

I took Eck, and already have his earlier card at P5, kinda regret it due to my loyalty to earlier Eck. He was my closer from day 1 and will always be the closer. Sale was my other choice too. I have Rivera, Hoffman, Chapman, but Eck will always be the guy

I’ve had much more success with Sale in past years than Eck. Rollie always ends up filling the funk role in my pen instead of Eck. That forkball is tough to beat.

I think the Takashi of Griffey is his final card. Mays on the other hand is due a better card. Its a decent card for a 99 but it doesn't represent how great he was in his career but that's just my opinion.

It'd be cool to get a sig series for Mantle instead of the RF

I took Eck but I also want Sale and Gibson. I figured at this point I would use Eck more since the lack of top end righties in the pen. But you bring up another good point is what other 99s are getting an upgrade. I think Griffey is done, his Takashi cards is the best card he has ever gotten. Mays is a total question mark. Does it really represent him in all his glory? no but it still is a really good card. If we get another Mays it will have to be once the final promo or even is out. Im more interested in a Mantle card who we should be getting very soon based on how the earlier Griffey and Mantle were released.

I’ve been itching for a 1995 Retro Maddux since Brett was released. Favorite pitcher growing up and of all time. Would be so fun.

If you're not going to buy the one you don't pick, then choose by which position you need more. An excellent closer or an excellent starter. They are both great cards so you can't lose with either one.

I suspect the recent Griffey is probably his final card for the year. His attributes are so good that there’s very little (reasonable) room for improvement.

Mays, on the other hand, is almost certainly getting a better card. In my personal opinion, Mays might very well be the best ballplayer in history, so his card should reflect that. His current 99 leaves a whole lot to be desired.

I think Sale is filthy and has a bigger impact on your team when he’s in the game. To be completely honest I think Sale is a top 3 pitcher in the game and maybe even higher.

I agree with @TEXAS10PT_PSN Mays usually gets a much better card, it may not be a Retro Finest, but he doesn’t need it to be one. Griffey Jr.’s Takashi card has amazing attributes, and along with his swing, I believe will be my best card. Another guy that has a card that is more deserving is Gehrig. Like Mays, it’s not a bad card, but it isn’t good for a Gehrig card. I don’t know if they will fix him, but I hope so.

I took Eckersley. Very rare a relief pitcher has that good of a Strikeout vs walk ratio

I agree. He's just plain nasty. I really liked his earlier Lightning card.

I thought Eck cards were generally considered trash in the game-- too easy to see his release point and pick up pitches.
I know I have a lot of success against him in years past.
Every year I give him a shot and usually regret it one game later. Haha

What do you need more. A top RH reliever, or a top starting pitcher? I haven’t got as far as you but I picked Griffey first, I will definitely take Foxx and Babe, but I don’t know where to go from there my self. I don’t need Mauer or Lindor, but Eck, Sale, and Vlad Guerrero I do want. Who is the 9th player I didn’t list?
