How is mini seasons not fixed yet?

    May 1st I believe it said.....quite irritating that it's a mode they promote which doesn't work which means did they ever really test it out. And I mean atleast a dozen people test the mode out to see if any kinks needed to be worked out.

    This is good to hear. I wasn't sure I was going to get 22 right away now that I finally got a ps5, because mini seasons waa a bug drawl for me.

    This is good to hear. I wasn't sure I was going to get 22 right away now that I finally got a ps5, because mini seasons waa a bug drawl for me.

    I beat mini seasons 4 times now and only ever had 1 win count as a loss and that was in early access.This on PS5

    I also played on Series X no problem

    I will redeem some of my hundreds of thousands of Southwest miles to fly @hoboadam_PSN to San Diego. I'm pretty sure he's the only person capable of figuring it out.

    Im on PS5 and I had played through mini seasons once, no issue. Second time I played got the unhandled server error in the playoffs. Sent in a ticket two weeks ago. I finally got a response Wednesday, a long email about the firewall that universities have on their network and a bunch of work arounds, probably two pages in length. I write back to reply that I'm not a student at a university and the issue is mode specific to mini seasons. I get a two sentence response back 'The team is aware of this issue and is currently working to resolve this. Thank you for your continued patience." I went ahead and restarted mini seasons, finished it last night no issue. Not sure where the problem lies (I made sure to not switch lineups and grinded out the second half and playoffs in one sitting last night), although Im still mad about the wasted time from the lost season.

    Ps4.....made it to championship then got unhandled error like so many....on my second play through now....it is alot of wasted time if that happens again

    It's funny because other game companies usually reach out to it's community for assistance. Whether it's basic details of who are being affected by a general issue, or specifics down to dates, times etc.

    You'd think that SDS might want people to report a mode specific issue to their dev or bug team. Their silence here only tells me that they don't know the root cause, and they are just hoping that it self resolves with an updated mini season.

    Based on the posts here on TSN as my only additional source of complaints on mini season bugs, I'm going with the final theory of the opponent rosters being the cause of seasons locking up.

    Now what this entails, I cannot say. People have eliminated the card swapping by the host console. I know that in my 3 successful uninterrupted seasons, I have seen the opponent rosters change slightly over the 3-5 period of playing a mini season. For me, it hasn't caused issues, but others have reported "Unhandled Server Exception" issues both mid season and in between post season series.

    How would I approach a diagnosis? Have a user immediately give me their last played mini season game. Check the opponent they played for their user name. Search the game history of that person and see what console they use, and what roster they are using.

    My money is that it's a console different than the host machine, and the roster is different than the one used against the host machine.

    Other possibilities?

    Are people that have issues, playing with cross play off? Maybe opponent rosters are different consoles and data isn't syncing because of the cross play indicator? I can't say.

    I have cross play on, playing from a PS5, and fortunately had zero issues. I've even played a few mini season games mid flight from my PS4. No problems.

    It's not a PS5 specific bug. If anyone with the big reads this and is playing on the PS5 with cross play off, try changing that setting, exit all the way out, wait 10 minutes and log back in.

    I'm grasping for straws here.

    I seriously don't understand how they think its okay to release a game with this many bugs. Did they even test this sh!t. I'd rather the game come out a month later without all these issues that make the game more frustrating than fun.

    The problem is that games have shifted to a "live service" model. For consumers, that means games are released with bugs and broken elements that will be patched later, and that persistent monetization is a thing. It's horrible.

    Why spend money doing honest pre-release testing when your consumers can do it for you and you can spin that as "being responsive to community feedback"?

    Everyone who got the early access edition should be refunded the early access upcharge.

    Data being sent to and from your console by SDS which contains the opponent roster, is where I believe the issue stems from.

    Maybe the roster of the opponent is causing the issue. That's my current theory. Maybe the opponent changed cross play settings on their side, which in turn is causing a roster conflict, thus the "Unhandled Server Exception".

    If they are giving you a long response, it tells me that they are working on it.

    One thing is for certain. It's data driven, and communication of the data is creating some type of conflict or synchronization problem. Restarting a season is a solution, but a poor one.

    They should have a log of the errors and can make a restitution of the Longo card. Will they? I dunno. I'm not them.

    I'd restart. That's me though.

    I've gone through 3 full seasons with ZERO issues. I can assure you that if I do get stuck though, I'll be checking every box score etc of my opponent, and probably sending them direct messages to find out what they've done in DD for the days leading up to my crash. Hehe

    I played 30+ games to get to the championship and then got the error message. I bet you'd be pissed if you wasted your time getting to that point just to not be able to get the rewards for winning the championship.

    Not needed. I’ve completed it twice. Once you have a big lead, just quit the rest of the games. Record doesn’t matter, just standings.
