The Return of Pepe Alazar. What is with SDS Infatuation with Fake Cards?

If you wan't future stats to stop then you got to go convince dan Quisenberry to give SDS his rights. Until the Royals, Diamondbacks, and Rangers have more legends its not possible to do programs where every team gets a card without future stars
Ummmm...... going to be hard for him to do since he is dead. Hopefully his family will as that would be a fun card.

They should have made this one of the first 2 programs with lower rated future stars. The fact that they're 95s overall and probably better than almost every card in the game is ridiculous. No one wants to pull an Arrenado from their lineup for a Joe Schmo that wont be in the league for 3-4-5 years.
This is supposed to be MLB The Show....not MLB The Maybe In A Few Years
Amen. I'm fine with the Future Stars series although it's not my thing. My big issue with it is exactly what you stated. Have it at the beginning of the year and no one rated above an 85. Dudes being released in this program are already on the same level as HOF Tom Glavines best card. Something wrong with that.

I thought 2020 with the sheer amount of futures including the nolan's (gorma, jones) taylor trammel, brandon marsh were done excellently. and look at gorman, carlosen, may, marsh to an extent all have made it and are doing well . what puts a bad taste out there is the edward cabrera card that was end game so so so so early that they panicked and made degrom too good then rebounded and botched pedro. i think the prospects like quin preister whho was very good but not overpowered was ideal for a pitcher.
for this year make these cards about 92-94 with some headliners being 95-96 of the guys who will be up either soon or next szn -
The biggest problem I have is what they did last year having Nomar Mazara as the Rangers when he was traded the year before. Really... didn't have time to replace him with an actual current Rangers prospect?
-
These cards will be irrelevant in 2-3 weeks when the 99’s start pouring out. If you aren’t a fan of them, don’t use them. Some of you sound genuinely offended, it ain’t that serious guys

Dan Quisenberry is dead. He passed away in 1998.

That Nomar Mazara was a flashback card, that future card was like in 18 I think.

The more cards the better, and again they won’t replace the high legends, half of them won’t be better than Ketel Marte... But they’re fun, they help grow the game, and then the next program will be legends or all star cards.
-
Not even close to Reggie Stocker or Peepee Alazar.
-
future stars need to be capped at 90-93. No way in hell they need to be 95-99. Half of them won't even play more than 2-3 years in the majors.
-
Like always my problem isn't with future star cards, it's making them too good. Should be gold or low tier diamonds.

I believe it was the Sam Huff card last year for the Rangers right? I think I used him for a little bit.

Again, I need to point this out.
As a kid, the BEST, most sought-after cards in baseball card packs were rookie cards. (cards of players that had yet to prove anything at the major league level)
I see this merely as an extension of that and I don't mind it one bit.
Why not have high school players? They have proven as much as some of the “future stars”.
You act like I wouldn't absolutely love having NPB and KBO players in the show

I think people forget that Pepe was maxed out in literally every single stat.

Capped at 85 imo

I don’t mind this so much. It is an educational opportunity. When SDS got the rights to MiLB players a few years ago casual baseball fans such as myself became more aware of names to be aware of coming down the pipeline. Should the future stars be 95’s? No. 92’s would have been more appropriate this point in the cycle with a collection to bolster their value. Still, when a card I like playing with in ‘22 shows up as a bronze in ‘24 I’m likely to remember him…especially if he is a switch hitter or funky pitcher. And in the long run this will be good for baseball.

I'd prefer cards of guys who've actually been MLB stars but these are fun too as long as they're not stupid OP like Edward Cabrera,
I'm assuming it'll be very similar to the first feature program but I hope they've done away with no-sell, no-choice packs.
I also hope the Tigers get Riley Greene.
We get Jackson Jobe instead of the more popular, more desired Riley Greene

Saw that. Not too disappointed though since Jobe should be good plus Greene might be in line for a higher card down the road. Similar to Torkelson getting a 99 last year.

Eloy Jimenez Future star in the show 19
Tatis Jr FS in 19
Vlad Jr future star in 2019
Kopech FS in 18
Rutschman FS in 21
Dylan Carlson FS in 20
Franco FS in 21
Austin Riley in 19
Julio Urias FS in 17
Alex brgegman had Gold FS in 17
Bobby Dalbech FS in 20the list goes on, the future stars cards are awesome not only for the game but spreading more baseball fandom to the people that love baseball and love there favorite teams. The whole "hes not a HOF" argument are the same people that complain theres not enough free content. Its a video game, new cards, different players, cool card arts are fun, video games are fun.
