It is completely fair bro!!! Take a look at Judge’s career numbers. Yes, it’s a season for the ages, but it’s still one season. Pujols, Bonds, Miggy……Judge is not even close to the same category.

Meh, I think Judges is more of a big deal. Pujols has been irrelevant for like the last 10 years. He doesnt get a pass for stealing all that money. Judge is the current and future of this game. Pujols and his longevity is amazing, especially after having a sub par career in Anaheim. He could have shattered the records if he played like he did and has in St Louis. But 62 is a huge deal. Unfortunately lessened by Bonds, Sosa and Mc Gwire.

Before we compare Judge in his prime against Pujols in his decline maybe compare them during the same ages.

Judge has played 5 full seasons (> 100 games) and in his full seasons his Avg and HR totals are

    .284 and 52 (Age 25)
    .278 and 27 (Age 26)
    .272 and 27 (Age 27)
    .287 and 39 (Age 29)
    .311 and 62 (age 30)

    Pujols at the same ages

    .330 and 41 (age 25)
    .331 and 49 (age 26)
    .327 and 32 (age 27)
    .327 and 47 (age 29)
    .312 and 42 (age 30)

In those years judge hit 197 HRs and Pujols hit 211 while Pujols hit for better average.

I am not trying to diminish Judge as he has been fantastic but it seems people want to compare Judge in his age 24-30 seasons to Pujols in his age 32 to 41 seasons with the Angels.

I respect your opinion, but your opinion is wrong! It was NOT “lessened”. The owners were in on it. I refuse to put anything on the players. The owners were so happy the turnstiles were spinning after the strike, they didn’t give a darn what the players were taking. And If you think Pujols “stole” money, then they’re all stealing money. Soooooooo many players are overpaid.

No one is tying to compare what you are comparing except for you. It's great what Pujols has done, but don't let your homerism blind you from the fact that Pujols' angels contract was atrocious. He single handedly gave the Angels ownership an excuse to not improve the team and gave Mike Trout and Shohei a combined 1 playoff game between them. I'll give it to Pujols as many thought he wouldn't get to 700, and by all means he's probably a top 5 hitter ever top 10 at worst, but Judge hitting 62 is absolutely more relevant than Pujols hitting 700. Quite literally no one but cardinals fans has cared about Pujols from about 2015-homerun 690. No one's dismissing what Pujols as done. Judge broke a 60 year record

Sounds to me like that Artie Moreno’s fault and not Alberts fault.

I agree with this 100. But this isn't what I was saying. I was comparing accomplishments. Single season HR record is huge. No doubt Pujols was better than Judge has stated. And if I had to bet will be the better player even at the end of Judges career

    He deserves it.
The man is a beast, and many will consider him the true single season HR King over Giant Head Barry Bonds, Steroid Godzilla McGuire, and singles hitter turned roid rager Sammy Sosa.

To be fair, literally no one has talked about or referred to this as an AL Record until this year. This is just MLB and sportswriters trying to whitewash the single season HR record. No serious baseball fan refers to or focuses on AL or NL records, they're just ML records.

“Singles hitter turned roid rager” lol. Bro nobody goes from a singles hitter to over 600 bombs because of a magic pill. I don’t care if it’s the greatest magic pill ever!!

Exactly. I can't stand that steroids have tainted certain records but to dumb it down that a pill or shot of something gave someone the ability to hit a lot of homers is stupid.

30 years old and this is his first full healthy year, that should be a red flag. He's amazing when healthy but it will be a very risky contract.

Already agreed that they should have done a program for Pujols, but at the end of the day he still got a ridiculous (and FREE) 99 overall and you know they will release one for Miggy as well before too long.

I must’ve misunderstood the convo then. I’m glad SDS is celebrating Judge! I’m not sure about a Miggy card though. They gave him the all star card and he got the 500 card last year, so it wouldn’t surprise me if SDS skips him. Just seems like something they would do.

Albert Pujols has many fans that aren't just Cardinals fans. And quite a bit of that Fandom is for things he has done off the field. Been a Braves fan since I was a little boy but Pujols has been my favorite player for a long time now. Hate to see him retire but it's the right time.

    .278 and 27 (Age 26)
    .272 and 27 (Age 27)
    .287 and 39 (Age 29)
    .311 and 62 (age 30)

    Pujols at the same ages

    .330 and 41 (age 25)
    .331 and 49 (age 26)
    .327 and 32 (age 27)
    .327 and 47 (age 29)
    .312 and 42 (age 30)

In those years judge hit 197 HRs and Pujols hit 211 while Pujols hit for better average.

I am not trying to diminish Judge as he has been fantastic but it seems people want to compare Judge in his age 24-30 seasons to Pujols in his age 32 to 41 seasons with the Angels.

Judge is the 6th player to hit 60 HRS in a season. Pujols is one of only 4 to ever hit 700. They are both amazing feats and not really sure how you can compare the two in a fair way. It will be interesting to see what type of numbers Judge finishes with.

    He deserves it.
The man is a beast, and many will consider him the true single season HR King over Giant Head Barry Bonds, Steroid Godzilla McGuire, and singles hitter turned roid rager Sammy Sosa.
You go with your bad self, Aaron Judge.
Court is in session, B word!

You honestly don't think it's as straight forward or as simple as "a pill or shot gave someone the ability to hit homers" do you?

Maybe the better question is why do you think those guys took steroids?
