So for an average player like me (135-113 last year in RS) there's not a huge difference.
I needed to play about 54 games last year to get to 30 wins. But there were probably 15-20 of those games that were early quits (by me or my opponent). So 45 or so games for 400 innings is very comparable.
For the best WS type players? This move absolutely destroys them. They'll have to play a ton more now.
For the worst players, but who are willing to grind? This move is all about them. Helps them enormously.
-
I guess it is worth pointing out that WS rewards are supposed to be somewhat exclusive.
I think I played a total of 87 ranked games last year. If every one was a full game (which obviously they were not) that would have been 783 innings.
Now if someone can do 400 innings of ranked in a month, my hat is off to them, but they are probably in the minority of this community.

But why would it hurt the WS type players that are already making WS each ranked season? They still have to make it to 900 which they do in the blink of an eye
-
Wins mean a LOT less to us who can't realistically make WS. I know my skill level, and it maxes out in the low 800's.
The 400 inning grind is horrendous, but it DOES clarify that I won't be playing RS much.

So SDS caters to the dozen YTers and not the tens? of thousands of others who play the game?
Aside from giving up your whole life and/or another plandemic, who has time to play 400 innings especially when people are still dashboarding anyway?
Other option is to spend $200 on stubs to buy the player off the small amount of WS level players?
Scumbag move SDS, big time scumbag move
the scum bag move were the people abusing the win system last year, and playing weak opponents, ITS A RANKED PLAYLIST, it has to have some form of that aspect so it doesn't turn into a quit fest. Either make WS or play the darn game, you dont even have to win, you get rewarded even if you lose thats so far from being a scumbag.
Fair up to a point, but if you're a 4A player like me -- too good for low rankings, never good enough for WS -- quitting was useful. I was never pathological about it, and always quit down to a level where I thought I had a 50/50 shot at a win.

WS Players don't have to play more, they just only get the reward once instead of making WS, dropping down to ruin the experience for 500-600 players, and getting their wins.

I consider myself an avg to above avg player. Last year I could make it to Championship get close to world series but have never made it there. I enjoy collecting all the cards that become available. Last year I was able to get the cards by racking up the wins. Yes, to SDS' point, quit a game early if I knew I was going to lose, but full games are only valuable to content creators not most players. And I only have so much time to play, need to maximize my time if I want to get all the cards and play all the modes.
With this year's change, no way I get to world series. Not even by "just playing the games" 400 innings is basically 44 games. That means between 35-40 hours of gameplay per season. If I commit to that I won't have time to do BR, events and so on. I rather do the other modes and still have the competition aspect in events and BR.
SDS- anyway you can tweak this? Maybe a combination of XP and innings? Or getting to certain levels (division series, championship) "buys" you a number of progress requiring less innings or XP to reach WS? Otherwise, someone like myself just don't see the point of playing ranked when I'm trying to get as many cards as possible.
making Ws is about innings now and not wins? that makes absolutely no sense. so you could go 1-43 and make it to WS??

The extra reward(like wins were last year) is innings based. You still get a pack for making world series rating

400 innings is less than 2 games a day….and you have a month. It’s doable.

Who on earth would do such a thing? lol. You do realize people can do that again as playing 450 innings on all star is better than 450 innings on HOF and Legend. If the connections still suck (which they probably will since their network team is not good), then I might do the same thing. Playing 450 innings on HOF or Legend 120 mph wiffle ball is not enjoyable.
So I won the WS in March to October on Legend on Monday (it was put on dynamic by accident). Online HOF and Legend speeds were WAY faster last year. I'm already getting blown away by 93 in some games.

thats just your mindset, all about the approach you take, if you go in thinking the worst then obviously going to feel horrible. Mental Toughness believe it or not is a great skill to practice not just in life. If you make legend that means you hit WS anyways or you're close. It might not be enjoyable to you, but to others who like to get better and not settle its pretty fun to challenge yourself. It makes the game more fun.

The other thing the change was meant to combat was people who would play at the lower levels to get wins, then when the opponents got stronger they would just start a bunch of games and keep quitting until they were back in the lowest divisions to rack up easy wins against weaker opponents.
So, the exploiters are to blame. Like many games the exploiters ruin it for those who don't exploit.
I’ll still tank. but play the full games drunk so at least I’ll get the innings to count. I’ll get tanked to tank…. Lol ( I won’t just quit out over and over )
-
World Series rewards are SUPPOSED to be hard to get. SDS made it exponentially easier, albeit time consuming, and you guys are still complaining?

I can see both sides. But this is what happens when SDS tries to cater to everyone. Making online skill-based rewards available for average players has to be infuriating for the WS crowd, but the inning total is just insane.
I don't claim to speak for everyone, but I don't care at all that there is a separate reward system for people to get the ws rewards that couldn't get there by getting to 900. They honestly help me reliably make stubs because I know the card will be cheaper by the end when people accumulate the innings. Also guarantees supply so when I don't feel like playing ranked I can buy the card without having to wait in a million stub line
-
It’s video game, it’s supposed to be fu . It’s not like by getting the DTrain you get $100,000 in your actually bank account and everyone else getting him depletes that... Sure if your NMS and it’s depletes the Stubbs you get, I understand... But it’s not SDS’ fault that they are trying to make the rewards available to everyone.

Exactly. Honestly I’m surprised they made WS cards this “easy” to get….in the sense that you literally don’t even need to win 1 game. 400 innings is also like 1 and a half games a day.
There’s people that spend 8 hours a day on the market for crying out loud. Less than 2 games a day actually playing the game for its intended purpose should not be frowned upon. It’s a great addition.
Or we can go back to 300 buy orders at 1 million if players want.

Bull.
It takes dedication and time that lots of people don't have. I probably CAN make WS, but I want to play other aspects of the game, do other things/play other games, and not have to practice for hours just to get better at RS.
And yes, some people have naturally slower reaction times AND don't have monitors.
Lots goes into this, not just "be dedicated."
