Kirk is good, but bc his pci is so big, you’ll make bad contact outs on pitches you’d normally foul off or miss completely. Also his 18 speed seems slower than guys with 0 speed. I think I’m going to give Kendall a try

Yeah I can see that happening with Kirk especially since his power is somewhat lacking. Nice thing about him is that he's got that Pop Time quirk, but the not so good thing is that he's got a 78 arm!

Kendall looks about the same, but no Pop Time quirk! Yadi has got Pop Time and a 94 arm, but is a slow 41 speed. Willson has Pop Time a 94 arm a Lefty Killer but woould get killed by RHPs. Cartaya has a nice bat against all pitchers, but is lacking in that blocking and has no Pop Time.

Someone on here recently said they tried Yadi and he is better than past versions of him. You know the defense will be good - probably worth a try

I did forget about Napoli! He would be a good choice as well! His weaknesses are the power vs RHPs and his weak arm. He is up there with the others I mentioned.

A Signature or Retro Finest Posada would be on the top of my list. He has a great swing and tough finding a ton of switch-hitting catchers with some pop.

Piazza. Take your pick. His 88 or his TO.

It’s gonna be hard to find a better hitting catcher than Napoli.

Yadi has been solid for me. Switched from Contreras who had taken the place of Piazza who obviously had more pop but could not throw anyone out. Contreras defense was suprisingly lack luster. Yadi has solid contact with occasional pop and is not as slow as he has previouly been.
Biggio I think could be a viable option and he is free. Although he is not the Biggio from a couple of years ago. I really am intrigued with the new Bench card. Stats wise looks comparable to Piazza but Bench has pop time which is huge. I unsure about his swing though. But Bench also has position flexibility if you need that. Kirk was too slow, Cartaya is solid but I ended up selling him for almost 100k. Hard to invest that much in a position with either free or much cheaper options that are stated similarly.

I personally love Kendall. Plays over his attributes. Nice surprise drop today.

Napoli is an absolute beast. Don't sleep on Monthly Realmuto with solid 85/79 speed and steal. His hitting attributes aren't amazing but like last year he plays above them.

Yadi has been playing well for me so far, so have Kirk and Contreras. Can't get Piazza going.

Also, unless you hate FS cards- Henry Davis is a great choice.

I bought Kendall last night just to try him out, 10 at bats 5 hits with two home runs. Plus he hit a home run against both sides. He really could be a sneaky pick for a top ranked catcher. Especially with good contact and vision, great speed and 95 blocking. He has a pretty nice swing too.

I’ve hit well with the FS catchers — Davis, Langeliers, and Bart in particular. I haven’t used Melendez or Cartaya but they’re probably worth a shot.

Best catcher IMO is Biggio but you get extra swag points for rocking Molina or Piazza, and negative swag points for rocking Bench or Carter.

In our Custom DD league we've had running for a few years, Kendall has been a staple on my teams. Glad you enjoyed the test drive.

All I can say is I’m mind blown. 11 at bats with 3 home runs, 2 against righties with 69 power. 🤯

I agree with Monthly Realmuto, was really surprised how well I hit with him and that speed is nice from the catcher spot.

I bet you're loving that Napoli card. As the commentators love to say, he's turned into an absolute beast. He almost destroyed us in the 2011 WS too.

Almost...tear runs down face (white dot tears)... almost..goes to room, closes door, gets in bed and slowly pulls covers up... almost

Yeah if you want the best hitting catcher it's Napoli BY FAR.

For a balanced catcher, I love Future Stars MJ Melendez. His defense is right up there with anybody and I love his swing.

Only problem for me is I kind of need to start a righty catcher since my lineup is already lefty-heavy.
