So is the FOTF collection not needed? I didn't even look to see if 1 was able to be skipped. I don't need much from the remaining collections I need.

Future stars is the more expensive set compared to FOTF. And you only need 27 of the FOTF to complete it.

I did another method, equally effective:

    Step 1:. Collect underpants
    Step 2: ???
    Step 3:. Finest Brett

You a Gnome? That's cool. I've been called a Troll. Can we be friends despite our differences?

Oh, and to answer the OP question. Here's my path.

1- Got a job. Was pretty good at it
    2- Make a F-Ton of money
    3- Buy missing cards.
    4- Get Brett

I thought I was well prepared but then they really went overboard with some of the cards needed. I still have Awards, Takashi and Topps now to complete. Figured I would wait for Topps now tomorrow and get that set done for free. I have the stubbs to complete the other two, just hard to justify that type of expense on bench warmers. Hopefully we get an awards headliner or Takashi headliner that takes some sting out of the price. Plus I'm going on vacation next week so even if I got Brett in the next few days I would not be able to use him much till July.

First off because of my previous experience I knew this type of collection was coming. I saved every card I earned all year, Never sold anything but duplicates…Fast forward to when the program dropped. I immediately started grinding EVERYTHING. The moments, The conquest, The missions, ect…By doing this I maximized the XP and I then sold every FOTF card as soon as I got them. I made over 500k doing this and was able to buy the last remaining cards I needed to complete Brett…No flipping cards, No spending money, No RTTS glitch…Just attacked the program & grinded my azz off!…Now that you know, Go get him!

Sounds like if someone had a life/family, they wouldn't be able to complete it until the end of the summer. No offense.

I am out at work 40 hours a week, I commute 3.5 hours a day, have a family with kids, and I got Brett on Day 2 after he was released. I didn't do the FOTF collection though; that IS a lot of grinding. I just had the collections done.so was able to complete it

Can't you find a place closer to work or a job closer to home? That is a brutal commute.

Not for the $$$ I make. Living on Long Island, working in Manhattan. I could work from home but that's not what my company wants. Need to have face time here. Sucks but I deal with it. Sometimes I am too tired to grind on my Xbox so that sucks but hey, gotta do what you gotta do

I thought I was being really smart and efficient with my collections this year. On the day Brett was released, I only had enough cards to get 5 collection vouchers. As of last night, I'm up to 7. I don't know how anyone could have had him on the first day without flipping or spending money. Did you pack Trout like 12 times or something?

    Just 2 awards cards away

I also said screw future stars and sold them off to complete other collections. Got lucky and pulled Ohtani (already completed LS) about 2 weeks ago which really helped as well

I was able to complete most of the collections right away and had saved up over 600K stubs so I bought other cards I needed. It was easy to get the remaining cards needed. I actually unlocked him on day 2 of his availability. I packed Trout just once but packed DeGrom 6 times, Acuna 3 times, Tatis 3 times, but all of these pulls were within the first week or so of the release (including early access).

Many people unlocked Brett without doing most of that, including myself.

    Had to:
    flip
    extreme pack luck
    spend money
    12 win BR runs

No chance in hell you are getting just playing unless you are putting like 8 hrs/day in. Most weekends I put in around 20 hours and I'm nowhere close to Brett. Think I have 2 vouchers.

This thread is hilarious. It's simple to unlock Brett. Just dedicate a patch of your life to this game and nothing else, OR spend real money.

3.5 hour commute? Before the pandemic, mine was 2.5 and i wanted to blow my brains out. Thats total, btw, to and from. Since, my commute is walking down two sets of stairs to the basement. I play during, work at times too and still don't have Brett although I'm close. I must be doing something wrong.

Consider yourself lucky dude. I only drive ten minutes to work but then I have to sit here with this blue hair in the cubicle next to me. Guy types on a keyboard like Linus plays the piano. Uses a flip phone. Reads Fox News articles on his down time. Always seems confused, naturally. And after lunch for two hours he is clearing his throat and gargling water every five minutes. Don't get me started on the lady to my left.

That being said you could have been done with these collections sooner so you are likely doing something wrong.
