Surprisingly, SDS actually made a huge improvement to sim times this year. It used to take at least twice as long to sim each hex. but I completely agree -- it takes way too long and there's really nothing strategic about it. Just build up an army and sim, reload, repeat. If there was more to it than just click and wait, I think that would be kinda cool
I agree….they did a great job of improving the sim times. I just still don’t understand how this mode relates to a baseball game. People always tell me “it’s like Risk” and “you get all these free packs”. That still just does t help me understand how it relates to a baseball game.
People also say there really isn’t anything new they can do with the game. How about a conquest type mode that doesn’t involve hexagons and numbers, but involves random attacks where I have to shutdown the heart of their order with my ace or I have to score a run in one inning against their ace.
That kinda sounds like Showdown, which everyone hates.
Which is always interesting to me….people hate Showdown which is baseball oriented yet love Conquest which is based on a board game. People love conquest because of free packs, not what they are actually doing in the mode. People hate Showdown because of the one and done nature of it.

if you don't like those game options then throw your game into the trash, it's not for you

Nope. Several of the streamers I watch didn’t switch last year, but did this year. Heck, I haven’t played Madden since 2012 and I switched (I don’t stream). The show gameplay is a mess and the “playing as intended” line really cheesed a lot of people off.

i've played this game since sammy sosa was on the cover - online plays just fine - every year has it's own issues - you sound like you don't like OFFLINE and ONLINE modes - why are you even here ? we get it - you don't like the game - no one cares - can you get over it mentally at this point?

I hate showdowns because they are regurgitated moments packaged as “showdowns” with an entry fee. Well at least that was how they were laid out when I stopped playing them a year ago.

To be fair, the streamers left in droves a while ago, before Madden Beta dropped. Sooo it kind of is an indictment on the game, probably doesn’t help that SDS banned a lot of their community for no reason either.

I get being a lazy B grade dev and copying “moments” from EA games but it’s a bit over bored these days. Hopefully EA comes up with something new so SDS can copy it a decade later and then never change content for 4 years. If anything maybe just get worse and worse until EA comes up with another original idea SDS can mimic. TheShow community is counting on you EA!!
