Did the catcher from Toronto get a card?
No, he'll probably get a jacked up all star card though in a few weeks.

Cool I hope so. Astros short stop needs a card too

I’m hoping for a Jon Gray mid tier POTM and a Topps Now Chad Kuhl.
Jon Gray gets a 95 (the higher tier) for June.
The Topps now for this week already announced. Its Aaron Hicks, Cristian Javier, Isaac Paredes and Michael Chavis (unless you are expecting Kuhl in a future topps now release)
He may or may not be the best pick, I honestly don't know, but do we have to have a Yankee in every card drop?
Even the SDS guys were making cracks in the last stream about how many Yankee cards were being introduced.

[censored], really wanted Schwarber. Better swing, better secondary positions, and his LS is a silver where Yordan already has a diamond.
Schwaber wouldn't have C as a secondary this year if he was the lightning card. His LS card this year doesn't have C as a secondary so his lighting card wouldn't either.
This is the best outcome as Schwarbers lightning card from last year could return as a classics card later in the year with C as a secondary
Right, but at least he plays 1B on top of OF.

Schwabs is getting a card in this program. Also Bryan Reynolds is getting one
But Edwin Diaz should have over Walker's SP card.
I'm guessing he will get the Mets All Star card in a few weeks. DeGrom and Scherzer have options for other awards cards and such, Alonso will have HR Derby card to Diaz as AS.

TL;DR: No clue on what criteria is, but Yankee cards are probably easy to market (plus they seem to have a lot of big moments/good or great players pass through the organization).
I really have no idea what goes into the selections of which Topps now cards to feature. I'd like to think there's a consideration for positional balance (2 IFs, 1 OF, 1 P) and maybe BR usefulness? As a 91, he'll at least be a viable BR option for one of the low diamond rounds along with Chavis/Paredes. Javier will likely only see use in Astro fan rotations or for Topps now Xp grind for POTM.
On the other hand regarding number of Yankee cards (even excluding topps now) is probably just a combo of NYY being a popular franchise (and easy to "market") and there being a lot of good/great players that have played there at some point. It allows SDS to give out a lot more cards. John Smoltz being an a great example of "how many of the same player do we need". Atleast with a guy like say Reggie...you get at least 2 useful versions (PS NYY, MVP OAK)
EDIT: Not to say the Yankees don't have their share of overly used players...I know Gehrig already has 2, Rivera has 2 (and you can bet both will get 99s at some point) but it just seems like a lot of players have really good seasons at some point in their careers with the Yanks.
I mean -- take a guy like Mussina...his Sig card should be an Oriole but instead they made it a NYY Card and put it as the ALE collection. But if they did that, then there's really no option for a Yanks Mussina (Vet card?)
Sorry for the long post.

I mean isn't the argument we also have so many left handed hitting players that can play first base.
In the end he still got one for this set so all is well in the world

I like his swing and would find a way to work him into my lineup any way possible. I'm sure I'll love this card, and will use it way more than YA.

My gut feeling is that Bryan Reynolds card might be the most useful card to come out today. His FOTF and monthly awards card last year were insane.
Also Lopez might be nasty. He didn’t give up a run all month long. He also hasn’t given up a home run all year I don’t think. Plus he’s a closer with 5 pitches and a hard sinker.
-
YA should be a good bench bat...at least until the AS/HRD cards are released.

I’m actually more excited for the BR card than Alvarez
Switch hitter good fielder great speed- I usually rake with his cards

You are right, but when there are only 8 teams close to 50 wins and they are pushing 60......
Edit: i hadnt been on yet when i wrote this, it is complete BS that Hicks who has been terrible gets a card for 1 swing just so a dev can have his theme team when they could have honored someones accomplishment, especially since with as well as the team is playing its not like they arent going to have another 10000 special moments in the 2nd half of the year. -

Astros just 4.5 games back of them now. Catching up quick

I'm beyond happy with the Yordon card. In case you haven't tried his live series this card straight mashes!!! He was glitchy as a gold for real. I've been waiting for a high diamond card of his.
Gonna probably be a bench bat, but probably will be there for a long time! And Sale isn't half bad either! -
I didn’t know Jon gray had a good month. I’m happy to get Ranger players but I doubt I’ll use him outside this program just like Martin Perez.
